My car had been in an accident several years ago and they worked on it at caliber collision. The clearcoat came off the paint on my trunk. When I went back, they couldn't find a ticket. So I went to WT auto body and they gave me suggestions on how to investigate the prior accident. My insurance company Keener Insurance was no help at all. So I ended up paying to have the truck painted myself. They did an excellent job I drop the car off on Monday. Got it back on Wednesday and it looks like brand new. Excellent work, Mike. So far into my claim process with State Farm with WT Auto Body doing the work is going well. I'm surprised there isn't a Yelp review so I'll start it off. I'll need to update this review because they haven't fixed my damaged bumper yet but everything else went smoothly. The inspection and then the estimate and just waiting for them to call me back and schedule the time for me to drop off the car and get it fixed by them. Lobby is nice, free coffee, parking lot kind of small but when it gets crowded they will help you find a spot. read more

This is absolutely a bad place to fix your car problem. I was recommended by a Korean friend for potentially 'honest' to fix my Honda CR-V speed sensor and AC problem one month ago. The service advisor (David) promised me to beat dealer price. It sounded good and I just put my trust on him. Unfortunately, he just overcharged me after the fix and the price was even higher than dealer!! Even worse, they didn't fix my AC leak problem since I heard the leak noice again around a week after the fix and then totally no AC again. I came in for a second time and they showed me that another hose was leaking, which makes me doubt they might even replace the wrong hose last time. How likely do the two hoses leak at the same time? If both leaked, they should be detected when performing diagnosis. The worst, after back from a long-distance trip without AC in hot summer, I'd like to fix that asap as he promised, he just kept saying they were busy, how about next week, next week? Enough, I decided to run. Let them enjoy the money they earned from me!!! So, bad quality, overcharge and bad service. Never go!!! read more

I'm having my second experience with WT Auto Body & Service this weekend, but should've left a review sooner. Kwani (sorry unsure of spelling) and this shop are wonderful. The first time, my car was acting up on me but worked fine for them, so they were unable to diagnose any issue. They didn't charge me. On Friday my car was acting up again, just not starting. Had it towed to WT, where it worked fine for them again.. by this point I had to laugh. But they kept at it, checking my car periodically, and voila, it didn't start for them, they diagnosed starter issue. By that point it was about 3pm. They immediately ordered the part and had same-day delivery, and did all they could to get it done before they closed for the weekend. Kwani calls me to say he doesn't want his team to rush it, he wanted them to be careful with it. So although my car is in the shop this weekend, I still felt the need to write this review. FYI Honda Fairfax didn't have the part either, and said it wouldn't be in until Tuesday (at the earliest). They order all their parts from a New Jersey warehouse so wouldn't be able to offer the same-day service like WT. read more

My service advisor was Kwan Chon, who has many years of experience in automobile repair and maintenance. Kwan was pleasant to me the first time that I called. He understood the part that I needed replaced and knew where to obtain it. He set a convenient appointment for me to stop by for service. When I arrived, I noticed that the waiting area was clean and comfortable. The competing Toyota dealerships told me that it would take one hour of work to remove the old part and install the the new part. But it seems that I was seated in the reception area for less than ten minutes when Kwan told me that the work was done! He provided me with an initial written quotation at my request and he honored it at the time I paid. My car is working just fine now. I returned a few days later and asked Kwan to educate me about the part that was replaced. He graciously answered all my questions and gave me advice on how to choose a trustworthy auto repair shop. Not sure why there are two Yelp listings for this business, but this is my review from the other listing: The company website states that one can drop In for an approximately 20 minute estimate during business hours. I went out of my way to do so and was greeted and told someone would be out. Stood outside for 5-10 minutes and someone came out to tell me that estimates are by appointment and I have to call for one. What? Even if that were the case, update your website and I'm there so why would I bother to call? Won't be returning if this is the level of detail and customer service at this shop. If you got an accident and need your car fixed and want to have a good experience? run! look somewhere else, I'm sure there are better places in Fairfax. I chose that place because they promised to fix the car in two weeks, it took more than 3. My sunglasses holder was perfect when the car was towed, when I picked it up it was broken and of course, they didn't know anything about it. Today trying to reset the tire pressure light I looked on the car floor, right where the steering column is, and the plastic cover is missing, I know it was there before and they are the only ones that worked in the car, specifically there to replace the steering column. The car was in accident, and they did an alignment in one tire only! The car felt absolutely awkward after the accident and out of tire alignment. When I called today, they kept transferring me and they didn't know anything about it. My idea is they don't respect women and specially if they are from a minorities group, unless is from their community, I would guess. read more

