So after the hail storm we had in the northern va area about 2 yrs ago, I brought my subaru (key word for this review) to this location to have that work done. This was a 'preferred facility' per my insurance and that was a good start. Find out that i have a chipped front windshield and it's replaced as part of the repair. About 2.5 weeks after I get a call that my car is ready. I pick up the car on a saturday and it was sunny. Only to find out that the next day, sunday when i start my car, the subaru eyesight does NOT illuminate (strike 1) when i start the car and goes off after about 5-10 seconds. I know when I dropped off my car this eyesight was working and illuminated when i started the car. Now the 2nd day, still doesn't illuminate when starting the car. Stopped by the location today, 6/22, to have them look at it and apparently this recalibration of the front windshield and subaru eyesight are done by a 3rd party. I have a preliminary apt to have this looked at on this friday, 6/26/2026. Note that one of the MAIN reasons for getting a subaru was the subaru eyesight! For those who know what this is, you know how key this safety function is. I also have a state inspection that was due in May, oops, but with the traction/lane keep assist light currently illuminated from my research i know this will FAIL state inspection. When I mentioned this to the "service rep" at caliber today, 6/22 I was told that your car should pass inspection. I had a really great experience last summer when, after I was rear-ended, Caliber Collision repaired my car. They kept me posted on the process, and completed all work on time. A year later, I had trouble with a rear-end collision sensor. I took the car to the Lexus dealership, and they determined that the wiring harness was frayed. I called Caliber. Steve looked at the video that Lexus provided. He said that my previous collision in all likelihood did not cause this new problem, but because it was unusual, he offered to replace the wiring harness for FREE. I was thrilled! We dropped our car off 39 days ago and it still hasn't been finished. When we dropped it off at our appointment, Mike quoted us two weeks. We're now on week 6. He doesn't answer phone calls, doesn't call back when he says he will, and gives us the runaround when we finally do manage to chase him down. First VW delivered the wrong parts. Then the glass was installed incorrectly. Now apparently we're waiting on "calibration" consultants who haven't been showing up to work multiple days in a row. It's excuse after excuse with this place, and seems like they don't do any work in house. read more

My car got scraped up against in the Trader Joe's parking lot, so I called in an insurance claim on it, for the back right bumper. A week and a half prior to that happening, I had parked in the surface parking lot near my building, apparently with my front bumper slightly on top of the curb, because there were no wheel stops. The left front bumper had come off of the vehicle a couple of centimeters, and there was a large crack that looked unsightly. I asked during the walk around with the technician at Caliber Collision, whether I could pay out of pocket to have the front bumper fixed. The walk around included highlighting other damage to the vehicle with a marker, which I did not care about. This included a 1.5-2 inch vertical puncture on the back bumper, which the technician pointed out. I was pretty clear verbally that I wanted the front left bumper fixed, and that that was what I wanted to pay out of pocket for. The time came to pick up my vehicle, and this is what the front left bumper now looks like. Unfortunately, I didn't read the email with the estimate closely enough, and was charged for the repair to the small puncture that I didn't care about, instead of what I asked for during the walk around, and paid $500 for a repair I didn't want, instead of what I asked for. I would recommend to Caliber Collision staff that they include a photo of what is to be repaired in the estimate or email itself, so that it is clear to everyone involved, what is being repaired. read more

Work was done sooner than projected, which was nice or was it.. Honestly, my trunk still doesn't close like it used to before being rear ended despite the part being repaired/replaced. I was unhappy to find dusty fingerprints of whatever was on the mechanic's hands all over the inside of my car once I got it back. I wouldn't recommend getting your car repaired here. I found my longboard/skateboard which was in my trunk had being ridden while my car was not in my possession. I am pissed because why are you going through my things!? And taking my skateboard for spin, you're supposed to be fixing my car not going through it! The wheels of my board are much dirtier. Footprints are all over it which resembles the same dust prints found on the inside of my car. Dont come here, they go through your car and may not even fix it properly. Due to unfortunate events I have used Caliber Collision three times over the past 4 years. Each time the damage to my car was different, and each time it was fixed to like new condition. I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else. Everyone at Caliber Collision is very nice and professional. I've always been treated well and with respect. They are very professional and work well with the insurance company. It's easy to schedule an estimate and then a time to bring in your car for service. They also work directly with rental car companies for pick up and drop off. I've only used Enterprise because that's what the insurance companies chose for me, but was still a breeze. Caliber Collision will call Enterprise to let them know you've arrived. When you pick up your car you can leave the rental at Caliber and they take care of the rest...one less step! They keep you updated from the time they bring the car in the shop. My most recent visit they finished with my car 2 days earlier than expected! Every time I have picked up my car they have vacuumed and washed it! This is always a nice bonus. Although I've moved across town, and there are plenty of locations, this location is my #1. I had a car accident and ended up using this shop thru the insurance company. I guess the quality repair itself was okay. HOWEVER after a delay, I picked up my car. My car WAS NOT cleaned at all. First inside of my car was full of dust made me coughing so badly. Second, the window got splash of green/blue paint that took forever for me to remove. Also, I had a golf bag in the trunk and when I picked up my car, the golf clubs were placed out of bag and all over the places in the back seat. Lastly, my car came back with brand new scratches on the body and I was too stupid to