I concur with all these five star reviews. Sam and Dan were very professional and friendly. They carefully wrapped the couch I was having moved and were gentle with the property they were moving it out of and into. Sam even suggested a better place to store my old couch than I had thought of, and then they moved it there. So helpful! My only complaint would be that they actually used *too much* plastic wrap with the couch. Dudes, it's only a mile - save the earth. :) The process is easy. The service is professional and the guys care about their reputation. Would recommend to a friend. read more

I went to West Elm on Saturday and needed 2 couches delivered to 2 separate addresses AND THEN needed them to load stuff from first drop off place to take with to go to the following where the second couch was being delivered. James was very accommodating and helpful even though the details kept changing. Our delivery drivers, Darryl and Sam were THE BEST. They took utmost care of all of our belongings and packed them as if I were leaving on the country. They were so polite and kind and crazy STRONG! I would never think of using any other moving company and I would definitely recommend requesting to have Darryl and Sam as your drivers. Thank you for a wonderful experience and I will definitely be spreading the word. read more

DJ and Joshua were awesome!!! I tried to hire movers to move a extremely heavy piece of mirror and thick marble furniture and they wouldn't do it. Schlep came to my rescue. I will definitely use them again. And I will most certainly recommend them to all of my friends. read more

Schlep was amazing! They moved a large double-door refrigerator from the garage down an "L-shaped" flight of stairs to the basement without a glitch! They all worked together as a team and the lead person was even providing teachable direction to the rest of his team. They were on time, professional and courteous. The money was well spent! We initially called Dolly for the job (only because that was the first recommendation we got). Our experience between Dolly and Schlep was like night and day! Schlep was much more professional in how they handled the situation and did so with a great, can-do attitude. We would definitely call on Schlep again and recommend to anyone. Special thanks to Christian, Jay and Robert! read more

Wow, working with schlep was so easy and seamless. Thanks to Tom, Morgan and Ricardo I was able to get my refrigerator delivered same day.

I am extremely impressed with Schlep. I've used them once and already have my next Schlep scheduled. Omar was able to accommodate a same day pick up and delivery- within a span of 2 hours!! I got a text message when the delivery team was on their way and was able to track their progress via their app - just like you can track your Uber driver or Uber Eats. Delivery team was friendly and very efficient. I also felt that the fee was quite reasonable. Highly recommend! read more

This company is awesome! The customer service and ease-of-use throughout the entire process is stellar. We were looking for a moving service (recommended by a friend) to take big items and some last odds and ends from our apartment to our new condo and Schlep provided the best prices and availability. I loved the ease to add/edit through their app (even to the last day). On the day of the move, even the (very cold) day after Christmas, our Schleppers, (Shout out to Daryl, Sam, and Zach!) were on time and with my requested coffee in hand (On the app, it asked how I liked my coffee... I didn't know if it was a joke or not. It wasn't! Quite a nice 'perk' in my opinion.). They were friendly, respectful and fun to chat with as they worked and wielded shrinkwrap like I have never seen before. It was mesmerizing. Daryl, Sam, and Zach packed everything up carefully and thoroughly and placed it in the utility vans and we were off to the new place to drop it off It was all unpacked and assembled exactly where we requested and made no mess in the new place. Everything was moved without a scratch or any damage of any sort. They definitely took better care of our stuff than we did! I 100% will be referring Schlep for any moving needs, whether big or little jobs, as well as will be using them in the future! read more

Had a great experience with Schlep today getting my newly purchased credenza into my bedroom on the second floor of our home. The guys were very sweet and made sure to look around first and make a game plan on how exactly to bring in the piece. With stairs and a narrow hall way, it can be pretty tricky. They were very careful and made sure I was happy with placement. Also helped me move around my very heavy and large mirror. Over all great experience, very reasonable prices l, and great guys! Will definitely recommend and use again in the future read more

Holy Schlep! Perfect moving experience. Team was early, friendly, and professional. They picked up a piece from a nearby store, made sure it was safely wrapped up and carried it up three flights of stairs to my apartment. Easy to book, even had to reach out to the company to make some changes to my request and their customer service was so friendly. Would use them again and will use them again. read more

Schlep is the best - the upmost professionals from scheduling, to addressing questions through delivery. On two occasions they have delivered large, heavy furniture to a second floor with tight corners and did an outstanding job. Highly recommend this service. read more

