A friend pointed out a great deal in the Tiger Bucks coupon book--at Dickey's Barbecue Pit, if you buy a Big Yellow Cup, you get a free sandwich. That led me to try the Dickey's off Burbank Drive in Arlington. I had both the chicken and brisket sandwiches, and I really enjoyed them. Just a heads-up: they come on a plain brioche bun with only the meat, so I recommend adding barbecue sauce and extra dressing for more flavor. As for sides, I've tried the okra and a few others, but honestly, the fries are the best--they're amazing. With the coupon, you can get a sandwich, a Big Yellow Cup drink, and fries for under five bucks on your first visit. If you're around Arlington, grab a Tiger Bucks coupon book from Rouses or another local spot and try Dickey's or one of the other great places featured. Definitely worth it!

We were in a large alcove at the back of the restaurant. It was spacious and elegant, even with the table ended up being almost entirely filled. Our waiter was enthusiastic and patient with our large party. Refills and check-ins were timed well. The drink selection was pretty extensive. Food was delicious and all delivered within minutes of one another (no one was stuck waiting for long). Burger was cooked to perfection and not TOO hot. I hate when food is so hot in temperature that you can't take a bite. The chocolate cake was good, but the whip cream tasted kinda fake/oily. The cake itself was medium density and had a slightly salted finish. It paired perfectly with the frosting which was very rich and extra sweet. A delightful pairing. For my drink, plus a double shot of whiskey, the burger and dessert, it came to just over $100. That feels expensive. Take that as you will. I wouldn't return mostly due to price. But quality on everything was great, and so was the service. Atmosphere was great too.

Ambiance was good. -2 stars because we sat at the bar on a Friday night and the bartenders were very lackluster. Barely spoke to us. The place wasn't overly busy either. We tried to make conversation and it fell flat every time. We enjoy making small talk with bartenders that's why we chose to sit there. Not sure if it was an off night or what. The lounge section was also closed due to a private party. Understandable but we wanted to have an after dinner cocktail. Overall we'd go back and sit at a regular table.

I went for the lunch buffet for $13.99 and feel like the BR location def has more options than the NOLA location (I haven't been to that spot in over a year though). There are some seafood options during lunch (salt and pepper crab, salmon, assortment of fish, and mussels) but if you want a wider variety, dinner is the way to go. I didn't try the sushi because the majority of them were always wiped out but the chefs in the back were doing their best to replenish whenever they could. Nothing to extraordinary with the sushi, I feel like you could get most of em at the grocery store. My favs at lunch were hands down the salmon and the baked mussels w cheese on top. The salmon was SEASONED SO WELL and I just kept going back for more. The mussels and cheese was def a hit too bc I could see the chefs restock every so often. There's unlimited boba (not included in the buffet) and I had the mango, which tasted watered down to me. The ice cream was amazing, got a mix of the taro and mango. The cakes were extremely dry and the mousse was the only thing saving it from totally crumbling in my mouth. For the most part, the food was piping hot, but there were a few options that were cold when I ate them, hence the 4 stars. The staff were incredibly sweet and would clean tables immediately after someone would leave.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with stellar customer service that set the tone for our entire experience. Our waiter, Justice, was truly delightful. It was an absolute pleasure being served by him. He was incredibly friendly, patient and attentive, especially with our party of 14, which included children. His attention to detail and welcoming demeanor stood out, and his positive energy elevated our experience. Justice went above and beyond, and his efforts did not go unnoticed! The entire staff working on Saturday, April 4 was top notch. Everyone we encountered was warm, helpful and professional. From the food and drinks to the atmosphere and overall service, everything exceeded our expectations. I can say this was a 5 Star Brunch experience. I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in Louisiana!

We made a reservation and were seated quickly but that's where the best part of the evening ended. There was a steady stream of people coming in and the restaurant is packed. The garage doors at the other side of the restaurant were open so it was hell a hot!! In mid-august!!! We ordered drinks and only three of the four were delivered. The fourth was eventually delivered. We order food and it was at best a 3. The best plate was the boudin quesadilla. I thought it was going to be small but was filling. The po boy didn't have any condiments on it and when I asked for cocktail sauce I was told they didn't have any!!!! How can you serve a shrimp po boy sandwich and not have cocktail sauce?!?! The fries were ok. But one of our party ordered her friend extra crispy and they were the second best thing served. The ketchup is bbq sauce mixed with ketchup. Interesting but not what was wanted for fries. Sean was our waiter and he was as good as he could be. He wasn't in charge of the drinks or the food or the heat. All in all I would not recommend SoLou.

The menu had so many great options, I definitely need to go back to try a few things!! Everything was so flavorful and cooked to perfection! Our waitress was very polite and professional. She answered all of our questions as best she could and if she didn't know she went to ask. I appreciate the chef for allowing me to sample the crawfish etouffè because I never had it before and wasn't sure if it was something I'd like and it was offered on many of the dishes, it was pretty good. The restaurant was not very crowded, I guess we missed the lunch rush and the students are all packing up to end the school year anyway. The boneless wings looked good but I didn't try any. Would I come back? Yes - if I go to another LSU game, but that'd probably be the only reason. Again, the service and atmosphere was good.
