Been to a few of the Dickey's locations and not sure I'd come back to this one. Tables were very sticky and could use a better cleaning. Food was ok. Asked for moist brisket, un-trimmed. The service here was fast but the girl behind the counter was condescending when I gave her my name while picking up and online order. Like other Dickeys locations Ive noticed a distinct difference between ordering in the store and ordering online or on the app. When ordering in store the food size, appearance, and quality are much different. In store, when I order a pulled pork sandwich, the meat is piled high, the bun is fluffy and has a more pleasing look and feel to it. Ordering online or on the app the same sandwich appears to be less meat and the bun is squished flat. I have to pry the top bun off in order to add condiments and/or bbq sauce. Ive noticed this while ordered at home and driving to the location or even ordering from the location parking lot, waiting a few mins and then entering the store. Otherwise everything else is good and always love the free ice cream that everybody gets with every meal but the cones here tasted stale. read more

This is my go-to bbq location simply for ease and that it is close to my house. I enjoy Dickey's as a brand, and the quality is always good. This location does; however, struggle with order accuracy. In store or when I order on Uber Eats, my order is wrong every single time. Either missing a topping on my sandwich, or missing sauce on a delivery. I always say something to the staff when something is missing, or leave a review on Uber Eats, but it's one thing that hasn't ever changed. I don't necessarily want a free meal, or a refund when something is missing, I just want management to make order accuracy a priority. I will update review if this changes. The food was great, but the lady wasn't so great, she acted like she didn't want to be there. The guy behind the grills was nice, he took our orders. The menu says, make it a combo-add two sides, or one drink and one side. I wanted the combo with one drink and one side, and I guess that wasn't an option. The girl rudely stated it doesn't work like that. So I paid for two sides, one I didn't want, and extra for a drink that was supposed to be included in the "combo". I stumbled in during their grand opening by complete accident in search of a decent lunch. I was greeted by a very friendly staff and ordered up the 2 meat plate. I got the brisket, spicy cheddar sausage, fried okra and baked potato casserole. $12.50 without a drink, well I get a free one as part of their grand opening. Still pricey for lunch. And they couldn't accept AMEX. Sat down in their new, clean dining area and dug in. Heres what I noted. The brisket was good but nothing award winning, honestly it was really greasy which I know you are all thinking of course it is, it's BBQ! But this was excessive. I think they wrap their briskets in plastic wrap and then heat them which just renders all the available fat. The sausage was terrible, I mean to the point that I tossed it. It tasted like a Bar-S Brand sausage with chunks of government cheese embedded in it. No good. The casserole was also bad, tasted like it was reheated food service prepared food. The okra was, well fried okra. Unless it's over cooked it's always good. Overall impression is that this is a over priced franchise run by a very nice family. This is my go to BBQ because it's close to my house. It's good barbecue the service is excellent. I have to eat Bbq at least twice a week and sometimes I don't have time to go check out other places. They have a friendly staff and the lobby is always clean the bathrooms were always clean. I like the spicy barbecue sauce and I usually mix it with a sweet because I like a sweet hot BBQ. You get a free ice cream cone after every meal the kids love that, it's self service at the condiment counter. So everybody leaves with a treat when they get done, I will go back and I appreciate their hard work read more

