Unacceptable service. I ordered some clothing for an event and paid for express shipping. I didn't know the store I was ordering from was going to use this company. If I had, I wouldn't have paid for the express shipping. I received a notice saying that my package would be delivered on Nov. 28th. It wasn't delivered. I assumed it would be delivered on the following day. It wasn't. I called Customer Service on the 30th, the lady told me that the package would be out for delivery and should be given to me by 8pm. I received another notice at 7:03pm stating that my package would not be delivered. I called Customer Service and was angry. When I asked to speak to a manager the man HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME! I then called Customer Service again, the next rep was very kind and apologized for the terrible service that I had been received. He put in a complaint for me saying that the carrier was not diligent in delivery my package (which the carrier stated was an address he couldn't deliver to ) and that I was mistreated by a Customer Service Representative. I still don't have my package and won't get it until Monday (which is useless now because my event is Sunday). If you can avoid dealing with this shipping company, please do so. DHL is ALRIGHT. The one thing I'd like to complain about is communication. You guys send text when your package is out for delivery, but then nothing else after. You don't get a text saying it's on its way or whatever. And then the only other text you do get is when they've tried to deliver it but no one was home. Well if I tell someone at my house to look out for you guys I can't even tell them how to long to look out for you because we don't have an ETA on the driver! Hi I have been a customer of DHL for 2 years and usually receive shipments from Nice France to our office in Geneva IL weekly. DHL frequently Holds our shipments up from 1 to 4 days because the Customs Duty is not paid by me before the boxes are to be put on their local delivery trucks to make the scheduled delivery to us in Geneva IL. So, each time (weekly) I go to the DHL My Payment platform, enter my 10 digit Waybill number to pay the Duty, and each time I get an "Invalid" Waybill number response from the DHL system. This prevents me from being able to pay the Waybill Duty, and that prevent DHL from fulfilling its scheduled ontime delivery to me. The DHL online MyPayment system is dysfunctional. I have call DHL people in their main office many times to get this fixed...everyone is Lame and no one cares enough or has any authority ti fix their system. This company needs to put in place a "Customer Satisfaction Inquiry System" so that after every Customer to DHL phone assist contact, that the Customer can give Satisfaction or Dissatisfaction responses to DHL management can try to understand why the average YELP rating of DHL is "1" the lowest of ratings. Aweful.. My Paypal account was hacked the criminal bought $4000 earrings from Spain. I contacted DHL. The employee put in their system that a faulatunt purchase had been made and to stop delivery and return package to business. This was on Friday, Dhl calls me Monday and tells me that the package was deliveried to the criminals address and that I needed to contact PayPal to get my money back. This is by far the WORST delivery service out there!! I had a terrible experience with this company recently. The incompetent employee delivered a package to the wrong address and as a result, created utter chaos for my wife and I. My neighbor accused her of stealing their package. We had to eventually call the police to calm the situation. My neighbor received their package a day late. DHL did absolutely nothing about their mistake. We spent time with the police, made our relationship with our neighbors worse than it's ever been, and created hours of stress for my wife and I. You can't even reach their corporate office. Next day when tracking this shipment I was very surprised finding that it listed as delivered and without signature, thou signature was required. I was told that DHL driver delivered my package to Amazon warehouse instead of my Chicago street address. Why he did that nobody knows. A package was being shipped to me from Singapore - it goes to China and then is flown to New York where is clears customs - hurray -now instead of sending the package on to me in Connecticut (2 hours drive by car or truck) it gets flown to Franklin Park, IL - and I am now being told is being flown back to New York . . . and who knows what the next step is. I went to DHL today, and went to the location on Seymour ave. which is near O'Hare airport. The receptionist was pretty rude and told me I was in the wrong department and was to go to DHL express to pick up my parcel. Ok its not everyday I come to this labyrinth of roads to this location to pick up a parcel... no reason to get your frustrations out on me. So I found the correct pickup location on waveland ave. There I nicely followed the instructions on the wall and rang the bell once and waited... and waited... some employees walked by... and waited. My package was supposed to arrive on Friday and they told me it wouldn't come on Friday because the package got to the location to late to be delivered that day. I was fine with that. They than told me they were doing weekend deliveries because of the holiday. So my package would come Saturday. Did it show up? No. So I called customer service AGAIN and they said it was supposed to come today. Flash forward to where it's now 7 PM the day before Xmas eve no sign of my package, no answers as to where it's at, no update if and when I will get it. I mean talk about the worst delivery service there is. USPS does a better job, so go figure... Drivers always wait until the very last hour to "attempt" delivery but they never actually attempt anything. I don't believe they even get out of the truck to make the attempt. More than once I've been home all day literally waiting for a package and all I get is a text stating that "driver attempted delivery but customer not home" which is complete bs. And it's a waste of time calling customer service because all they'll do is apologize and reschedule your delivery for another day as not even them have contact with the driver. Just like someone else in the reviews, I have a delivery stuck in Franklin, IL. I have been waiting for my delivery to arrive since 10/30 (today is 11/26). It has been stuck under a "clearance event". Which means nothing. The parcel was at least scanned on 11/6, 11/7, 11/8, 11/12, 11/14 and 11/15 but has not even been looked at since. The shipper can't tell me anything, DHL cant tell them anything. All I want to know is what item caused it to be held, so I don't order it again. It is beyond frustrating. read more

