Good spot to get bark. Workers are friendly. I had 10 yards delivered and the truck driver put it exactly where I wanted it. Good job!

I go here if I have too. It is a shame because they are close to me but they have bad customer service.

Sadly, after the three year mark things took a turn for the worse and it died. I was devastated and disheartened but still intrigued and continued to visit local bonsai shows in my area. In April of 2016 I attended one such local show and found myself in a discussion with the grower of a beautiful cascading juniper. His name was Ron Anderson. I was excited to learn that he offered classes in the care and art of bonsai. I bought the Juniper on the spot , signed up for my first class in his 3.5 year program and the rest, as they say, is history. Ron is a brilliant teacher and an all-around great guy. He is patient and incredibly knowledgeable, with an impressive ability to adeptly communicate with students of all levels. My experience under his tutelage has gone from total beginner to commanding a strong understanding of the basics in bonsai maintenance: how trees work, how bonsai works, bonsai styles, pots, displaying trees, equipment, basic care, seasonal maintenance, tasks and troubleshooting. The more I learn the more I realize how much more there is to learn. We meet once a month to work on all types of trees, ranging from very immature bonsai to more mature, finished trees of all types: coniferous, deciduous, evergreen, flowering and so on. The groups are small and friendly and Ron never fails to serve a delicious lunch. I have become close with many of the other students in the program and getting together with the whole group is always a great time. Ron has trees, tools and soil mixes for purchase. I cannot recommend Ron and his bonsai school strongly enough. It has absolutely been a life changing experience.

Awesome bonsai and very nice and helpful owners. Lots of classes offered also! Bonus a sweet garden…read morekitty accompanied us on our walk.

The shop sells bbqs, outdoor furniture, pots, houseplants, garden art, landscaping supplies, gardening supplies, seeds, soil, fertilizer, trees, shrubs, flowers, vegetable plants... you get the gist. Plus the pricing is comparable to the big box shops. We recently popped into this location to check out their tree selection. We were looking for trees with a smallish spread and height. Mel, the gentleman working in the outdoor nursery, was super helpful. He provided advice on the tree planting distance from fixed physical obstructions and recommended various trees for a particular square footage. He also took the time to show us the trees even though it was a hot balmy day. He was obliging. He didn't complain about the heat unlike my whiny self. Additionally, he even told us about the cons of each tree wanting to provide us useful information to help us make the best selection for our landscaping needs. All the trees looked healthy and prices were competitive. The one star reduction is due to the consistent uncleanliness of the bathrooms. My oh my. Not sure if they have a janitorial staff during business hours.

I loved just looking up inside this building, you could see the old workings from it past. It seems like half a mile of plants. The inventory is huge and I could have spent a Million dollars here . And the plants were reasonably priced. Better than big box nurseries. Rare plants. My friend and I were in Heaven. There's a Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating that's always booked. Reservations are essential, my friend and I thought we could slip in and have lunch, it was a 45 minute wait, only finding that out after we had stood in line for over 20 minutes plus.. The property is like a beautiful garden with a koi pond and wonderful garden art that I wanted so, so badly. Money . There's also an olive oil and vinegar tasting room and a separate gift shop all in this wonderful warehouse setting. My friend bought 2 oils costing $40.00 . But they were exquisite, beautiful and flavorful and unique tasting. Yum. High hand also has a venue for weddings and I believe a brewery. It's mind blowing ! Serious gardeners must visit there. It's about a two hour drive from Reno. I give it 5 stars absolutely..

I enjoyed myself in the nursery after eating at High Hand Cafe. I walked around to find myself greeted by beautiful plants and trees. They had unique fruit trees; various types of plums. I noticed there was a succulent making station with clear directions on how to make one. This was a cool part of the nursery. I enjoyed the koi pond along with the decor. There was a few places on this property to check out but on the day I went, the register outside was closed and directed customers who wanted to buy anything to go to the shop inside to make purchases. I appreciated this direct communication. When I looked at the various plants, I did not see anything wrong with the prices. I found you got what you paid for. These are unique and beautiful plants priced just right. If you haven't been to High Hand in Loomis yet, I highly suggest you check it out!