I love this place! The brisket is so delish. Tender and flavorful, juicy and fresh. So many sauces to pick from and they are all good. I cannot resist the fried okra, so crispy outside, soft inside. Ask for extra pickles and onions. Very good portion sizes. My husband loves the creamy, cheesy baked potato casserole and the barbecue beans. The daily specials are a good value and include a drink. He asked me who would be picking up, then hung up before telling me the total. I did not think anything of it and not worth calling back (Or so I thought). I ordered Dickeys for delivery. My husband ordered the 3 meat platter. There meat came in a container about as big or computer mouse. I ordered the 2 meat platter (which came in the same size container) and had slightly more meat than my husband got. The sides were bigger portions! I ordered a gallon of sweet tea and I got unsweetened! We also ordered 2 slices of pecan pie and only got 1. I am so disappointed in this order!! I am a self proclaimed BBQ enthusiast. I'm Texan. I worked at a top 50 (per Texas Monthly) BBQ restaurant in Fort Worth for 5 years. I know what good Texas BBQ is. We ate at Dickey's in Allen, TX for awhile a long time ago. It was good, had family coupons frequently and was closer. Not the best TX BBQ, but not bad. Then one day we showed up to find that they were selling fish, and changed the look of the kitchen to "hide" more from view. We never went back, That was maybe 12 years ago, I visited the Thornton location after moving to Denver and working near there. I came to expect $15 for lunch with a sliced brisket sandwich, two sides, and a 1/4 lb of jalepeno sausage. Always filling. Good portions. The staff is never over the top excited, but it's okay because I'm not expecting "flare" to be tossed around in a BBQ joint. What sets this location apart from the Westminster location that I was very disappointed in, is quality of food and presentation. Go check out the picture of what I ordered at Westminster vs. Thornton. Westminster gave me four pieces of sausage, which didn't even cover the bottom bun. Now see the photo I uploaded of my Thornton lunch. Shocking. Yes, I ordered something similar yet different, but the point is that Thornton gets that presentation is important. If you only give 4 pieces of sausage, be creative with said portion. Slice it thinner, hide the inadequacy of portion size with presentation. Thornton, I'll be back. A barely baked potato with no sour cream, no butter, no green onions and no sauce, also smothered in cheese. I specifically said I did not want cheese. Spent fucking 20$ on this order for it to turn up like this and I only got refunded 3$. Don't go to this location they don't know what they're doing, nor do they care. Thanks for ruining my dinner. Placed an order online for a 3-meat plate with sliced brisket, chopped brisket, and pulled pork. They called me shortly after I placed my order to say they had no brisket left. That's fine, it happens, I know this all too well after having worked in fast food myself. The problem is that when I asked to cancel my order, they said they couldn't do that. They insisted that I had to cancel it through wherever I had ordered it from. In this case, I ordered it through their own website, which provided no cancellation option. They refused to cancel the order themselves and are going to "talk to the manager tomorrow" about it and "hopefully your money will get refunded." There should be nothing "hopeful" about it. How hard is it to cancel an order? This is ridiculously unprofessional, especially from a major restaurant chain. read more

Used Uber eats. This is NOT thier fault. Dickey's gave driver wrong order...he came back, and picked it up. Called the store. Person I spoke with said "oh, that was my fault, I'll send your order when driver gets back". Said driver returned 30 min later with correct order. FYI, this is important.. Dickey's package thier to go orders in a nice paper bag, like the ones from Chipotle. Driver pulls said bag from his warming case, hands it to me, and low and behold, the bottom of the bag was wet,moist, oozing from grease. ( I did order ribs). The entire contents of ribs,baked beans,green beans and potatoes fell through the bottom and all over my carpet, entry way and front porch. If you served barbecue like this in Texas you would be shot. I'm not an expert but my barbecue experience has been far and wide and dickeys offering dinner want cut the mustard. To start they were under staffed for the usual lunch hour rush and I watched two potential customers walk out while waiting in line. A cashier is much needed so the cooks can concentrate on taking orders and prepping the food. I can deal with a wait if the food is good but it got a little ridiculous after I ordered the food The food was subpar at best. The brisket was dry bordering on jerky like tenderness with very little flavor. Chicken was Lukewarm and cut into chunks instead of shredded or pulled for a sandwich again not much flavor. The pulled pork had a decent tenderness to it, a little moist and little flavor. The sausage was the only stand out with good flavor and tenderness but a little spicy but good kick. Slaw and potato casserole sides were generic with a weird taste in the casserole which was not much more than mashed potatoes with toppings. Barbecue tastes range far and wide and some will enjoy this chain but foodies should avoid this chain the potential let down of a hohum meal. read more

First time to a Dickeys. The people were nice. The meats were varied. The turkey breast was the best item we ordered. Pulled pork and biscuit were both fairly dry. Not horrible but not great. First main complaint is the BBQ sauce selection. There are three and in our opinion all three were not to our liking. Next is the plastic glasses for drinks. They don't have paper glasses or ones they wash. They are thick plastic glasses I guess they expect you to take home and keep. It seems like a huge waste to me. They have the good, Sonic-type ice and FREE soft serve ice-cream. Will go back once more to get another experience. read more

What is interesting about this specific Dickey's is that it is run by husband and wife Michael and Ingrid Jackson. Ingrid was an accountant and her husband has owned and operated a construction company for the past 20 years. After Ingrid suffered a severe head injury in a car accident five years ago, she found that bosses were unwilling to hire her - so she went out and started her own. This is a patient and loving couple that deserve the best. But getting back to brass tacks - the food and service are worth the trek, so check it out. read more

I also ordered 25 ribs and the majority of them were fat, the flavor was barely edible, and they were supposed to be original and spicy all plain, no bbq sauce at all. Wonderful service! They offered tastes of everything my husband and I werent sure about. The manger/owner? came out and made sure everything was fresh for us. They were having a deal on the desserts (pie slices for a buck) and when my husband got the apple pie, the owner told him to bring it back up after his lunch and he would heat it up for him.