I had a collision with my 2004 Acura TL, which required replacement of the hood, radiator, headlight and other items. I had gotten 2 estimates and they were pretty much the same. I had dealt with W. T. before and they had done a good job so I decided to have them do this work. I am very pleased with the outcome. I hope people will read this long review and take my experience into account. I am a car rookie. The front bumper of my 2001 Nissan was falling off because one screw hole was damaged. I thought I have to replace the bumper. So I Google Mapped body shops and WT Auto Body is the closest. Without consulting any internet reviews, I went there. The place was run by a group of Asians and since I am also Asian, I was hoping that they'd give me a low price. A guy at the door received me and referred me to a sales guy sitting inside. This guy (a chubby and short Asian) greeted me, without introducing his name. After I told him that I have problem with my bumper, he came out with me to the car. Before I showed him the damaged screw holes, he noticed some scratches on the bumper and asked if I want to paint the spot. I said "maybe not because I might have to replace the entire thing." He said "Sure. That would be $700." I had searched online and knew that the DIY cost of replacing it is about $250 ($100 for the bumper and about $150 for the paint). But I knew the drill of a salesman is to exaggerate and settle at a reasonable price. So I said "no way, $700 is a rip-off", hoping to negotiate it down to $500. Then he became immediately irritated and responded in an almost deranged manner "you say it's a rip-off? then go somewhere else." And without giving me any chance to respond, he turned back to the store saying "I just told you it's $700 and you think it's a rip-off. I don't talk to people who think my price is a rip-off." I was astonished. Was my tone disrespectful? I don't know. My voice was quite tough, but by no means belittling or offensive. At that moment, I almost believed that, given his reaction, $700 may be the prevailing market price, which of course turned out not to be the case as another place that I went later offered only over $400. I also thought that maybe I shouldn't have said the word "rip-off" as it may be offensive to a sales person. (I am not a native English speaker and sometimes do make wrong choice of words.) In any case, I felt offended that he just walked away like that and did not let me say anything. So I followed him inside, trying to get him talk to me again. He sat down near another guy later turned out to be the manager. I asked him "why did u walk away? $700 is too much. But at least you should check to see if it can be re-attached first." He said "I looked at it and it cannot be fixed." I said "you didn't even look at it. You were talking about the scratches and I was the one who said it may need a new bumper." He maintain that he did (which he didn't). The manager then came forward saying he will take care of this. Then he took me outside to my car again. I told him that I didn't say anything offensive but the other guy was totally unreasonable and disrespectful. He smiled and said "Don't worry. I will talk to him." I said "no, you won't" He said yes he will. WTF, right? Think of yourself complaining to a manager about the misdemeanor of his salesman, and him shrugging it off with a light "I will talk to him." He did not intend to explain that person's attitude, nor apologize. But at that time, at least the manager seemed nice. So I did not push. Then he asked me for the VIN of the vehicle. I said "why the VIN?" He gave a wry smile and said "I need the VIN to know the model of the car to get a price." I felt fishy and asked "that guy didn't ask for the VIN and offered a price immediately. Can't you just do the same? And I know the year, make, and model, isn't that enough?" He never gave a convincing reason but insisted on it. And I gave him the VIN. After he copied the VIN and was ready to go back in, I felt that the atmosphere has warmed a little, so I asked him "what the f*** was that guy thinking about?" To my surprise, he reacted "wow, this is just business. there is no need to use foul language." I said "but that guy was totally disrespectful". He said "I'm sorry. This is just business. I'm afraid you have to get it go somewhere else." I said "sure" and left. To be fair, the manager's tone was respectful when he said all that, which was professional and which I respect. I should take some heat for saying "f***". But the core issue is that I was being unduly treated in the first place and I asked for an explanation which they never gave. And he blamed me for bad language as if they didn't do anything wrong. In conclusion, the sales guy was the most horrible person I have ever met in the service sector and the manager, although professional all the time, was so shrewd as to evade my question and tried to brush his subordinate's mistake off. I will never do business with them. P.S. Afterwards I went to another place and guess what. The salesperson said replacing it would cost over $400 so he just taught me how to re-attach the bumper myself. He even wiped off those small scratches for me. He did all that without charging one penny. $700? What a joke read more

