Highly recommend. Scheduled delivery in less than 24 hours turnaround. Fantastic communication. Professional, high quality and friendly service. Overall excellent experience - thanks! read more

Hello, I'm writing to share feedback regarding our recent service, which was unfortunately a very disappointing experience. We were initially told to expect a one-hour delivery window between 3-4pm, and planned our day accordingly. Shortly before 3pm, we were informed the timing would shift to a 4pm pickup and closer to a 5pm delivery. In reality, the delivery did not occur until nearly 6pm. This caused significant disruption. Our building has a strict 5pm cutoff for deliveries, and we had to scramble to accommodate the delay. I had arranged coverage at work based on the original window and ended up losing additional time and income. The sellers also had to adjust their plans and wait around for most of the day. What was especially frustrating was being told--without acknowledgment of the inconvenience--that the only remedy offered was a $10 discount. We later learned that our job had been added at the last minute, and we were not actually scheduled, which helps explain the delays but does not excuse the lack of communication. I do want to note that the delivery team themselves were excellent--this is not a reflection on them. Given the nature of our work, we frequently require reliable moving services, including for art and mid-century pieces, and had hoped to establish a dependable relationship. Unfortunately, this experience has made that difficult. At a minimum, we would appreciate a more meaningful acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused, along with consideration of a partial refund or credit toward a future service. Without that, we would not feel comfortable using or recommending your company moving forward. read more

They delivered white glove service for 3 chairs I had made in Sweden. Everything was inspected and wrapped. They inserted non-slip tabs on the legs and put everything in place. Very amenable. so I didn't know they were calling and they waited a half an our outside my house for half an hour.. Would definitely recommend for on-total house moving and delivery. read more

I have a massive sectional in my basement that needed to move up to the first floor via the tiniest stairwell known to mankind! I shopped around to a few local moving companies, but the 2 hour minimum and associated price wasn't ideal. schlep to the rescue!!! Morgan and Oscar weren't deterred and didn't give up; trying various maneuvers until they got my sectional to the main level. It's so nice having an option for those smaller moves, either in the house or around town! I will definitely be using Schlep again! read more

There's guys are the pinnacle of pro movers and assemblers. It took them two days to put together. My massive bookcase that came from Italy. They could've left a mess everywhere, but everything was clean and spotless between the times when they left and came back they brought a large team to work as quickly as possible, they documented any issues with the products. There were issues that arose later that were not their fault. There was a manufacturing issue and they were sent back out to try to fix it a few times and again the same level of service absolutely a five out of five. The only thing I'd ask is that they change that hold music because it's kind of an ear worm read more

Schlep - Custom walnut book cases with integrated lighting, cabinets and drawers - Couriers & Delivery Services Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I used Schlep for the first time today. A FANTASTIC experience! On time (a bit early) and great care was taken wrapping and moving my peice of furniture. Luv'd the technology (ie - maps so you know where they are) and text alerts. I am a fan. Josh and Leon were great! A+++. read more

So absolutely polite and professional. I will be using them again in 2 months. Honest pricing, careful to protect your items. I also felt truly comfortable with them in my home. I would totally recommend. In 15 years I have used multiple moving companies and they knocked the others out of the park. read more

This was my first time using Schlep and they did a fantastic job! Ricky and DJ picked up and delivered 2 larger dressers and 2 nightstands up many flights of stairs to my condo. They were so friendly and I noticed how much care they took in moving the pieces and setting them into place where I wanted them. They even helped put some risers under the bed when we noticed the height of the new nightstands were a bit higher than expected, they did not have to do that but I really appreciated it! All the furniture was expertly wrapped and padded to ensure no damage; I was concerned about this bc the new pieces have been painted but there were no nicks/scratches at all! DJ and Ricky were also punctual and efficient, taking a perfectly reasonable amount of time throughout the entire process. I also enjoyed the entire process of booking the delivery on the Schlep site - very easy to book and I also liked that I didn't have to be a middle man between them and the furniture store, they literally took care of everything! Also appreciated the text updates on the day of very much, they were on time as planned and I didn't have to spend my day waiting around. I would definitely recommend Schlep and will use them for sure in the future! 10/10 read more

