Our first experience with Daphne was back in 2022. I had just graduated from nursing school, and wanted a themed cake for my party. We yelped and researched and came across DH cake studio, it was a plus that she is also a food network cake off champ! We ordered a smaller cake, white cake, with mango mousse. Ever since then we've been hooked. Second time was in 2024 for our sons first birthday. A boombox themed cake, black cake with cookies and creme. Most recently for our son's 2nd birthday, Jollibee themed, back to white cake with mango mousse per our son's request. I cannot stress how easy communication and the design process is. What I love is that Daphne is very communicative, if not through email, through texts. Her cakes are ALWAYS a hit in any age group. Their execution is flawless, and the cakes always taste amazing. To our Asian tongue "not too sweet!" She's a cake off CHAMPION for a reason.

Best custom bakery in town if not the entire Bay Area! I live in Oakland and get my custom cakes here - that's how good it is. Gorgeous cakes and delicious too - we're talking gourmet quality. I ordered the white cake with strawberry filling for my son's first birthday party and ordered the same design as my first son's birthday cake because that's how much I loved it (animal safari). It's a stunning addition to your party - pictures don't do justice to the level of detail Daphne applies to her works of art / cakes. Guests are still talking about the design and the taste - light, delicious, and just the right amount of sweet. This isn't your typical sugar saturated cake that makes you nauseous afterwards. You will not regret your decision, this cake is worth every penny. Just contact her well in advance because she books up fast!!!

I was extremely disappointed with this cake. It was dry, tasted old, and the jam wasn't fresh at all. The decoration was sloppy--you could see folds and holes in the design, and it looked nothing like what I had asked for. What made it worse was being told last-minute (on the same day!) that there would be "slight changes," but the final result looked awful. I expected something beautiful for my 35th birthday cake, based on the promises made, but unfortunately, you did not deliver. I would never order a cake from your shop again, and highly recommend others to stay away. If you want something nice, move on to the next cake maker. After speaking to Daphne she did give me half my money back but I had no dessert for my special day and guests!

Daphne and team did such an amazing job on the custom cake I ordered for my friend's "dumpling themed" baby shower. I was desperately trying to find a bakery who could take a custom order on short notice when my other shop fell through, and Daphne responded so quickly! They were able to turn around the order with only 5 days of notice and totally saved me. The cake got SO many compliments on the day of and was legitimately delicious. Not too sweet, moist (but not wet), with a generous serving of cream and fruit inside. I had leftovers a few days later - still delicious! The team even provided instructions on how to properly cut and serve. Thanks DH!!! Would highly recommend.

My 5 year old daughter picked an inspiration photo of a cake she wanted that was honestly disappointing to me but I didn't want to say no to her so I told her I will send the photo to the cake maker and she will put her creative twist on it. I asked DH Cake to make an elevated version of the cake picture we sent her and she fully delivered. I was blown away when I went to pick it up and my daughter and husband could not stop gushing over the cake when I brought it home. Of course all the guests could not speak enough praise about the beauty and the taste of the delicious cake. DH Cake did an impressive job packaging the cake as well. I had to transport the cake first to my house, then to the party venue and it traveled really well. We will definitely order more cakes for future events. Thank you very much!

I started yelping cake places in San Jose and found DH Cake Studio. I was not disappointed! It's difficult to put into words how amazing the whole experience has been with DH Cake Studio. From the quick answer to my initial inquiry to the final delivery. I graduated last year and never had the chance to celebrate it yet. My family and I decided to celebrate it finally on March 5, 2022. One of the things I wanted/needed was a personalized, medical-themed cake for my dessert table. To be honest, I never ordered/bought cake before besides the pre-made cakes at Safeway, Walmart, or whatever. So, I was pretty new with the cake terms and whatnot. I shopped around local Southbay/Eastbay cake places on Yelp and Instagram. Finally, I came across DH Cake Studio. All her cake photos were so pretty, unique, cute, etc any definition you can think of !! She made and baked it all! I texted and emailed for a quote and described to her what I wanted and my vision of my cake. DH Cake Studio responded back in a very timely manner (a couple of hours later or even less) via text. Through text, DH Cake seemed attentive, patient, and detailed to what I was texting and wanting. Long story short, I decided to go with this place because it had a lot of reviews, pretty cake photos, really nice & unique cake designs, and SHE WENT ON FOOD NETWORK! In addition, my older sis and brother-in-law also really loved her work and had their vote on her too. I just had a feeling she wouldn't disappoint me and my cake will turn out exactly what I wanted. I did tell her that I trust her artistic and creative ability, so do whatever she needed to do to make my cake look nice/nicer- told her she can rearrange/add things if she needed as long as it doesn't change my medical theme & cost more money AS WELL change colors to anything on the cake as long as it fits the lavender, gold, and white color theme. The day before my party, she asked me what time I am planning to pick up my cake and sent me what my cake looked like. My first impression... OMFG it's so f'n PRETTY! My WHOLE FAMILY and I thought it was sooooo CUTEEEEE! It came out WAY NICER than we imagined and expected to be. We were speechless and were so happy with the cake. We will always come back and trust Daphne. Hands down she's the best ! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

This is the second time we have ordered a cake from Daphne. First cake for my daughters birthday and now for a wedding. The cake as usual has been the highlight, was delicious and everybody has been talking about it. Their communication is always clear and I love the way they provide instructions for every step to make sure the cake gets delivered perfectly. We always try to customize. My daughter wanted her LOL dolls on the cake and now it's our dogs we wanted. They find creative ways to manage our requests and I cannot recommend them enough.

