2 Meat plate with a roll, chopped brisket and chicken- both were dry but chicken had really good flavor
Manda C.

We ordered in delivery a couple of weeks ago. I am not the biggest fan of Dickey's Barbecue as a chain, but this was my first time eating from this particular location. I ordered a 2 meat plate, which comes with 2 sides and a roll for $14.85. I went with the chopped brisket, chicken breast, mac n cheese and the baked potato casserole. I didn't have high expectations, but I still found the meat incredibly dry. On the plus side, the sides were great and the roll was fine. Now the meat tasted fine, it was just dried out, which does effect the texture. The brisket was the worse offender, the chicken was dry but had significant flavor and was the favorite. The mac n cheese was above standard, especially for the reputation most bbq places have for ruining sides. The baked potato casserole was exceptionally good. Great texture, layered savory flavor- it saved the entire meal for me! Hell, maybe I'll just come by and order sides for when we are grilling at home. Now this is fast food quality, which is fine, except the price is too high. The portion size is fine, but the main point of the meal is the meat and that just doesn't taste like $14.85 quality to me. That's my biggest gripe with the chain in general. I won't return often, but when you consider this is a chain bbq place, it's right about where expectations fall. If you want great, well, keep looking.

My favorites are the Rooster Tails (fried onions) and the chips and queso, but the real stars of the menu are the burgers. They're always fresh, hot, and juicy. The free peanuts are a nice touch, and they offer daily specials as well. I really miss the Bloody Mary bar, which was always a lot of fun, but their Sunday special makes up for it with a generous double for just $7. There's always a game on TV, which is a welcome break when you've had enough politics to last a lifetime. The servers and bartenders are consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. And whatever you do, don't forget to ask about the Yahtzee Roll at the bar. If you know, you know!

There's a full bar on both floors as well. The staff was pretty attentive, but the wait for food took a long time. I was happy the cocktails came pretty quickly and were well-made. The food was all pretty good for the most part not wowed but good! I have no complaints about my plate; it came with a great portion of food and was reasonably priced for BBQ. I ordered pulled pork and a side of corn and tomato salad and coleslaw. The sides were different from what I've had before, but I did enjoy them. Their coleslaw is more vinegar than mayo-forward. The pulled pork was well-seasoned, and the side of BBQ was the perfect match. My margarita tasted as if they made the mix in-house, and I prefer this. Store-bought mixers are usually either too sweet or too sour. However, if it is store-bought, I'm impressed! This was not a sweet margarita. My partner went for the Tennessee Texas Hot Sandwich; I did try it. There was hardly any heat despite it being their spicy chicken sandwich. I'm not sure if they make their chips in house but it seemed so.

It was not food from another restaurant but safe food from home. When we tried to get more information we were told it was a liability issue as the manager walked away from the table. There are no signs posted and we were not told this until we had already ordered and seated eating our food as a family. We went ahead and finished our meal and on the way out stopped to speak to another employee, the location is now under corporate and none of the other employees knew of this new rule. Sadly, we will not be retuning for this reason.

Always a good place to grab some beer from people who want beer to have fun and start relaxing in…read morethe hometown to beat all hometowns: Denton, Texas. Inside is probably the best selection of foreign beer from Germany, the nation most sources credit with inventing the ancient lineage of combining Malted barley, hops, and brewer's yeast, with a sugar in order to produce fermentation in time. It's a great resource for good beer lovers who enjoy the culture of Europe and the convenience of a business on the fringes of Idiot's Hill, which is the most popular suburb, where TWU and UNT faculty members have opulent homes on the hills near Woodrow Wilson Elementary school, where I have both studied and volunteered in the Special Education division, where teachers collaborated with their students and created a worthy positive impact on their children. We ordered the Saturday Special which were ribs plate and we also ordered a reuben sandwich, the sides we picked were the German potato salad, corn, beans and pickled fries. The Reuben sandwich was too greasy and the sauerkraut didn't taste fresh, it was not a great choice, the ribs were dry, not hot and tasteless. The sides were not good. They were there but not good. I get Metzler's is a wine and beer spot and the food part is just there, but I was hoping for a much better quality of food from them especially considering they were given great reviews and 3+ stars. Maybe we got them on a bad day, but it is what it is.

Loads of fresh berries, and the shaved steak was perfectly cooked. When my friend cautiously told the person working the counter that the grilled chicken on her salad tasted a little off, the chef also came out and immediately offered to prepare her a whole new plate. They were kind and apologetic, and my friend enjoyed her dish once the issue was resolved. Personally, I probably won't be back. But I can see why Andersons is popular among the locals.