I have used Schlep on several occasions at the recommendation of Saturday Audio Exchange. Every now and then I get the audiophile "itch" to swap old my current for new gear. Both times Schlep teams moved rather heavy speakers. The current sent that I as having moved to my condo weighed over 200 lbs each. Happy to say both moves went off (mostly) without a hitch. Neither time did we have the original packaging so extra care was required. I will say this last time, one of the speakers got a very slight scrape towards the bottom wheel base. The Schlep driver, made a point to notify me right away. It was very minor and I could tell they were concerned. It was a very big ask to have them move such heavy speakers on a 90some degree day in June and without the original packaging. I appreciated the concern they showed and that they were able to manage this move on a difficult day. I would not hesitate to have them handle a next similar move. And their price was great! It was less than half of what another moving company wanted. read more

I just had another great Schlep delivery - best service in the city for moving furniture! Schlep's interface is extremely easy to use for scheduling. They text you updates and you can see where the team is when they are en route, which I love so I know when I need to put my dogs in the bedroom. The delivery teams are always quick, efficient and genuinely kind humans. It doesn't feel awkward when they are moving something or unwrapping it because they make the environment really comfortable. We just had a delivery from Steve and Leon and I would recommend them to anyone. Steve and Leon, if you see this - you guys are awesome! read more

The delivery was timely and the delivery guys were very polite; however, they ended up scratching my brand new floors pretty badly. When I sent a complaint to Schlep, they never responded for a month. When they finally did, they told me that my complaint was closed. I forwarded them pictures and they were kind enough to reopen my case. After a ton of back and forth, and Schlep asking to see multiple pictures from multiple angles, they told me that there was nothing they could do for me and that I couldn't show that the scratches were caused by Schlep. Now my brand new floors are scratched and Schlep charged me $110 for a delivery of a buffet less than 4 miles away. NOT worth it! I'm out $110 plus replacing floor boards since the scratch is so deep. And awful customer service. They kept asking for pictures from further away because they needed to see the context of where the scratch was. Then, once I sent them those photos, they said, "we can barely see the scratch" insinuating it isn't that bad. The scratch is about 5 inches wide and very deep. Really disappointed with their customer service. Don't plan on using them again! UPDATE: Schlep's response (below) again fails to acknowledge what happened. I had absolutely no problem with the delivery guys. They were extremely polite and courteous and we even had great conversation in the 5 minutes they were at my place. My issue is with the lack of professionalism and blame game by the operations/customer service team. I'm not sure what other facts Schlep operations needed. Simply put, before the Schlep delivery arrived, I didn't have a scratch on my floors. That evening, I noticed a scratch. And it was in the exact spot where the team slid over the buffet. Not sure what else these guys needed. Schlep said it didn't match their photo, but yeah, their photo was taken BEFORE the buffet was slid over. I appreciate Schlep's gesture for the discount (and I won't be using it) but more than anything, I just wanted my floors fixed. Never had this much of an issue with a delivery group over a scratch. Any other company would've been a 100x more courteous in dealing with a customer issue. Their customer service is abysmal. read more

The Miraculous Move I said to my Mom, "Today I witnessed a miracle, and it was this move." My Mom is downsizing to a lovely apartment and we had a "few" extra boxes of things headed to a storage unit. I hadn't officially counted the boxes but had photos, and Schlep did an estimate based on those. I had updated the estimate online with a few more boxes, but as we started pulling things out of closets, I realized that it was a bigger job than I once thought... When DJ and Troy pulled up in a VAN, I thought, "Oh Sh*t." After talking with Schlep on the phone and deciding we may have to make another trip on a different day, DJ and Troy started loading the van. In the meantime, a snowstorm started rolling in... I really wanted these boxes moved before the snow! DJ and Troy are an excellent team. They had that apartment of boxes loaded in the van in no time and as they walked out with the last load, I thought, "How is this even possible?!" With an efficient drop-off at the storage facility, they were on their way. I was amazed. And grateful. And appreciative. We got about a foot of snow that night. read more

