Great little gift shop, all dressed up on this December day for the holidays. All sorts of Christmas ornaments, some Christmas decor and gifts, and hand-made items, too. Will definitely be back after Christmas to see what they have when they are no longer stocked to the walls with Christmas cheer. Prices seemed to be fair, and the staff person working the floor had a nice smile for the customers. One little drawback, minor really, is there is not much room to travel through the store. My path was blocked a few times by other shoppers. Not unexpected, actually, just worth noting since it was a weekday. I'm sure weekends are quite a bit more busy. read more

Such a beautiful, fun, unique store in the heart of downtown Main Street Placerville. Something for everyone! Great place to find special gift for someone u love. Everyone who works there is so friendly, especially Deb the owner. We always feel so welcomed. They carry a variety of items anywhere from outdoor decor, to beautiful large pictures of horses that were so majestic. Water features, and fountains, and even a huge selection of kids toys, accessories, stuffed animals, and mermaid and dragon theme areas of items that were adorable! We love stopping by and seeing what's new! There's a ton of cute places to shop downtown but this is one of our favorites. And its not overpriced like some places. read more

This is my favorite shop in downtown Placerville. It's packed with unique garden and home items at reasonable prices. It's fun to browse the nature themed items. It's a great place to pick up gifts or treat yourself to a fun garden ornament. There are garden stakes, unique pottery pieces, stationery, art to hang and so much more. The owner is a really sweet lady, who brings her gentle dog in to the shop to greet the customers. Fabulous local business and a must stop when in town. read more

Tree House is a a gift shop on Historic Main Street in Placerville, CA. The items are beautiful and rustic chic. They range from home decor, kitchenware, personal care, garden art, and much more. The building interior has great bones with its tall vaulted ceiling and brick walls. The items are beautifully displayed. Prices range from under $10 to "are you serious". The day I dropped in, Harvey the dog was there. He was chillin to the music soundtrack playing in the shop and people watching. read more

Where do I start! I ordered a 500.00 beautiful metal bird . When I ordered it I told the woman I have high winds . She said it could take hurricane gust winds. Well I had a 40 mile a hour wind and the wings broke. Called the store and she said it's been over 30 days and there's nothing she could do. I won't go to that store again!!! read more

Worse shopping experience ever! The owner follows customers around like we are all thrives then she made mean comments about me to her employee. She said "internet is taking ALOT of business away'" from her since me and others were looking at our phones checking her cost of items vs amazon or buying direct from the artists/craftsmen all the while giving us the stare down. I found all of her merchandise marked up double or more! If she hadn't jacked the prices up so much and not treated us like shoplifters, she might have made some sales. The other customers left after only a few minutes. I could have bought $400 worth of merchandise and boxed it up and checked it on my plane for a small fee (I was visiting family), but with her rude attitude and jacked up prices, I would not give her my business. I went in this store with a few of my deaf friends, they were terrible to us. A small kid behind us picked a ornament and then dropped it. I went ahead and told them that I dropped it by accident. They made me pay for it. It's okay because I understand that they are a small business but I will never go back there again. I used to go there every years for their ornaments. Never again. They will not take care of you if you "knock" a ornament over. Do not go in this store. I deeply regret it. I will never shop at a store where I feel scare have anything fall over and break. I have been in this place several times over the course of a few years. Each time, the woman working behind the counter, whom I believe to be the owner, has been shockingly rude to me and any family members that happened to be with me. I honestly cannot believe that this store has been open as long as it has, since it it almost seems like those working at it are attempting to see how much sass customers will put up with before they walk out. We stopped in Placerville on our way up to Tahoe in early December and enjoyed browsing and strolling through all the shops along Main Street. Tree House was my favorite! So many lovely and unique holiday decorations. I fell in love with a darling Santa and forest critters statue, and asked if they had it in a smaller version. They checked their inventory, but only had the one large statue left and they even called another local store that carried similar items to see if they had it for me for me, sadly they did not. They also gave me the item manufacturer and ISBN# so I could search for it online. It was sold out at all websites that carried it and was not in any of of the shops we visited in the Tahoe area. So, I called Tree House, and they were more than happy to hold the statue for me and we picked it up on our way home at the end of the week!! I have lived in this town my whole life and I go into the tree house frequently throughout the year to purchase gifts for family out of town. It is incredible to me to see how rude the owner is every time she is there when I go in. Complete lack of customer service. Going to the Tree house was hands down one of the worst shopping experiences of my life. The owner Jennifer did nothing but hover around me constantly asking me if I wanted to put my stuff in a basket and telling me I was holding the ornament wrong. She was watching us like a hawk the whole time, and when we did ask her questions she was very condescending. I really love visiting this place when I'm in Placerville. I particularly like when they transition to the Christmas items. Most recently I visited in October, when they had a full inventory of their ornaments but still had some other items. Some glass blown Halloween ornaments caught my eye while I was there, but I didn't purchase them. After, I decided that I should purchase them, so I called and asked if they would take a phone order. Without any hassle she said yes, packed all of the ornaments (and a tree to hang them) and shipped to me. Everything arrived safe, sound and intact. read more

We were in there earlier today, and we had a similar experience as Myrtle. We were enjoying our time as tourists in downtown Placerville, and we spent a while looking around this shop. It has cute items, but we were definitely put off by one of the staff member's attitude toward us. She was rude and condescending. We were minding our own business, looking at the displays, when we were snapped at. I had my phone out and was told "no photographs!" I apologized and put the phone away, but she continued by saying, "I'm not your internet posting place!" It was unnecessary, since I'd already put the phone away and apologized. Furthermore, there were no signs anywhere near us (or anywhere at all, that we saw) asking customers not to take photos, and there were definitely no signs on the door. I really don't post often at all, but I felt compelled to write after the poor customer service that I received, and just the overall unwelcome feelings that I was given. We won't return to this shop in the future. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones who had this experience. We weren't even the only ones who had this same experience TODAY. read more
