But there is no way I could resist stopping in the Nursery to check out all the beautiful plants. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Pricing is not outrageous. This is one of the few independent owned local nurseries not yet gobbled up by a big franchise. On this past visit, I bought a bell pepper plant and a jalapeño pepper plant. The plants were about 3-4 inches tall and $3.99 each. They were healthy and gorgeous looking. Know it's up to me to keep these gems alive. Ohhh the pressure. They have a large assortment.... they have a bit of everything... succulents, roses, fruit trees, shade trees, houseplants, and seasonal vegetable plants. They also carry plant food, soil, garden decorations, pots, and gardening tools. The setup is rural and rustic but not amateurish. The parking lot is a gravel lot as is the nursery grounds. So leave your high heels at home. Another thing ... that unlike the big box shops, El Dorado Nursery does not have warranties or provide refunds for plants. Plus no dogs are allowed. They wreak havoc on the mental health of the resident chickens.

I have been an occasional consigner/customer with the store for the past few years. My items have…read morealways sold and always rather quickly. Unfortunately, I have had a bad experience that I feel it's important for any future consigners and/or customers to be made aware of. Last summer I dropped off some items to sell. Not long afterwards I checked my account and discovered I had sold a few of my items. My share of the proceeds came to a total f roughly $37 and some odd cents. I made the drive up to the store to pick up my check as that was how it was explained to me, the store did not mail out checks. I did not mind as I always enjoyed the store and was a good customer as well. However, when I asked for my check I was told there was not one in the "kitty" and that they would leave a message for the owner and she would contact me. Twice more I drove up the hill to the store and it was the story both times. I just now spoke with Shannon (store owner). She validated the fact that there should have been a check for $37 for me but because it had been a year, she had "no way" of giving me the money she owed me now. I am appalled by her response and just cannot grasp how someone can be so dishonest and unethical! When she decides to pay me what she owes me, I will then maybe take my comment down but not until then. Also, there were a few nicer items I delivered that have never been accounted for and when I visited the following month upon dropping them off, the staff was never able to locate them so I'm not sure what possibly could have happened to them nir did I ever received any notification as to whether they sold or were more or less donated.

I recall having been there years before. Its been awhile. The whole place has a rural feel, the entire lot is small and has no paved parking lot. It's all gravel. They don't have a dedicated parking lot, find a spot that doesn't block the flow of traffic. They do have designated handicap spots. Or you can park next door at the El Dorado Nursery and walk over using their secret gate. Ok it's not a secret just ask the staff, they will be happy to guide you. But gotta say that the nursery parking lot is also gravel and not particularly large. It is not a long walk, they are right next to each other separated by a fence. The trailer office at Acer's has samples of the materials lined up on a shelf. Great. That way you don't have roam their lot in the heat. You can if you want to though. Also inside the office are large wall boards with the pricing. They got stonewalls, geowalls, cinderblocks, Italian pavers, estate walls, fire pits, techno soil (don't know what that is but they have 16 varieties), flagstone (over 20)... rock in decorative colors, types, and sizes... bark also in different types, colors, sizes., The staff here are super helpful, friendly, and professional. They have some characters that made me laugh and others that are more business like but not at all unfriendly. We ended up ordering materials and setting up a delivery time and paying the fee. The pricing was cheaper than another material shop located in Rancho Cordova, CA. Acer was even able to deliver the next day on a Sunday. Wow... Sunday, that's rare. But we scheduled it for a weekday instead. We were given a 2 hour delivery timeframe. The driver called within 15-20 minutes before they got to the house. He dumped the materials in front as instructed. Great.

While traveling on I80 rock flew out of the truck hit and broke my windshield. I called to discuss the matter with him and he insisted it wasn't his problem, he didn't care that his truck and employees were not following regulations and urged me to take him to court. I was just trying to ask him to pay the $50 deductible for replacement to make it right, now we can handle it in small claims.

It is owned by a local woman entrepreneur. The garden center building is compact and filled with practical functional items and fun decorative items (perfect gift items). Some of the items are heirloom and organic flower & vegetable seeds, seed potatoes, plant food, gardening tools, houseplants, pots/planters, garden art, and wind chimes... just to name a few. Outside is the nursery with native flowers and plants, fruit trees, and vegetable plants. The outdoor area is compact. The plants are labeled to indicate if they are deer resistant which is important in these parts. Deer is abundant in these parts, and they have an appetite. The nursery inventory is thoughtfully laid out. Towards the back of the outside nursery is where the yoga studio is located. In addition to the yoga studio, there is a concrete patio with a view of the nursery below . That is where the outdoor yoga classes are held. They offer instruction in various types of yoga. The class schedule and pricing is posted on their website. Take a peek, pricing averages $15 a class and 10 class purchase is $120. The owner recently opened a cafe on the property. Nourish Cafe serves up cold pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, artisanal coffee, nourishing soups, and vibrant salads. Finding parking can be challenging. There is about 12 dedicated parking spaces in front on Green Valley Road. However, this place is popular. On the Sunday I dropped in, I parked across the street in front of another business which was closed on Sunday. I frogger-ed across busy Green Valley Road.

Such a lovely afternoon picnicking, enjoying a bottle of sparkling wine by Deaver, exploring…read moredaylillies and demonstration gardens. Myself, husband and 4 kids (4-11) found a perfect day trip from Sacramento to the Amador Flower Farm. A main attraction for our family was the picnic area beside the pond full of koi fish, turtles and frogs. A food dispenser ($0.25) was endlessly fun to feed and attract the pond inhabitants and observe their patterns beneath mature oaks brimming with sparrows, red winged blackbirds and other songbirds. We brought our own picnic food, bought a bottle of sparkling wine at the gift shop/tasting room, and sat for more than an hour spending time together. Later, we wandered through the gardens and enjoyed the beautiful blooms, many of which can be purchased to bring home. The paths were easy to navigate for our mother with a bad knee. It's straightforward to get here, and well worth the hour from the Sacramento area. What an incredible afternoon!