Schelp should change their name to Angels From Heaven! I found a beautiful, vintage hutch from a furniture store. The only problem is that it was huge, heavy, and delicate. Because moving it by myself wasn't an option I used Schlep. Without the help of Sam and Tywone I would've damaged the piece or ended up killing myself trying to get it up to my third floor apartment. They made sure the hutch was well wrapped and they didn't get a single scratch on it. They were very considerate, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was perfect before I left. I'll be using Schlep again and requesting both Sam and Tywone. Although part of me is sure they'd rather not have to see that hutch ever again. read more

We used Schlep to have a piece of furniture delivered and put together, and they were awesome. We had to change the delivery date and they were super easy to work with. The day of delivery they were right on time. Sam and Morgan were efficient and friendly (they even offered to take their shoes off when I mentioned the carpet installers had just left 10 minutes earlier)! Would definitely use again and recommend! read more

Was referred to Schlep after purchasing two pieces of furniture from District. The entire process was seamless - from scheduling to the move itself. The Schleppers were very courteous, friendly and did a great job. They wrapped the furniture for protection and handled it with such care as if it were their own, not rushing simply to finish the job but making sure it was done correctly. They even came in and surveyed the route first to establish a plan before starting the job. The only confusing part was I downloaded the app first, but you can't create an account (that I am aware of) on the app, you have to start on the website, register, and then use the app later - word of advice for first time Schleppers. Highly recommend Schlep and will use them again! read more

Recently had to manage a small move, and was recommended Schlep by a friend. I mean, if the name alone doesn't scream "USE ME", I don't know what will... but it's the perfect name for this service. A friend was moving out of town and offered a nice sofa, which I was happy to accept. It's easy to rent a truck, but I ain't 20 anymore and pizza doesn't do it to bribe frens over to help move furniture. I looked into task rabbit and the like, but you have to try to coordinate hiring several people (separately) and it quickly becomes a logistical nightmare and quite expensive. Once I looked into Schlep, it was all just there... the website walked me through the item(s) involved, the "From" and "To" addresses, and calculated time / distance / resources needed. The estimate was super reasonable and it was confirmed in minutes. I did need to adjust the time a couple days ahead of time, and that was handled promptly via an email. Steven and Ricky made quick work of shrink wrapping the item and pick-up was quick. Handled communications via text and delivery was equally speedy, including helping me get the items in the right spot in my apartment. All told, great service and fair prices! read more

We have a baby showing up any day to claim what's currently our upstairs guest room. I needed to move everything out of the guest room to make room for the crib and other stuff that's on the way. It wasn't quite enough stuff to hire movers, but more than we (and by we I mean my husband) could handle on our own. Fortunately I had heard about schlep it for just this type of task. Booking the schleppers was easy peasy. I reserved online, included what I needed moved and where and heard back with a quote within a few hours. For moving 5ish pieces of furniture (some of it to my basement and other pieces to my nannys house in Skokie) it came to $170 total for 2 schleppers. Done and done. They even threw in a coffee of my choice (latte for those curious). A few days before the move I received an email letting me know my schleppers (Fernando and Eric) would be there on Friday morning at 830am as requested. The email even included their pics, which is nice to know who's coming to your house. On Friday morning they texted me they were running 10 min late, but were there by 840am (with a latte in hand). They were vey friendly and got right to work- loading up their 2 pick up trucks. By 930am they were on their way to drop everything off in Skokie and my nanny said the drop off went well as well. Payment was even easy since they just emailed me an invoice a few hours after they left. I'll definitely use them for similar types of moves in the future - most likely next summer when I redo my basement. read more

Big fan of Schlep! I used them to deliver custom cut reclaimed wood for a DIY project. The shop didn't offer delivery services, so initially I thought I was going to be stuck using the much dreaded U-Haul. Schlep turned out to be a big saver, headache wise and financially. It's easy to use and easy on the pockets! I've actually always been pretty limited to the items that I've purchased - the store would have to offer delivery service or I'd have to buy it online. So when you like eclectic furniture like me and everything has to be one-of-a-kind it's actually impossible to shop because you can't get reclaimed furniture (i.e. Craigslist) or local shops to deliver to you. So for me this is a whole new window of opportunity to shop and actually not break the bank :) Definitely plan on using Schlep time and time again in the future. read more