take before after photo. I did not know what they did with my car in addition to the repair. Maybe I should've taken photos exterior.interior before my car was dropped off ( in addition to the car mileage). Extremely disappointed with the service. I texted to the manager for this matter and no one ever gotten back to me. I dropped by to get a estimate on the minor rear corner damage on my 09 BMW X3. The front show room was empty. Place was mess, looked as Place was closed for business. It took a while 10 minutes Perhaps until some guy showed up. He acted like I was bother his busy schedule and Could not spare a 10 minute for a proper estimate. He was not professional. He took couple of photos on his cell phone and took my Information. Never heard from him. I had car repaired here when it Was Craftsmen. Was satisfied with work. When I purchased my used car it was delivered from out of state with no front license plate frame, or pre-drilled holes, from which to attach the front plate as required by Virginia. After unsuccessfully trying an auto repair shop and a hardware store it occurred to me to ask at Caliber Collision for ideas/assistance. The manager responded immediately, offered me two or three options, and then proceeded to drill two holes into the front bumper, slide in some bolts, and attach my front license plate. The entire exercise took less than 10 minutes. The gentleman, who I assume was a manager, was polite, friendly and professional. He also completed the project without charging me. I couldn't be more happy with the service and the results from Caliber Collision. I was rear-ended and the person who was at fault had GEICO insurance, which brought me to Caliber. Between Steven and Rhyan, they took care of everything. They laid out the best options for repair and set up a time. After I dropped it off, the car was done in about half the time they originally quoted. When I picked up the car, Rhyan took me over and explained what they had done. It looked better than I imagined - they truly had gone the extra mile. Called prior to get an estimate over the phone to quote some rear bumper body-paint due to some light scratches from daily use, they told me that I have to come to get an estimate , fair enough , i took a time off and headed to the shop . Interaction lasted less than a minute . We do estimates only by appointment and we are very busy on Mondays . Literally we don't need your business . Went to another well known body across the street that seems busier than this one , they quoted me in less than 5 minutes . I wouldn't recommend this place based on my experience. I had a fender bender and towed them the car due to proximity. They are busy and quite slow. They took 2 weeks to get an estimate to the insurance company (one week until someone even started the estimate!). They kept blaming Covid situation for staffing shortages and getting parts prices. They didn't give me any status updates along the way and I had to keep calling them, which sometimes didn't get answered or was told that the adjuster would call me in a few minutes, but I had to follow up the next day again. My car was taken there on May 23rd and the estimate was quickly approved by my insurance company with a completion target of 7/29. I heard very little from them even though I emailed for updates. Only on 7/25 was I told the car was now a total loss. Two months! Really? If you couldn't fix it, you should've figured that out much sooner. Now I have no car and a replacement isn't available. A pick up truck had backed into the side of my car as I was leaving a parking lot and its trailer hitch had dug deep into the door and rear left quarter. Caliber was recommended by the responsible driver's insurance company (Erie). From start to finish and all in between, I have never experienced such thorough customer service and excellence. The staff was very pleasant to deal with, totally professional with warmth and caring, and kept me posted on progress every step of the way, They made it so easy coordinating with the rental car company and finished the work ahead of schedule. One of the worst service experiences I've ever had in my entire life. I had a vehicle that needed repairs after an automobile-terrain collision. When I brought it in, I was told that they needed some time to do some initial screening before they could quote me on the estimate. I was told this would probably be done by the end of the same day that I brought it in, but worst case by the end of the next day and that they'd CALL ME when the estimate was out. Two days pass, no call. I call on the third day and ask if the estimate was out - it was. I asked how long they thought the repair would take. They said minimum two weeks, possibly longer - which was fine with me - and that I'd receive constant updates through text messages throughout the process. Great! For the first week or so, I received very vague one sentence update text messages. Afterwards, nothing. I called to get an update on the status of my vehicle near the end of the second week (this is after a week with no updates). Fortunately, I was told that my vehicle was basically done and just needed some final paint and miscellaneous stuff that should be done either by the end of the day or the next day and that I'd RECEIVE A CALL by the end of the day. Day ends, no call. I call the next day, asking if my car is ready to be picked up. Not quite yet, but they'll CALL ME at the end of the day. Day ends, no call. I'm pissed off at this point and don't call for basically another half week, because surely they'll call me when it's done. I call again for a status update - not done yet, but it should be done really soon and they'll make sure the guy in charge GIVES ME A CALL. No call. I call again the next week and ask if it's done. Yeah it's done, come pick it up. Overall, took an extra two weeks after the day I first called and they told me it should be done by the end of the day. Over the course of 3-4 weeks, I made probably half a dozen calls. At the end of each call, I was told by the worker that either they or someone else would give me a call. I received 0 calls from these people, ever. You'd think this would be the end of it, right? No. Turns out the windshield fluid motor was also broken, so I took my car back to see if I could get that fixed. They could do it, but they needed to order the part first and they'd GIVE ME A CALL when it came in. This was on a Thursday mid-afternoon, and they'd most likely be able to get it by Friday. No call. I ignore them for two weeks and call and ask if they have it, which they do but didn't bother to call to tell me. Never take your car or your money here, unless you're fine with absolutely 0 communication. read more