Now this is the second time using Schlep in about 4 months. (I failed to write a review for the first one; so this is a review for both instances.) The first one was a move from a storage locker to my apartment. I had Darryl & Isaac as my Schleppers. They were fantastic, funny and definitely accommodating. The owner of the storage locker where the initial pick-up was, is not the easiest or most organized person to deal with, but they dealt with the situation with class, respect and answered every question she had for them. They delivered the couch, tables and other items efficiently, cleanly and amazingly fast. I loved these guys! The second time was actually today with Sam and Jay, where they helped to deliver a really nice table with the plan to be passed down to future generations - so obviously it was important to keep intact and delivered carefully. They didn't only pick-up the items and went above and beyond to protect the table and its chairs from my sister's garage, they understood that the table was a special item and will be an item passed down without having to mention it. Sam and Jay thanks so much for being awesome and taking care of our stuff. On a separate note, Sam recognized my sister as he was Schlepper for her previously! And she herself told me that he is great and awesome, before he arrived to my place. I don't think I will use anyone but Schlep in the future! You guys Rock! read more

Schelp is your next mover! USE THEM they are great! I was moving a one bedroom apartment in Chicago to California and they helped me get alllll my boxes and stuff to the freight terminal in one fell swoop. And lemme tell you, I have a LOT A LOT of STUFF. Morgan and Daniel were so friendly and able to accommodate my schedule and come earlier than scheduled. They handled all my belongings and furniture gently and quickly and I felt incredibly confident that all my things would be safe making the trek cross country to California. Their prices are honestly more than fair, they made the moving process so smooth and I would absolutely recommend them to any friend moving in Chicago. Thank you, amazing Schleppers!!! read more

I was very happy to use Schlep for the second time today. I purchased an extremely heavy MARBLE dining table and needed it to be moved from the seller's second floor apartment to my second floor apartment. There's no way I could have moved it on my own, or with the assistance of friends, without someone dying. This thing is a beast. Sam and Wesley to the rescue. These dudes were strong, kind, and funny. I'm so impressed with the care they took moving a piece of this weight. Every piece was wrapped and they managed the disassembly/assembly of the table top and table base with ease. I still can't believe only two guys were able to move this table. It's super easy to communicate with Schlep - their website is great and payment/estimate are very easy. Plus, they keep their employees! Sam asked me to look back and see who moved my furniture last time I used Schlep (last summer) and he said that both guys were still with the company. I would have expected a higher turnover, but to me that's a sign that Schlep takes care of their movers. Highly recommend!! If you bought something big/heavy and need it to be moved, don't look anywhere else. read more

I just purchased a couple of items from District and they talked very highly about the delivery services of Schlep. DJ and Tywon were great! They picked up my pieces and delivered them same day. Fast, professional and courteous! Would highly recommend! Thank you! read more

Received my item that could only be delivered to a warehouse. They were great at communicating. Their delivery rates were reasonable and the gentlemen were very nice. Thanks again! read more

These guys are NO JOKE. Chris and Gabe went way above and beyond to get my newly purchased vintage dresser up our tight and windy stairwell, going so far as to take apart (and then put back together) a linen closet on the landing to make this thing fit. I absolutely did not think they would get the piece upstairs, but they showed tremendous patience and determination to figure it out. And they were super nice guys besides! I would go back to them in a heartbeat. So impressed. Thank you Schlep! read more

I would definitely recommend Schlep! Alex and Mike were punctual, communicative, and professional. It was very easy to coordinate a delivery time, and our new sofa was very well protected. They helped us place our new piece and removed all the packaging material. The whole process went very smoothly. Their pricing is very competitive, and can be customized based on your shipping needs. I will definitely use them again in the future! read more

This company provided two great guys to pick up and move a couch to my new apartment. The two guys were incredibly friendly, respectful and MacGyver-like (large sofa:small door)! I fully recommend Schlep's service and will be doing so again this Wednesday! read more

Working with Schlep was a breeze. Website was easy to navigate and I had a quote within a few minutes. Booking the schlepers was just as easy. I had an email confirmation in my email inbox within 10 minutes. Within another hour I had an email confirming my crew with names & photos. The guys showed up on time, were courteous and fast! They brought the appropriate tools for assembly as well so there were no delays. When you are in a bind & need to move things quickly the situation can feel stressful but this was anything but stressful! Highly satisfied with the experience. They may not be the cheapest but paying a little more is worth a flawless execution. Would definitely use again! read more