Schlep - Schlepping a large box. - Couriers & Delivery Services Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Used these guys last week to pick up items from a furniture store. I've never used a trucking company for anything but household moving so I was not sure how a small move would go. I am happy to say that the process was simple. Used the app to get the quote. I was also able to speak with a representative live ( no chatting). My goods arrived on time , undamaged and the price was fair and not super expensive. Darryl the mover was fantastic, polite and courteous. I'd definitely use Schlep again for local jobs. read more

This is my second time using Schlep and they never cease to amaze me. I was struggling to have Crate & Barrel deliver an oversized cabinet and the team came to my rescue! They not only are incredibly friendly and professional, but knowledgeable and extremely careful! Definite shoutouts to Schleppers DJ, Eddie, Jacob and Mike! They're an awesome team!! I also want to mention how Ops and Customer Care were super helpful and punctual as we ironed out all the details, scheduling and every last question or concern I had. The team collaboration is impeccable and I would hire Schlep over and over again!! It's worth every penny. read more

Use Dolly instead of Schlep, at least in Chicago! They quoted me one price over the phone, which was $85 and then said when they came and delivered the product into my home that it was going to be $109 for two boxes. This is complete dishonest and its no wonder this company had to take debt financing and is struggling to do well. If you cheat your customers, there are other options and you will not be able to build repeat business. BE HONEST AND TRANSPARENT! read more

Prior to starting a basement renovation project we needed to have a heavy B-10 organ moved up a flight of winding stairs and out of the house to a waiting cargo van. I was perplexed as to who to call for a job that would take both significant strength and delicate handling. One of my sons recommended Schlep. Unlike some other same day moving companies who rely on a network of independent labor with trucks, Schlep has their own dedicated team of professionals who spend significant time analyzing the move before beginning to insure there is no damage to handlers or to the materials being moved. The team that showed up on the appointed day (to the minute on time) were four men, Ricky, Steve, Ameer and Gabe. The four worked like a highly trained team. Each had a role and they had each others back all the way from preparing the organ to be moved to the actual move itself. All necessary for what could only be described as back breaking work moving a 450 pound wooden instrument up a flight of narrow stairs. Suffice it to say the move was a success and the organ now has a new home in a noted musician's studio out west. I would not hesitate to call Schlep again for any specialized move or simply a move that requires pros you can trust to do the job. Bravo! PS.... Ameer is an Army reservist who is, in my opinion, emblematic of the best and brightest young men currently securing our country and the future of our nation. read more

I'm SO glad I found this company! Professional, reliable, careful, and communicative---perfect for these uncertain times. They moved a large antique dining table and six chairs for us--about 50 miles--not a scratch or a bump. I highly recommend Schlep and would be pleased to hire them again. read more

Seriously so glad I used this company for a last minute intercity move. When I say last minute I requested at 1:30 and they were there at 3pm and were able to do payment info and paperwork and quote and coordinating during that small window!! They showed up on time, were super careful with everything and went above and beyond to get the job done. Next time you have to do a small or medium sized move use these guys!! read more

Troy and DJ did a fantastic job moving around some heavy dressers and an armoire that we just wouldn't have been able to get up and down the stairs ourselves. They were quick but thorough and made sure the clunky piece was well wrapped in furniture pads to protect it and the walls. That was much appreciated as was their attention to detail in making sure everything was placed exactly where we wanted it. Would definitely use Schlep and DJ and Troy as a team again. read more

DJ (Darryl) and Troy were incredible! They took half the amount of time I expected, and made quick, easy work of a sleeper sofa that had been a real headache in prior moves (last time it took 3 guys 20 minutes, more than one attempt, and they took out part of the wall). DJ and Troy did it in one shot and made it look easy, I couldn't believe it. They were also so thoughtful - moved and re-moved art, brought in our packages - it was a perfect experience. read more