I had the bad fortune of having a second fender bender in less than two months. Luckily, it wasn't my fault. State Farm had a list of several body shops in my area - I chose W T Auto Body. OMG!! I think the second fender bender was a blessing in disguise. I brought it in on Tuesday morning, I got a call on Wednesday the following week saying my car was ready - two days early! I am overjoyed!! Mike surpassed all my expectations. My car looked nearly as good as when I drove it off the dealership lot! The hub cap that was damaged was replaced by a sterling new one. I had a minor scrape on a hub cap that was unrelated to the damage one - the scrape was gone! The alignment job made the car drive like new. I would recommend this place to my family! I hit a deer with my Tundra and wanted to explore options to the insurance-approved shop for repairs. WT Auto Body had good ratings for quality so took my truck there for an estimate. I was showing a young man the damage to the driver's side fender, the grill, and the hood and he pointed to where the Toyota emblem was missing from the grill and said "Was that a result of the accident?" I said yes. He pointed to a microscopic chip near the logo and said "That doesn't look consistent with a deer hit." I didn't get his point and said, "Well, it wasn't there before the accident." He responded, "It's just that it doesn't look consistent with a deer hit." I asked if he was calling me a liar. He said, "I didn't call you a liar, I was just pointing out that it doesn't look consistent with hitting a deer." Meanwhile there is deer hair trapped in the headlight and grill. I said if he was doubting how this happened I'd be glad to take my business somewhere else and he replied "Fine. I didn't want your business anyway" (spoken in the tone of a 2-year-old). I was happy to move on to two other shops. Please note: when the insurance representative looked at my truck he didn't question the disappearance of the emblem. Neither did the other two estimators (according to the estimates it is a $27 part). I would have welcomed the opportunity to find out for myself if the good ratings were justified and can only hope that an elder at the shop sees this review and instructs this young man the proper way to deal with customers. read more

I've had a great experience with W T Auto Body Shop! I called in advance to set up an appointment for an estimate after my first ever car accident and all my questions were answered and I was given all the information I needed up front. I took my car in early on Saturday at 8:00 am and the shop already had staff ready and waiting. I was greeted by name as soon as I walked up to the door! Very friendly and informative staff. I've received regular updates on the status of my car and they have worked diligently with my insurance. Mike Kwon is especially helpful and made the whole situation way less stressful. Do not use this auto body shop. They cracked my windshield, claimed that I brought it in damaged, and then only offered to pay less than half for the repair after I got my insurance involved. The circumstances were that I had a rear door and rear quarter panel repair. I dropped the car off afterhours. There was no damage to the windshield at all. No chip, no crack, nothing. They told me it would be a 7 to 9 day repair. After 7 days, I call to get an update of the status. They tell me the repair is almost done and I can pick up the care the next day. The next day I get 3 phone calls from Mike (the short guy most people are complaining about in other negative reviews) arranging payment of the deductible and the paperwork for after hours pick up. I pick up the car 1 hour after they close and notice a 12 INCH CRACK in my front windshield. I leave a voicemail asking what is up with that. He talks to my wife the next day and claims that the crack was there when they found my car day after I dropped it off, and that he "documented" it in their system. Also, he neglected to notify us because he thought we already new about it. I still can't believe any of this. Any photos? Nope. They don't have any of those. Claims a small crack can grow into a large crack, so maybe we didn't notice a small crack. I then ask later well how big was the crack when they took in the car, he says it was six inches. Recap: 1) Brought car with NO windshield damage; 2) In 9 days, never get any call or mention of any crack in the windshield; 3) Pick up my car and there is a 12 INCH CRACK prominently in the windshield; 4) Blames me and says damage was there in the beginning; 5) Then when my insurer gets involved, says owner may help with the paying the damage; 6) offers to pay "labor" to fix the windshield, but I have to pay for the expensive replacement glass (we declined to have any W&T person ever touch our car again); and 7) changes story that they discovered a chip that magically grew 12 inches (while apparently not serious enough to contact me about) or it was a 6 inch crack and magically appeared overnight. Getting your car repaired involves a lot of trust in an auto body shop and based on reviews elsewhere I thought I could trust them. But they are sticking to their nonsensical story and it isn't worth dealing with the potential headaches, and I really hope any readers don't have to go through my ordeal. Life is too short to suffer with such folks. Still regretting not going to Caliber Collision that the insurance adjuster originally recommended. read more

