Wonderful store with over 17,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor space. Locally owned by the same family for over 14 years. Ever-changing inventory, local artist's creations, consignment, and something for everyone! Home decor, furniture, plants, a clothing boutique, garden decor- the list goes on and on! My favorite place to shop!

My antiquing adventures continue. This time I was in the town of Shingle Springs, CA. Under the Arbor shop was a bit hidden from the road. As I was walking to the front doors, the decorative iron arbors framing the walkway immediately caught my attention. They provide a focal point for the front patio section where they sell garden and outdoor home decor, arbors, patio furniture, and plants. My tip for first timers is to pace yourself. There is tons more inside to see and buy. From the exterior, the shop looks deceivingly smaller than what it actually is. As I walked into the shop interior, my mood immediately lightened and my interest level shot up to 100%. Besides being immediately greeted, the visuals throughout were gorgeous. The design displays were modern and stylish. Visually stunning. Very IG worthy. Speaking about IG, the shop's handle is underthearbor. For folks that may not know what I mean by IG worthy, it translates to front cover/main article pictorial spread of a magazine. Interspersed with the consigned furniture for sale was new home decor items. They were all beautifully displayed in a thoughtful organized way. For instance, they had items displayed as rooms in a house. Kitchen, library, living room, dining room, bedroom, etc. Each room had its own style like modern industrial, bohemian chic, Victorian, and farmhouse. Prices for the antiques are on par and competitive. There are plenty of new home decor and accent items as well. The new items are priced at points similar to the big box retailers. They make great gift items. Items include kitchen towels, candles, soaps, vases, and pillows. Plus they have a women's boutique selling new clothes, purses, jewelry, and accessories. Very on trend boho styles. The styles and fit are geared for the youngins'. Not to say middle aged gals like myself can not wear them.

    Great find!

But there is no way I could resist stopping in the Nursery to check out all the beautiful plants. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Pricing is not outrageous. This is one of the few independent owned local nurseries not yet gobbled up by a big franchise. On this past visit, I bought a bell pepper plant and a jalapeño pepper plant. The plants were about 3-4 inches tall and $3.99 each. They were healthy and gorgeous looking. Know it's up to me to keep these gems alive. Ohhh the pressure. They have a large assortment.... they have a bit of everything... succulents, roses, fruit trees, shade trees, houseplants, and seasonal vegetable plants. They also carry plant food, soil, garden decorations, pots, and gardening tools. The setup is rural and rustic but not amateurish. The parking lot is a gravel lot as is the nursery grounds. So leave your high heels at home. Another thing ... that unlike the big box shops, El Dorado Nursery does not have warranties or provide refunds for plants. Plus no dogs are allowed. They wreak havoc on the mental health of the resident chickens.

It is owned by a local woman entrepreneur. The garden center building is compact and filled with practical functional items and fun decorative items (perfect gift items). Some of the items are heirloom and organic flower & vegetable seeds, seed potatoes, plant food, gardening tools, houseplants, pots/planters, garden art, and wind chimes... just to name a few. Outside is the nursery with native flowers and plants, fruit trees, and vegetable plants. The outdoor area is compact. The plants are labeled to indicate if they are deer resistant which is important in these parts. Deer is abundant in these parts, and they have an appetite. The nursery inventory is thoughtfully laid out. Towards the back of the outside nursery is where the yoga studio is located. In addition to the yoga studio, there is a concrete patio with a view of the nursery below . That is where the outdoor yoga classes are held. They offer instruction in various types of yoga. The class schedule and pricing is posted on their website. Take a peek, pricing averages $15 a class and 10 class purchase is $120. The owner recently opened a cafe on the property. Nourish Cafe serves up cold pressed juices, fresh fruit smoothies, artisanal coffee, nourishing soups, and vibrant salads. Finding parking can be challenging. There is about 12 dedicated parking spaces in front on Green Valley Road. However, this place is popular. On the Sunday I dropped in, I parked across the street in front of another business which was closed on Sunday. I frogger-ed across busy Green Valley Road.

She did Not say your company can deliver More at one time IF he waits a couple days or that IF he needs more there are better cost effective options. We ordered 12 yards and are Very confident we did NOT get 12 yards. But no resolution or partial refund. 1st call after Delivery: Nancy answered. I explained how my husband saw your limited time savings of 5% ad and that you meet or beat most competitors pricing and he thought you guys would have his best interest at heart & that he would be getting fair prices and good information. Nancy said the website does Not say you meet or beat prices - it may say you meet but Not beat and was Very rude & snotty about that behaving as though I was lying. Then Nancy said it is Not her fault we didn't look around Before choosing you guys! Placing blame solely on us for Not choosing another cheaper company or Making Sure they Price Matched or Making Sure they Informed us of Cost Effective Load Sizes I, also, explained that as customers we are Not experts in this trade and we do not know about certain yards being different prices and that as a courtesy we should have been informed on what size load would be More Cost Effective - Nancy said whoever takes the order Does inform the customers of what is more cost effective. * The man, Tom, who I spoke to when I called again to check if owner was in said the Opposite, I'll go over that below. I called a 2nd time to get the Owner Information Tom Answered and was rude immediately and brought up our order and the "situation" despite me ONLY calling back to get OWNER INFORMATION. At one point Tom said "why do I need to tell the customer what's more cost effective?? That's not my job!" Tom Acknowledged the girl who placed the order did not discuss with my husband about any other cost effective options like how a full 16 yards (he interrupted with you mean 18 yards?) is not much more and how during the weekend it is "landscaping" prices according to Tom and that's why it was so high. And he reiterated how it is not their job to help us get a good deal! No one informed us of Other cost effective options regarding load size or timing of the delivery. And when I called this morning this was my MAIN issue but; None of your employees demonstrated empathy or even Understanding at Any moment. None of them took responsibility for anything or their parts. NANCY AND TOM blatantly mistreated me, told me I was Wrong even though I have Screenshots of your website and google ad. I never said anything to your employees other than trying to discuss the situation that happened. Nancy and Tom were Defensive and rude right from the start. Every customer should be valued and be treated properly. Employees should be respectful, considerate and informative so their customer can get the Best Experience with your company. It encourages repeat customers and many customers do have multiple projects. I hope you can resolve this issue in a fair manner and make up for my mistreatment by your employees. I would like to be Able to leave a Positive review for your company on Facebook, Yelp, Google and Angie's List. TIM the OWNER did NOT resolve the issue & was Not much better than his employees. He told me he couldn't do anything for the order we already made and all he could do was tell his employees to be nice when I called. Then when I mentioned reviewing them on all the places Above he said he can offer a discount on our Next order with them and will base the discount amount on the load size. He did not even Acknowledge the Possibility of being shorted!
