Diamond Pacific recently delivered lumber to a neighbor for a home renovation project. Along the way the driver of their delivery truck hit and totalled our parked family car. Now Diamond Pacific (through their insurance company) is denying us fair compensation to properly replace this reliable car, which our daughter uses to get to work. Rather than do the right thing and replace the car and make us whole they are playing the low ball game. Oh gosh. These guys...... I needed to order some roofing materials for a job that we were doing. Only about $150 worth of product. They quoted a 2 week delivery time, but would not take the order via phone. I'm all the way across the county from them, and they wanted me to do 1.5hr round trip to make the order, before they could even get it on the way. Couldn't take my card by phone and just verify when I arrived to pick up, like a normal and rational company. I can order $150 in pizza over the phone...but not anything from Diamond Pacific. Love the staff and crew, they really care and are friendly and do the best job they can. While driving down Folsom blvd with my children in the car (around 1:30pm 5/25) my daughter decided she wanted to make the drivers day by smiling and waving at him. Extremely unprofessional, expensive place to go. Do not apply for a business credit account here unless you want your personal credit ran without permission. No where on the app did I see that they run a personal credit report. Dealing with Christine is like dealing with a mindless zombie. Incapable of returning an email, phone call, or written message left with the font desk. Worthless. I thought I applied for a business credit account. Lousy company to do business with because their cashier, although I asked if the items were returnable, neglected to inform me there was a restocking fee. And guess what.........the item was returned and because the tranaction was completed on their end, but still not showing up on my credit card, there was no way the restocking fee could be credited back to me. I needed lumber that Home Depot did not have so I went to Diamond Pacific. What a bad choice. The worst customer service ever, zero help getting my product, surly guy at the gate. They need some managers and training in the yard, it was an absolute mess of broken boards and trash everywhere. Every time I parked some guy would have me move to another place so another guy could have move... too bad I wanted to shop local but Not going back! My wife and I recently placed a $20,000 order for deck rail and synthetic deck material. We selected the products that we wanted and talked to a salesman called Dale Park. He assured us that the rail was always in stock and the decking could be obtained within three days. We gave the info to our Contractor and he went in to place the order. He also was told by Dale that the railing was always in stock and the decking can be obtained within three days. This was not true!!! He could only get half of the decking and the rail was out of stock. He told the Contractor that it would now take two weeks. After a few weeks the Contractor had to lay his crew off and leave the job. Dale then told me it would be another 10 days. Then he told my Contractor it would yet another 10 days. Non of the information was accurate. He seemed to just make this stuff up! I then decided to take Diamond Pacific out of the equation. I left a message with the Manufacturer, stating that this antiquated lumber store made them look bad. I actually got a call from their Rep at midday on a Sunday. She told me the truth. My order had not been manufactured but she had enough in a Sacramento warehouse to get the job done. So, my Contractor was great and the Manufacturer were great but Dale at Diamond Pacific just tells lies. There is nothing worse than being lied to!!! read more

Special ordered 5 16' long Douglas Fir beams to repair a pergola in September 2019. Beams had Corbels cut on each end. End cost was around $1800. The beams arrived the first time with Corbel only on 1 end. Sent the beams back to Diamond Pacific. I called DP on status on several occasions but to no avail. Finally the beams were delivered in January, just in time for the rainy season. When the beams were delivered the quality was really substandard. Called DP to complain and was told there was nothing they could do to rectify the issue. Going forward I will not be considering DP for any future construction projects. Wayside lumber is the best choice by far. Same beams would have cost me $178.00. About half price and a 1 week delivery special cut. read more

First, I purchased some hardware ( Simpson tie straps) and some lumber. I grabbed the tie straps from the bins, myself. I asked for help with the lumber but no one came to help, so I loaded it myself...( I am a 54 yr old woman) quite capable but help would have been nice. Two hours later I returned the tie straps ( $53.00 worth ) as I discovered I did not need them. These people charged me $8 ( that's eight dollars) restocking fee on tie straps..I could have turned and put in the bin myself.... OMG... Seriously????? I watched out my window in disappointment as one of Diamond Pacific's lumber delivery drivers finished his cigarette and threw the butt on the ground. We live in the lovely foothills of Placerville in a nice residential area, where the risk of fire is great here, not to mention, NONE of us want cigarette butts littering our yards or small streams. My family and I are building a modest home in placerville. We have spent months narrowing down details like lumber and after speaking with Joe in the sales department, we were convinced that diamond pacific was absolutely the best option. They insisted on great service, lumber and of course they're local. We were WRONG and most everything they said was a lie and only said to get our business. Unethical practices in my opinion. My contractor and I have both been there in person and spoken to them over the phone several times. They've given timeframes for lumber delivery and we've arranged our crews based on this information. We've had teams of framers, underground work, earth movers, etc. waiting and lumber was delivered DAYS after it was promised. Literally days. Just yesterday my contractor showed up to their office to discuss the multiple late deliveries and the cost of paying guys to sit around. The owner and Joe made nice saying they'd be out this morning to bring coffee and take a look at the job site. 7am was what they committed to. Well you probably already know, they never showed. They forgot. My contractor was there from ROSEVILLE at 7am and they never even called. He drove down to their office and the only thing they could say is they forgot. Wow, rude. This is how they run this business and this is how they treat their lumber deliveries. Prior to contracting with them for the $60k in lumber we need to build, we had several communications with them. All were reassuring on how great their service was and the convenience of their location. They are flaky and have caused major delays in our build. Most of which have been costly too. Wednesday and Thursday we had to pay 5 union framers to stand around for two full days. We also lost our full crew to another job this week because they couldn't afford to wait again without lumber. A two week delay in our framing while my family of 6 lives in a temporary mobile on our property that's a whopping 800 sq ft. Nice, thanks Diamond pacific. They have zero professionalism. Frankly I don't care how nice they are or what they say to sweeten the deal. Bottom line is, they've not kept their word, telling us lumber is in route and it comes the next day or two days later. This is just unacceptable and has happened at least twice. We are only at the foundation so we have a long way to go where needing lumber is concerned. We are at a point in our build that we've elected to take our remaining business to Wayside. If you're building, I wouldn't recommend using them unless time is absolutely not important and you're not bothered by being BS'd for every dialogue. Bye bye diamond pacific. It's a surprise they're even in business. Thankfully we only have the foundation done. Unfortunately for them, only floor joists and foundation lumber have been delivered. They're definitely losing money from this, rightfully so. Horrible company that's ALL talk and no action. They don't give a hoot about their customers. Just a bunch of lip service and flakes. Sure wish we had known beforehand but today was the final straw. I'm on a schedule to build my house and my family is making a lot of sacrifices in the meantime. Totally inconsiderate and disrespectful on their part. I won't buy as much as a 2x4 from them ever again and I will strongly suggest everyone else to take their business to a company that deserves it. I hate to say it but thank God Home Depot opened a store in Placerville. Diamond Pacific charged me 30% more than Home Depot for the same item and then charged me a 15% re-stock fee when I returned it the day after purchase. The re-stock fee was NOT stated on the receipt and was for a hardware item right off the store floor. I asked the salesperson where they provided notice of the re-stock fee and he directed me to a small-print sign behind the checkout that I couldn't even have read without squinting. Well, that little deception chased me off for good. I guess the folks at Diamond Pacific just like the look of an empty store. read more