While it is annoying to go through the process of getting your car fixed after an accident, WT auto body made the experience as painless as possible. They did the rapacity estimate in about 20 minutes and ordered parts. The next week I dropped off the car for repair and they arranged for the rental car company to pick me up. The car was done the following day (minor damage). They even cleaned the car. So friendly and helpful-I definitely recommend them! I am so glad I didn't bypass this place because of the one bad review on yelp. I stopped by it mostly because it is right by where I work and I really needed a check up on my car. The staff at WT were attentive, honest, and told me exactly what my car needed. They were in no way pushy and trying to get me to add things I didn't need (something that I dread dealing with when I go to auto shops). They allowed me to make my own decisions based on their advice and I am more than happy with the service I received. I will definitely be returning here if my car needs anything else! A neighbor dinged my car and suggested I go to W T Auto Body to get the repairs done- fixing a scratched bumper and a basic paint job. From the very beginning, it was a great experience. David took care of me throughout the whole process. He explained what needed to be fixed, how long it would take, and even helped me set up a rental car! The work was done in less time than anticipated, and David kept me alight of all updates (a new part had to be ordered and he walked me through and got my approval first). Car looked beautiful; was washed and vacuumed when I picked up. The lounge is accommodating with nice leather couches and chairs instead of uncomfortable hard, plastic chairs. I'm sure they do great body work....that's if you can get an estimate first of all and get past the overbearing adjuster. Called Friday Apr 26,2013 to see if an appt is needed for Sat, they said no, come on in. I had a small window to get it done since I had a doctor's appt at 9:30. So I get there at 8:05am and the guy says he's already got an 8:00 and 8:30am appointments. Then asks if we were going through insurance, yes. So he demanded an assignment number from the insurance co. I said I only wanted an out of pocket/independent estimate and I wanted to get several estimates, to which he looked confused. He said he can do one but it wouldn't count since the insurance might say certain damages weren't part of the accident, understandable. But goes and said if we used them, then he'll have to draw up another estimate, etc. etc. etc. Sorry for making you do your job. What does free estimates mean then?? 1. I wanted an independent estimates from several shops. Is that uncommon or something? 2. I wanted see which shop will replace parts vs repair parts. 3. Has it changed? Is it the first shop you go to, the ONLY shop you can use or something? That was the impression I got from this guy. So I went to Northern VA Auto Body in the mean time and they did an independent estimate no problem. Made it to the doc appt on time and during the doctors appt I called WT for an appt. I really wanted to give them a chance since they were highly rated and recommended. I got an 11:30 appt and it was the same circle talk and BS from the adjuster. He even had the nerve to tell me he didn't want to estimate the front end damage since he wasn't sure it could have happened from the accident. WTF? Was he there?? Who is he to tell me what happened or didn't. Just get me a damn estimate and do your job! Obviously he is looking out for the insurance companies and not the customers. If you are fine settling for a no questions asked repair on your part, then use WT. If you want repaired and used parts, use WT because that's what he used for my estimate. This is the 2nd car we have had repaired at W T Auto. The staff is friendly and informative They kept us updated on the repairs and even got it done faster in order to help us out.