Pathetically unorganized, extremely poor customer service each and every time one has the misfortunate of using this carrier which, by the way, is never by choice but because our international customers make the mistake of doing so. There seems not to be one person on duty who can bring to closure the most basic customer service issue (ie, attempted delivery made but not completed and package is in limbo or, separately, an EU import arrives that is detained in Customs and USDA review for two weeks without any communication whatsoever emanating from the geniuses on payroll there) and this is unnerving as it is pathetic. Worst service ever. I left my job one day to wait for the DHL guy to come but he never did and around 7 pm I checked online and the package was 'delivery attempt'. I am sure that nobody rang my bell all day and no notice was left on the door that he came. So I had to be off another day at my work to go and pick up my package 50 mins away. I would not recommend DHL and for sure I will not choose it anymore. The only good thing was that the package came really fast, for almost two days from Eastern Europe. My USPS mail man is the best. Made an online purchase on October 7th 2021 with this online retailer called SHEIN which by the way no one should EVER trust them however, the online purchase was at $190. Tracked my shipment and as of 10/25 it stated that it was delivered but to the wrong address tried calling and was giving the run around speaking with foreigners and wasn't getting anywhere until I eventually was able to speak with a person I could understand and she told that the courier delivered my clothes to another residence. What was so disheartening and pathetic was that no investigation was initiated nor no one even tried to reach out to me to resolve this HUGE issue. Literally who ever received the shipment just stolen my merchandise without any consequences. Please people DHL is the worse parcel company in this country and this Chinese online retailer "SHEIN" is not to be trusted as well because I couldn't even get my money back. THEY ARE A SCAM! Ordered something from Germany to be shipped to Chicago, never got a tracking number, so when delivery was attempted on Friday nobody was home. I then called the office to see about options, and they said the package should get back to the depot by 7 or 8, and I could pick it up before 9 when they close; they also mentioned they would text me and update tracking when it arrived. I stayed up until 10 PM and never got a text, email, call or tracking update. It's now Monday, still no text and no tracking update, so I called them to check on status - apparently they didn't read the hold notice until today, so they pulled it off the truck (when I had resolved myself to just signing for it and having it sit on my porch); when I asked them to re-deliver, they said that I would have to call back at 2 PM to talk to the "afternoon manager" to get it on an evening delivery, and that there would be no guarantee they would get it to me this evening, since they could be "too busy". All-in-all, terrible service and response from them, and it doesn't help that I'm not the only one who has had terrible service from them. If you can avoid it, do NOT use them. read more

I've never had a problem with DHL! My packages are always delivered in a timely fashion. When checking tracking, if I notice that my package is sitting at their facility & has a delivery date for the next day, I'll request it to be delivered early & they always accommodate me! 1 star is WAY too generous for this piece of crap company. I have now taken TWO days off of work to be home so I could receive my package. The first time, I get a notification saying address was wrong. They won't attempt delivery until the following Monday. I didn't trust them so I drove an HOUR to go get it on Monday. What do you know, the address was listed perfectly on the package from the sender. What's the issue, DHL!? Second delivery was scheduled for today. I get a notification saying that recipient was not home. I've been home ALL DAY and there was no knock on my door. I called DHL minutes after the notification went out asking them to turn around and deliver since I've now taken two PTO days from work. I explain to them my situation which is that it's my wedding dress and I have an alteration appointment tomorrow (Saturday). My wedding is in two weeks and I found a tailor to do a rush job on my dress. DHL does not care and won't attempt delivery till Monday. Thank you very much, I will not have a dress that fits me for my wedding. UPS, FedEx, USPS all have NO problem delivering to me multiple times a month, none. They have proven again and again that they cannot perform their job of delivering and that they don't care at all for their customers (even in urgent situations). I couldn't even get on the phone with the manager. It doesn't appear that I am alone in this as your rating is an average of 1.5 stars here and 1.9 on google (don't worry I will be reviewing there as well), absolutely pathetic. Thank you for ruining my day (again) and my wedding because your employees could not do their only task and then your management would not ask him to turn around when he was down the street.. Horrible service! Tracking service says they delivered my package today but I do not have it. They don't even know where they delivered it.

