I had a really great experience last summer when, after I was rear-ended, Caliber Collision…read morerepaired my car. They kept me posted on the process, and completed all work on time. A year later, I had trouble with a rear-end collision sensor. I took the car to the Lexus dealership, and they determined that the wiring harness was frayed. I called Caliber. Steve looked at the video that Lexus provided. He said that my previous collision in all likelihood did not cause this new problem, but because it was unusual, he offered to replace the wiring harness for FREE. I was thrilled! Highly recommend Caliber Collision.

So after the hail storm we had in the northern va area about 2 yrs ago, I brought my subaru (key…read moreword for this review) to this location to have that work done. This was a 'preferred facility' per my insurance and that was a good start. Find out that i have a chipped front windshield and it's replaced as part of the repair. About 2.5 weeks after I get a call that my car is ready. I pick up the car on a saturday and it was sunny. Only to find out that the next day, sunday when i start my car, the subaru eyesight does NOT illuminate (strike 1) when i start the car and goes off after about 5-10 seconds. I know when I dropped off my car this eyesight was working and illuminated when i started the car. Now the 2nd day, still doesn't illuminate when starting the car. Stopped by the location today, 6/22, to have them look at it and apparently this recalibration of the front windshield and subaru eyesight are done by a 3rd party. I have a preliminary apt to have this looked at on this friday, 6/26/2026. Note that one of the MAIN reasons for getting a subaru was the subaru eyesight! For those who know what this is, you know how key this safety function is. I also have a state inspection that was due in May, oops, but with the traction/lane keep assist light currently illuminated from my research i know this will FAIL state inspection. When I mentioned this to the "service rep" at caliber today, 6/22 I was told that your car should pass inspection. Oh, well if that is so is this then incorrect: https://vatire.com/car-maintenance-tips/what-will-fail-a-virginia-state-inspection-what-you-need-to-know/ Until I am 100% satisfied, this review will have 0 (zero) stars.

This is an old review that got stuck in the draft box. So, a few months and pre-COVID-19…read more This was the fifth place I called. I needed to get a tailliight, back bumper, and side panel fixed on my car. I had many concerns- being ripped off, having my car declared ""totaled" since it was older, the length of time to fix, etc. Daniel was referred to me by one of the companies I called that my insurance company recommended. He was extremely nice over the phone and very patient explaining all the options. I still felt nervous about leaving my car. My insecurity stemmed from the phone always going straight to voicemail. The first time he did return my call right away. I like communication and contact. Once my car was dropped off, communication improved and I learned e-mail was the best way to communicate- not phone or text. Daniel was able to get additional money to do the repair (every auto body shop said the insurance quote was low), not get it declared "totaled" and he fixed it in a timely manner. With the exception of the annoying phone always going to voicemail and then voicemail saying the mailbox is full, my experience was very positive and would be 5 star. Only docking a star over a weird incident with my remote key. He offered to change the battery. This turned out to be more expensive more of a freakish ordeal than I thought. And it somehow resulted in the steering wheel being locked and me losing another day getting my car. So I had to make 2 trips to get it. In summary- fabulous body work, honest guy who will work with you, and the work was top notch...but take your key to the dealer to change the battery.

TOTAL RIP-OFF! I was rear-ended while waiting at the…read morestoplight with my tesla model y. The only damage was on a small portion of the liftgate. They took over three weeks for the repair. We asked for a shorter time since it was my daughter's spring break. At first they said it was ok but then they changed their mind. They insisted on a minimum of three weeks. I think that they run a racket on the tesla loaners and charge the insurance with luxury rentals. Their main focus was to secure as much money they could procure for themselves ignoring all the requests of the customers. In total they took around $12,000 for a repair of less than $2000 for an average paint shop. (they tell everyone a minimum of three weeks!)

I had a very disappointing and frankly frightening experience with Total Recon. My 2014 Tesla Model…read moreS was towed here on October 3, 2025, after an accident. They gave me a repair estimate of $17,335.18 on October 15, which seemed reasonable, and I assumed work was being done. For over two months, I waited with no updates. Suddenly, on December 5, they emailed demanding the loaner back immediately and threatened a police report for "failure to return a rental vehicle." I called their rep (Alfonso), who said he would extend the loaner--he never followed up. That evening, the loaner was remotely disabled (Valet Mode) while I was driving, stranding me overnight in 20°F snowy/rainy weather on a busy DC street. I had to pay for towing myself to avoid freezing. The next morning (December 6), they called police (Rockville and Prince George's County), claiming I failed to return the rental. They also told officers my Florida license was "fake" or fraudulent. Police cleared me immediately. I repeatedly explained my disabilities (immune-compromised, OCD, ADHD, anxiety) and asked for accommodations to get my medication and belongings from the loaner (less than ¼ mile away at a friend's house). They refused and left me stranded without transportation or meds ever since. Now they demand over $14,000 in storage/rental fees--almost as much as the repair estimate--yet no work was ever done on my car. I have video, emails, bills, and records. This was unsafe, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Avoid if you value safety and clear communication.
