The Meadow is an awesome place. It is a garden center, plant nursery, and a yoga studio right in Placerville, CA. Beautiful, rustic property with simple, peaceful charm. It is owned by a local woman entrepreneur. The garden center building is compact and filled with practical functional items and fun decorative items (perfect gift items). Some of the items are heirloom and organic flower & vegetable seeds, seed potatoes, plant food, gardening tools, houseplants, pots/planters, garden art, and wind chimes... just to name a few. Outside is the nursery with native flowers and plants, fruit trees, and vegetable plants. The outdoor area is compact. The plants are labeled to indicate if they are deer resistant which is important in these parts. Deer is abundant in these parts, and they have an appetite. The nursery inventory is thoughtfully laid out. Towards the back of the outside nursery is where the yoga studio is located. In addition to the yoga studio, there is a concrete patio with a view of the nursery below . That is where the outdoor yoga classes are held. They offer instruction in various types of yoga. The class schedule and pricing is posted on their website. Take a peek, pricing averages $15 a class and 10 class purchase is $120. The owner recently opened a cafe on the property. Nourish Cafe serves up cold pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, artisanal coffee, nourishing soups, and vibrant salads. Finding parking can be challenging. There is about 12 dedicated parking spaces in front on Green Valley Road. However, this place is popular. On the Sunday I dropped in, I parked across the street in front of another business which was closed on Sunday. I frogger-ed across busy Green Valley Road. read more

I discovered this studio in July while looking for a community where I could deepen my yoga practice. What I experienced was so much more than I could ever have anticipated. This is the most wholesome, incredible community with the best classes and instructors I've experienced (and I've experienced A LOT). I drive from Folsom to take classes at The Meadow as often as possible, driving right past my gym down the street, which just hits so different once I started taking these classes. There's no comparison to even the best of gyms/offerings. Yoga Church on Saturday mornings is an incredible experience that truly feels uplifting and transformative. I've taken many classes and participated in many offerings here by several incredible instructors. I've never been disappointed and always leave in a state of bliss. I've taken Barre, Strong, Yin, Sunrise Yoga and many of the specialty classes they put on. They also hold space for women's circles, mantra singing, and so many unique experiences that I've loved. Last night the owner, Eden, hosted an incredible evening of movement, mantra, and meditation in women's circle. It was so powerful, moving, and incredible. More women, and men, need to know about the magic of The Meadow. Several men participate in classes as well and my husband has joined me for mantra. It's been healing for him, and for us as a couple as well. Being part of this community has honestly been transformative in my life and my healing journey. I love to support local businesses and this is one I stop by whenever I'm in the area and have the time to browse. You will find plants here that are not at the big box stores. I love this place! It is like an oasis. Sometimes I just go to walk around and look. However, I have also purchased all of my flowers there. They have unique varieties not found elsewhere. We're happy to have an independent nursery in town! The people here were friendly and knowledgeable without pestering us. There was a lot of variety to choose from and there's more room for them to expand their inventory. They have soil amendments, fertilizers, hand tools, and seeds and a fun gift selection in their indoor area. This place is awesome, a beautiful Nursery in a Park setting. We were greeted by one of the guys that worked at another landmark Nursery ( no longer around) , we felt very comfortable as we looked through all their beautifully arranged plants and shrubs. I can honestly say that this guy is very knowledgeable about plants , and will tell you everything you need to know about which plants do best in our climate. You owe it to yourself to try The Meadow!! It's leaps and bounds over HD and any other Nursery in the Area! The prices are very reasonable. They have everything covered from A-Z. read more

I've been here a couple times before because I'd rather support small business than go to Home Depot for plants. This trip today I was blown away by the lack of customer service. The one employee there was a younger girl who not once greeted me or asked if I needed help. When I went to counter to pay for my flowers she got on the phone and immediately started chatting with someone about looking someone up on Facebook. I stood there for over 6 minutes while she looked at me and continued talking on the phone when I obviously was there to pay and checkout. Eventually, I gave up and walked out of the place empty handed. I even left everything I picked out on the counter. Never had a problem like this before. Normally very friendly and helpful but it seems this girl needs some training in customer service. They lost my business today. read more