I booked delivery through online "Express Worldwide 48", the estimated delivery time was 2 days. It somehow stayed in the transit airport for 3 days. Anyway, I missed the deadline for this parcel and so it is basically no use. After the complaint I made, on the 12th day I noticed the recorded changed to return to shipper. No contact by DHL, no explanation of this decision, no discussion of whatsoever. Terrible service ever. So I basically paid to send the parcel to myself in 12 days (still in transit). Also I was told by a CSR that apparently my parcel was "just normal shipping, not express shipping" so it took 3 days to pass through the custom clearance, and waiting for transit to its destination. There was no option for me to choose this so-called "express delivery" that was faster than 48hours delivery, also if is DHL not an express delivery service company, then why does it call itself "DHL express"? To misleading customers? The delivery estimate was misleading; confusing and conflicting information was given; some CSR were't helpful (one of them told me to "Google it"); no effective communication; and all this for almost double the price compared to NZpost for a same (if not better) delivery timeframe. I saw that it was with the courier at 10:32am so I didnt panic. I just waited. Three and four in the afternoon went by and I decided to see what was going on and called customer service. I was told that I would recieve the package before eight in the evening. so I waited And waited and 7:45 came and went and I called back and was told that the courier was delayed due to the weather but to expect my package tonight and if I couldn't wait any longer to leave a note. and then I asked if the courier would just go back to franklin park and leave my package to deliver the next day and he said that he sees that the driver is still enroute and that I can sign up for the message alerts and thats all he can suggest. it is after eight and I still dont have my package... its 8:30 and I still dont have my package! read more

I have an urgent DHL Shipment, DHL tracking said it was on the truck with the currier to be delivered on Monday Jan 4. I stayed home all day waiting for it and then in the evening the status changed saying they needed Address verification. So I called DHL, and the address on the label, for some reason said "East", instead of "West" on my street name, I gave them the correction, they said they corrected the label. Tuesday, Jan 5, DHL tracking said on truck for delivery. At the end of the day on Tues, still no package. Weds Jan 6th, someone called me from the DHL Distro center in Franklin Park, calling to verify the address, they said the driver was new in this area and could not find the address. I asked them for the address and they had the wrong address again, even though I had called in the correct address the day before. They said it would be on the truck for delivery on Weds Jan 6th, DHL tracking system shows the same, but it never got delivered. What's the problem??? read more

They came to my house didn't even knock or ring the door bell, like they expect me to wait outside all day for them like I do not have a job or work to do. This company definitely doesn't deserve 1 star. I had something Express shipped to me for an event on May 20th. Yesterday, May 16th it was supposed to be delivered. I constantly checked the site, looked out the window, nothing. I check the site and it says attempted delivery. I get a call saying that they attempted the delivery, and I need to be available on May 17th to get the package or it would be sent back. WAIT!!! Are you making this my fault, when I sat and waited on the date it was supposed to be delivered. I told the CS agent, I wouldn't be available and if they could leave the package (I am giving permission to do so - throw it over the gate, it isn't something that could be damaged). CS says sure, just leave a note with tracking information and instructions for delivery person. At this point, I feel at ease. So today, I go online to check...attempted delivery, no one home. I immediately call, tell them what happened...well ma'am did you get a note...what note. Hold on! They get back on the line, we can send the courier back out for another delivery today, but it isn't guaranteed he will come back out. WTF! So, I just say okay and hang up. I call back, and ask are they going to just leave my package? Because I still won't be home when or should I say IF they come back later today. OH NO MA"AM, it is against policy for us to leave a package the way you want them to. So, why did the person before say it was okay and if I am giving permission on how to deliver MY PACKAGE, why can't you just do it???? If something happens to it at that point, it is my responsibility. So, I am not given any alternatives, which I think a good CS agent should do...I instead ask are there any alternatives???? He states that I can pick it up at the nearest facility. So, I am like okay cool. I live in Chicago...why are you saying the nearest facility is in McCook, IL? I say, so you are telling me you have nothing closer to me? Let me check ma'am....oh we have one on blah blah blah. Why wouldn't you give me that location first?????? Then he says but it may take 24-48 hours for the package to arrive at that location. So, you may not be able to pick it up until Monday. Reminder - my event is on May 20th. I just say whatever and give him the needed information so that I can pick-up. He then says it should be ready to pickup tomorrow, May 18th. At this point...I don't care, I don't trust that it will be there, and I am so over it. I am just looking for a backup for my event, because DHL has really f*cked me!!!!! read more

Honestly have never seen a delivery compny as worse then DHL. I would rather use Fedex only problem being they dont international shipment to all regions. Thatvis why im stuck with DHL. They say they have options to hold packages and delay deliveries in their online portal. But they never follow what you put into the system. I had 2 packages coming from japan the same day but at different times. So i went into the online portal and selected an extra day delay for deliveries so i could recieve both at the same time. I did this while the package was still in transit. When it arrived it immediately went out for deivery. I called the customer support line and they assured me that the package would be called back and delivered with the second one the next day. Only for me to get a kbock on the door two hours later with a single package. I was beyond pissed especially when another 2 hours later my second package was just left putside my door.