I needed to have 2 pieces of new furniture delivered to my home and used Schlep. What a GREAT EXPERIENCE! I filled out the easy online form, received support quickly when needed, and was sent a timely confirmation. And my Schelpper, Steve, was just amazing. Not only did he take great care of my new furniture (wrapping it in blankets and transporting it securely in his truck to prevent it from sliding around), but he was friendly and a great guy to chat with as we moved in my pieces. And Schelp's policy of bringing you a cup of coffee, a simple and wonderful kindness. Schlep is now my go to service for moving about furniture. I've already recommended them to 2 furniture stores. read more

We hired Schelp to move a few pieces of big furniture because our floors are being redone. They did a great job and were very professional. Darryl and his co-worker (I think his name was Rob) managed to handle some tight spaces with the furniture. I also had them move our piano as an additional item, and it was reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again. read more

I had a dresser and large mirror moved with schlep back in April, and could not be happier with the experience. It was a little more expensive than the competition, but I have seen some incredibly sketchy experiences with Dolly, so I decided not to chance it. So happy I went with schlep and didn't try to cheap out. You get what you pay for! read more

We used their services to pick up a new credenza and deliver it to our house. Their website is easy to use and to my surprise we could book with a mere 24 hours notice! The responsiveness and communication is great - that evening I had a quote, confirmation, and a photo of my Schlepper. My husband met him at the store to help with the move and it was quick and simple! Our Schlepper Josue was very quick, efficient, and friendly! We will be using this again and referring friends. read more

What a great service! We bought a piece of furniture yesterday and Sam and Malik with Schlep delivered it today. They expertly wrapped the piece in moving blankets and wrapped it in plastic so it arrived in pristine condition. The Schlep folks let us know exactly when to expect the delivery and the guys were right on time. They were friendly and easygoing and took care of our delivery as if it was their own. We will absolutely use them again and recommend them to friends. read more

I needed to schedule a smaller furniture pick up/delivery for a couple of pieces and heard how reliable schlep was, so I was interested in booking. I called ahead of time to determine what their insurance policy was because I was moving mirrored dressers and was concerned about them cracking in transit. One of them did crack slightly in the corner upon delivery, but WOW, I am so impressed with how schlep handled the situation. They called multiple repair shops, found one that would cut beveled glass and had it delivered back to me. Yeah, the turn around on the repair took a little time, but they were so attentive with communication and obviously cared that I wanted the piece fixed instead of a refund for my schlep. Friendly delivery people (Morgan and Malik did a super careful job wrapping the piece), great claims department (Kyle and James were so helpful), will definitely use them again. read more

We needed a queen bed moved from an oak park townhouse to a lincoln park 3rd floor apartment. (I was having a problem filling request online from my phone and one of the employees actually called me back and arranged everything from one call.) They were so helpful and loved the communication the day of move as to who was coming and when they would be arriving...the 2 guys that showed up were professional and did the move up the 3 flights with ease and that wasn't an easy!.. I plan on using them for all my moving needs in the future.. 5 stars!!!! read more

Love the text-interface to let me know where the guys were, and to track their location. When they arrived, early on in the window provided, Darryl and Jay were great- incredibly friendly, helpful and went above and beyond the minimum to get a hard-to-navigate couch down a hard-to-navigate flight of stairs. They used creativity and resourcefulness to make it happen and were both professional and delightful. read more

The price was very fair considering the distance! Josue and Fernando were pleasant, on time and highly professional. They wrapped the furniture so securely- so much so that I almost wish I had bought higher end stuff to justify the care they took. They even brought me an iced coffee- an answer I provided to a random question on their questionnaire. What a nice touch! I had skipped my morning dose and would've had a major caffeine headache had it not been for this kind gesture. I would not hesitate to use them again. The guy we bought our furniture from must have been equally impressed because he asked for their business card. Maybe a Facebook presence would help spread the word? I didn't even know about this great service until a few weeks ago. I will make sure to tell others who are in need of a schlep. read more

I purchased a large dresser and 2 nightstands from the North Avenue Collective. They were delivered to my home in the burbs by Darryl and Malik from Schlep. They were very professional and super helpful. They even helped carry my old dresser to the curb. I would highly recommend Schlep. read more