I can't tell you how much I love the cake. The was owner was so professional helped me explain everything and gave me suggestions for the cake. She has a lot of variety and designs in cake. I loved her work check out her facebook with DH cake studio there is a lot of choices there as well I choose the below photo one for my husband she was very professional the way she approached me and the way she talked to me was just fabulous and cake turned out exactly as it was in the photo. I first had Daphne's cake at my cousin's daughter's 1st birthday party which was a delicious carnival-themed cake. I reached out to her for my daughter's unicorn-themed 1st Birthday cake and she was happy to help me with a cake, smash cake and cake pops. Daphne was timely in her email responses and easy to work with. I bought a Peppa Pig theme cake from Daphne. Originally I thought it's only good for decoration and the taste shouldn't be as good as it looks. But I'm wrong, it tasted amazing. All the guests enjoyed the cake. Even my mom who usually doesn't like cake took her second piece. I already made my mind to order another cake for my son's birthday next year. I am extremely pleased with this cake studio! I worked with Daphne to create three cakes and I couldn't be happier with how these cakes turned out. I've ordered many cakes in the past, and it's hard to find a place that can create masterpieces that look as good as they taste. Her cakes are very light and not too sweet which have been an issue in the past with other bakeries I've used. Her designs are a 10/10 in my opinion. I was able to send her a photo of what I envisioned, and she made it come to life. I like how she is able to recreate it and add a little more. Daphne is an incredible artist. After inquiring to pages of bakeries from the preferred vendor list I received from our venue, I receive little to no responses back and found websites to be down or poorly constructed and only a few having social media sites. As a SoCal bride planning a Bay Area wedding I really wanted to be provided with all the visuals: website, social media, yelp reviews, etc. I kept coming back to DH Cake. When I originally inquired I received a quick response back with quotes when I provided photos of my vision for wedding cakes. I shopped around to compare prices and while the price seemed steep from DH Cake it was cheaper than other cakes with way less detail than what I was asking for elsewhere. So, I took the plunge and booked a tasting with Daphne, and her studio and set-up of the tasting, and overall business practice is very professional. The cakes are delicious and the visual aesthetic is beautiful. We chose 3 different flavors of cakes for a 3 tiered "It's a Small World" Mary Blair inspired cake, as my husband and I are Disney fans and got engaged at Disneyland. It was a huge hit at our wedding and I love marveling at the photos of it now after the fact. Can't wait to eat the top layer featuring Nutella for our 1 year anniversary! Thank you, Daphne! The characters actually have their own personalities! we got a lot of compliments from the family, the animals on the cake and those cake pops not only looked real but tasted very good! If there is some more stars to give, I would give her those. The cake looked awesome and tasted delicious. The best cake I have ever taste in my US life. Everybody on the party asked for the cake. I ordered finding Nemo/Dory theme cake. After delivery when we bring the cake to my party venue Dory's fin broke and one pearl was missing. I informed Daphne and she came to my party venue to fix that. I am so impressed to her customer service ! She was super responsive to every question I asked till delivery. We love the cake so much! The cake looks so pretty and yummy. Daphne delivered excellent customer service! She listens to what you want, give suggestions, and very responsive to emails and phone calls. I ordered a two layers (6" double barrel top and 8" bottom) little mermaid cake to serve about 50 people. Initially I was thinking how I am able to cut the cake evenly to serve 50 people?! I was thinking to cut it like how we cut a pizza. I talked to Daphne about my concern and she is so helpful to explain to me on how to cut the cake, with the illustration diagram. I learned that when we cut the cake, we should cut it horizontally then vertically. That is a very useful tip. =) The cake is good enough to serve our guests, and many of them requested a second slice! Our party was a success. I am looking forward to work with Daphne for our next party! read more

Daphne made a Baby Shark themed cake for my son's 1st birthday and it was amazing. She was prompt in replying to my messages and clear with her instructions on the process of ordering and pick up. The strawberry filled cake was delicious and not too sweet. The design was exactly as I had requested. The details made the cake really stand out. My only regret is not ordering a bigger cake. I wanted a specific style and design for my Son's first year birthday and Daphne was very prompt in answering any questions with her immediate responses to my text messages or e mail. Very professional and great outcome with the design. We also had a small group and she suggested the right size for the cake and I was not sure how small the cake would be but it was just perfect for a guest size of 15-20 people we had. Being a fondant cake the inner cake was still moist and nice only wish we had other flavor choices for the inner cake. Overall a good experience. Thanks Daphne. read more

I ordered a cake through Daphne's website, just sent her couple of pictures for reference and included some additional details and the cake came out so perfect!! It was really fuss free. It not only looked great but it tasted so good as well. I had the chocolate cake with mixed berries cream. It was the perfect sweetness and moist and yummy. Daphne is awesome. She very responsive and easy to work with. My sons first birthday cake turned out to be perfection! Not only was it a great looking cake but also was very tasty! It was white cake with milk chocolate frosting. Everyone loved it. My only regret was that I took the cake out of the fridge minutes before the cutting (it was hot day and I was worried it'll melt). But it took a while to soften and tasted much better at room temperature. read more

The matcha was not as strong to balance the sweetness and decadency of the cream. We ended up letting it melt a bit so we can drink the matcha without having to eat chunks of the cream. If you like your matcha thick, then I recommend this drink! It was just not up my alley unfortunately.

It is still an option but I feel like it wouldn't be fair to say it's worth driving over 30+ minutes here. As a note too, this location can get extremely busy in terms of parking! The plaza is popping with heavy hitters. Service was fine as they do the self service kiosk with pick up being less than 5 minutes (no big lines), and the store itself is small with no seating outside but plenty of plaza seating outside.
