Save yourself the headache and use George Reed quarry instead, this place is a joke. The service between George Reed and here is night and day. Ordered 30 tons of large rock from these jokers and they're very inconsistent with rock sizing. Looks like IMO someone just took a jackhammer attached to an excavator / track loader to break up the rock and they didn't use an actual rock crushing machine that keeps sizing consistent. They use gravel to add weight (see pics) and lie about the dimensions of rock you actually receive. The owner threatened to sue my 75 year old father because he rejected the load and stopped payment. The owner even mailed threatening documents AFTER he was given orders to remove the rock off the property. I wonder why the owner didn't take the rock back? Makes you wonder right? I'm sure the subconscious mind knows the truth. This is how this business operates ladies and gentlemen. Ethics is not based on what you're legally allowed to do but what is morally right to do. Avoid at all costs. ***UPDATE**** 6/24/2025 In response to the owner; if the owner of Sierra Rock claims he delivered 18 minus rock that is "12-18 inches" then why did he physically refuse to pick up the rock when asked? (pictures, a tape measure and the human eyes clearly show the owner is full of sh-t) If the rock is really 12-18 inches, then you can easily pick it up right? (I did) The owner got flustered when he was told to pick the rock up because he knew it was too big and not what was ordered. The owner dashed to his truck and drove off after being called out for delivering gravel and using it as added weight that we got charged for. (Thats the actions of somebody that knows they've been caught) The truck driver also realized after getting to the property the rock was also wrong and not what was ordered. (thats a separate issue) If you actually read the other 1 star reviews, ALL the complaints are the same. The owner will drive to your property, has an attitude, he's cocky and doubles down, plays the denial game and won't accept responsibility for anything. Another $1,200 had to be shelled out to get an excavator to move all the rock because it was too big and wrong. There was no resolution by the owner. Complete fabricated LIE! The owner was warned the order was wrong and was told multiple times for over 3-4 days to come pick up the rock in which we were blown off, ONLY THEN stop payment was put on by the bank. I have ordered over 126 TONS of rip rap 18 minus rock on my property and the owner STILL continues to BS and lie to save face publicly. If the owner wants to rectify the situation then he should give us a $2,500 check back but of course he won't because he has zero integrity. ZERO!!! I've had Sierra Rock deliver in the past and the driver was excellent and offered good suggestions. Today I went to their yard and was greeted by a friendly and informative staff. There is quite a history in this business and they shared some photos and stories. It's a working operation with blasting and heavy equipment operating so be prepared for a safety lesson before pulling your trailer down for a load. We had a fantastic experience working with Sierra Rock. The customer service representative, the driver, and the business owner were really nice and professional. They also showed up on time too. The job is done, and it looks great. I was referred to this company after installing a new septic and leach field, because their road base is a superior, locally sourced product that when compacted it locks together better than other road base products. I also thought the prices were very reasonable too, compared to other local companies. Have used Sierra Rock many times, drivers are always very helpful. Delivery was on time and very quick. Great company to work with. I had 18 yards of roadbase delivered and 9 yards of it got dumped in a giant pile in a very bad spot. The driver admitted it was his fault that he'd forgotten to hook up the chains that regulate material delivery. I called the owner who came out to look at it and said I should have called him as they would have sent out some equipment and operator. Instead I had my neighbor come with his backhoe and spend 2 hrs spreading the huge pile. The other offer the owner made was $50 off the next load. I'd paid $480 for the first load and $430 for the 2nd load if I ordered more. Instead I had 5 yards delivered from another outfit for $290. The driver who delivered from the other company made the comment "if later you don't like where our load was dumped call us and we'll move it" At our location where 5000 cars a-day drive by I put a sign that said "Sierra Rock customer service BAD" The story must have got out. I am a senior and have a long bumpy downhill drive way which needed leveling and rerocking. I receive estimates of $5000 and up to rock and compact my drive from contractors ...whenever they could get around to it ... cant afford that. I called Sierra Rock and Quarry on Quarry road and Eric the owner came out the next day and gave me an estimate of $1100. He came the next morning and smooth, graded and rocked the drive and added 20 yards of road base. The job was perfect and more than I expected .. We are Very happy and will recommend Eric to all our neighbors. read more

We needed driveway gravel. Went to see them. Totally friendly Linda showed us samples, prepared a nice quote... Today, Nick the driver showed up with 18 tons of washed crushed 3/4" and spread the gravel as easily as an artist paints with a brush. Amazing! He suggested and did what needed to be done before I even told him. Now THAT'S experience! Plus, he gave us a terrific tip on a better type of gravel for a part of driveway that gets drainage. He did such a great job that we gave him a tip. And the invoice was exactly what Linda had quoted. Purchased road base for our driveway (limestone 3/4 crushed) and physically went to look at samples. We Selected desired rock and purchased and loaded our trailer. We purchased additional material and had delivered through the company but the material delivered was completely different in color. The owner physically came and looked at difference and basically said it was out of the companies control....yet they offer samples to look at to select from and we WERE NEVER told that color could be completely different or vary that drastically. Paid a lot of money for a driveway that looks dirty. read more

I had never ordered rock before, so I wanted to go into the office nd see exactly what I wanted to get, although I knew it was road base. The office personnel was very helpful nd answered all my questions and gave me some tips for spreading it. The day of delivery I got a call saying they were on their way. The driver arrived on time and was friendly. He delivered the rock exactly where I wanted it and he even went above and beyond which make it a lot easier on me to spread. Good people and great work! Had a big load of A-B for my driveway and he did a great job even though it was pouring rain!

The guys in the yard were great and super helpful but the ladies at the front office need to be a little bit more clear in regards to their rules / regulations, we came in for one load of A.B. rock (4yards) with two trailers because one wouldn't fit all of what we were getting so I was charge $50 for one of the vehicles because it of it not meeting their minimum. They never specified that there would be a charge per vehicle if it did not meet the minimum, instead of saying per load. Seeing how we just did one order of 4 yards but had to use 2 vehicles I was charged 50????!!!!!!! On top of that I asked for 4 yards but was given over 7 yards. Then when it was explained to me at the front office after everything was all done and I already paid then they told me "lesson learned " WTF what kind of customer service is that.??!! read more