This lumberyard is an absolute joke. They have obviously never been to wayside lumber 20 minutes away. It's nearly impossible to get help loading anything here, and the people at the desk taking orders seem miserable and that you're inconveniencing their day. Went there today and it will be the last time I ever go there they wasted two hours of my time and the end result I have to go to wayside lumber. I hope this place either gets new management new ownership or just shuts down. I will be more than happy to go out of my way to go to wayside lumber or even Home Depot venues them read more

Unlike most of the other Yelp reviews on this business I had an excellent experience at Diamond Pacific. I am constructing a pizza oven and needed fire brick and related mortar supplies. I received excellent customer service at the sales counter and on the phone while searching for the afore mentioned supplies. I was told where to find the supplies and instructed to drive my truck around back and load the supplies then return to pay. I started loading my fire bricks and within one minute I had help from an employee. The whole process was fast and easy and the friendly staff made it a great experience. I could ask no more and will do future business there. read more

WORSE PLACE EVER TO BUY METAL ROOFING! My husband went there thinking he was going to get some expert advice...NOT! The person helping him took over an hour to order supplies, told us it would be here in 7-10 days. 3 weeks later we called to find out it was in their yard. He didn't order all the right pieces to complete the roof and told us we could try and call their supplier to see if we could pick it up ourselves. Horrible customer service. Just to find out we can't, we had to buy it through them. 2 months later and we are still trying to get the right pieces. Panels came in on one side over a foot long and the other 2 inches. Which means each panel had to be recut to size. A lot of wasted material at 3 dollars a foot. WE/I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! read more

Pretty bad customer service. The girl who answers the phone and I assume sits at the front desk is borderline rude and really makes no effort to help you find what you need. I was in there for 15 minutes or more looking for something, had multiple employees walk by, look at me and keep on walking and not ask if I needed anything or had any questions. I called them on a Monday to get lumber for a DIY project I was doing at my house. The woman I spoke with initially was very helpful and she emailed me a quote. I called back 30 minutes later to arrange for payment and delivery but she wasn't available. The gentleman who answered the phone said they couldn't take payment over the phone but they could email me the form and in the meantime he would put me on the schedule for Thursday. Several hours later I hadn't received the email so I tried calling but got no answer. I stopped by around 4:15 to make the payment in person but they were close, no problem. I went in first thing the next morning and that's when things feel apart. The people at the counter were so rude. They acted like I was an inconvenience and a pain in their butt. Then they told me they forgot to schedule me and could deliver it the next week. I said I would just pick it up and would like to pay. They don't take payment until I pick up and I had to load myself but they had people who are there to help with pickup. Fine. I showed up a few days later and went into the yard. The people int he yard are USELESS! They wouldn't make eye contact, let alone help. The guy at the gate walked up putting on gloves and asked how much I was getting, I said 9 pieces, he shook his head and said he was going to get a forklift and walked away. I got everything loaded by myself and he then showed up and said he couldn't find a forklift. There were no less than 9 guys walking around doing nothing, leaning on forklifts, or trying to hide behind stacks of materials. I went inside to pay and low and behold I was still an inconvenience and they treated me like I shouldn't even be there. This process repeated itself again in the afternoon when i went back for more materials. They are lucky they are the only game in town because they SUCK! I see nothing has changed since a review in 2016! I'm going down the hill from now on. read more

I have been shopping at Diamond Pacific for 8 years, I continually find the better deals their, and I find that I'm saving time ($) picking up from their yard vs the wharehouser. As a contractor I am sending my clients and other professionals to Diamond over the "big box" stores all the time. The customer service and knowledge out performs them by far. read more