Schlep gets shit done, and with an attitude that left me incredulous. "Is Schlep a cult of positivity? What do these people eat for breakfast?!" I have often wondered. I produce special events. As any parent who has thrown a birthday party can attest, expectations run high and the effort is not for the faint of heart. Scale that up to a rain or shine feast for 2500+ in a park. Lots of moving, adapting in the moment, busting your ass in all conditions. I hired Schlep for a large pickup of props and on site setup support for the Green City Market Chef BBQ. Here's what Schleppers Steve and Jay "delivered" : - Supplemental logistics when my team was overextended (see also - small business) - Timely arrival even during morning rush hour - Vintage props organized and secured, including a small boat - Setup of 2 large canvas bell tents - Mental salve for my perfectionist tendencies. Honestly, this was INVALUABLE. I fully expected to micromanage Steve and Jay during the tent setup, as we were styling and setting up a large area and most teams (including our in house staff) need repeat instruction. These Schleppers came prepared! They finished the job before I even remembered to check in on their work. It was such a relief to complete tent setup without any additional bossing in the midday heat. Thanks for having brains and an upbeat attitude Steve and Jay. The tents were the focal point of the VIP area, and Schlep helped build a hugely successful outcome. If you're throwing an event or a festival or anything that requires problem solving and specialized logistics, hire Schlep. They are reliable, service oriented, and can handle anything you throw at them with a genuinely positive attitude (as someone who has to fake smile a lot for clients, I'm impressed). They will absolutely make your life easier. In short -- hire Schlep. Join the cult. read more

Just used this service for the first time earlier today. Highly recommend Schlep to anyone who has just a few things that need to be moved. My Schlepers were super professional, and arrived earlier than I expected, which definitely wasn't a bad thing. Apparently the section on their online form about coffee is for real, they will bring you coffee the way you like it (if you bother to fill that in). I was definitely nervous about using this service at first because I needed both a futon and a bed moved, but the two Schlepers who worked with me today managed it way better than I would have. Definitely would use this service again if need be. read more

Morgan and Mike were lifesavers in getting 2 large, vintage dressers from the garage into our home. These dressers are solid wood and extremely heavy, but they moved them as if it weighed nothing! They also were very careful with the pieces, and there were no scratches, dents, or marks on dressers or my walls! Everything is in perfect condition and was completed in record time. Will definitely use again! read more

A few months back my husband and I moved a king size mattress by ourselves. We rented a truck, ordered the dolly, etc... and it was quite possibly one of the worst experiences of my life. So when a friend offered us a free refrigerator for our new home, I was hesitant to do another large item move by ourselves. Until I heard about Schlep. They were so easy to work with, and even responded to emails during off hours (which was great for me since I can't always coordinate during regular work hours). The guys who showed up were really friendly. They were running a few minutes behind and texted me with plenty of notice to let me know they were stuck in traffic. The move was seamless and quick -- I literally scheduled it over my lunch break and was back at the office within the hour. It took little to no time for them to load and unload. I have told many people about the service, and am calling them again for another job this week. Highly recommended, will not disappoint! read more

Darryl (DJ) and Joshua were total professionals in moving a massive, lovely sofa into my third floor walkup. They were friendly and amazing at their job, figuring out eventually that a hoist was needed instead of taking the stairs. The sofa was transported with care from pickup to my living room. I could not recommend them or Schlep more. read more

First time using Schlep and VERY happy with the excellent and fast service I received! Booking a time to have them pick up furniture and deliver to a refinishing shop was super easy and I was able to schedule something for the next day. They were also flexible when I called to move the pick up time ahead by one hour to make sure it was delivered before the loading dock closed. Sam and Isaac were super friendly and professional. All of my items were carefully wrapped and carried to the Mercedes van. I received a text from the refinisher that the items had arrived safely within an hour. Will definitely use Schlep again!! read more

Made my request at 7pm at night - my lovely couch was in my home the next day. Great service. Nice people. Love the technology as well.

Sam and Daniel, showed up right on time and made a quick and easy delivery. Thanks guys!

I hired Schlep to move a vanity and spoke to Omar on the phone who walked me through the process of getting it priced, scheduled etc. As it turned out, my contractors were able to move the vanity from point A to point B and Schlep didn't charge me. The customer service experience alone was worth writing a review for-- I've never had such an easy time booking/cancelling something and Omar was as kind as can be. I will definitely use Schlep in the future as the need arises! read more