I first want to say, that the reason I chose Schlep to handle the move of a few items, was due to the interview of the owner on the news when he notified Amazon about a driver dumping undelivered items into a dumpster. This to me showed that this company has honest people and looks out for the well-being of others and that is exactly what I seek in a business. I had items picked up from a downtown location and moved to my condo building over the weekend. The pickup and delivery went extremely smooth and they were prompt. Sam and Janna were very professional and placed everything in our lobby with no hesitation. The items were securely packed so no damages and I cannot boast about how EXTREMELY SATISFIED I was by this company and their employees. There was no minimum hours required for the move, and they were able to do last minute requests. I will DEFINITELY hire them for any future needs and will recommend them to ALL my friends and family. Thank You So Much!! read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!! I had a question about my delivery prior to ordering online and was able to speak with someone in customer service immediately, no waiting. Worst company ever. I have moved many times over 30 years. They called me today on a holiday weekend to cancel 15 minutes before arrival. They totally suck. These guys are amazing. Darryl and Daniel were on time, friendly, skilled, and STRONG! My boyfriend and I had lined up a few pieces of used furniture to buy yesterday and planned to pick everything up over the course of the day in a U-Haul and move it in ourselves. We went to pick up an industrial-style table and realized that this thing was a *behemoth* - way way bigger than we anticipated! We (ie - he and the girl's boyfriend) got it out of the original apartment after an hour of hard work, but we got home and knew we weren't going to get it upstairs (along with a big dresser) without more help. Our neighbor recommended Schlep and I could not be more grateful! I spoke with Omar initially and he was incredibly helpful - I called around 3 PM and asked if there was any way to get same-day help because we had to return the UHaul and were a little desperate, and he was so friendly, got all the details of the items, and had Darryl and Daniel to us before 6 PM. I was a little shocked and so thankful. Their communication and customer service is top notch. Confirmation emails for everything, and you can tell they are honest, good people. Definitely plan to come back to this service in the future. Thank you, guys!! read more

Chris and Darryl - stellar guys. Friendly, capable, thorough, timely, and just all-around excellent. We ordered our Schlep for a couch, armchair and ottoman from West Elm. Their communication was great, they were able to negotiate their way through a doorway that didn't want to admit the armchair, they assembled all three pieces efficiently and *well*, took care of debris removal, and were really just a pleasure to hang out with in the process. :) We've already booked the next Schlep for another delivery. Seriously, I'm delighted. Thank you, you wonderful people you. :) read more

Just had my first experience using Schlep today. I booked them after reading all the great reviews on yelp, and after not loving the experience with another provider in the category. I will definitely be using Schlep again. Sam and Stacey were our Schleppers. Loved loved how well they communicated their arrival, and how easily they navigated the pick-up logistics. BEYOND how awesome Sam and Stacey were, I absolutely loved how professional the pick-up was - Amazing (huge) moving vehicle that was branded and not random ( I tried another service and they sent me an image of a super random windowless van that would be moving the items -- no shade at all, but not what I was looking for, especially given the profile of who the delivery was going to. They had all the proper moving materials. The team also made sure our delivery (cushioned chairs) was wrapped and loaded properly. I investigated other options for on-demand services, and Schlep by far exceeded my expectations on all fronts. I am recommending them as a service of choice to my colleagues, and to my personal network. I'm sold. Thank you Schlep! #Customer4Life :) read more

We recently purchased a large credenza from Mint Home and were referred to Schlep to have it moved. Morgan and Mike did an amazing job, and at lightning speed! We live on the second floor of an apartment building with very tight stairwells, and these guys had this very large and heavy piece of furniture in our apartment in record time. Extremely friendly and approachable folks as well. I booked through the website at the discretion of Mint rather than calling over the phone. Setting everything up was very easy and they send you lots of helpful reminder emails as well as a link to know ahead of time who your Schleppers are. We paid the exact price that we were quoted; I think as long as you are honest with the appointment survey (indicating if an object is large or extra large, and checking off "heavy" and/or "tight threshold" and indicating the number of flights of stairs) you shouldn't have a problem. read more
