Came here on the recommendation of a friend, worth every second. The staff was really friendly and made awesome recommendations with menu items. My date and I each got two tacos and they were all incredible. It is connected to the bottom half of the Alley Cat, which is a cool place to check out. Order anything and its going to be great! That was our great takeaway. Only setback, which wasn't a setback at all really, was that you are going to pay around $12 for 4 tacos, however they are worth every cent. read more

Discovered this place as a freshman and loved it ever since! The food is extremely affordable, especially to college kids on a budget, and the quality of food is wonderful. Coming from Southern California, I'm picky about my Mexican food, but Dam Good Tacos tastes more authentic to me than many other "Mexican" restaurants in town. I wish this place was open later because I bet it would get a ton of business from people looking for a late night snack or second dinner. read more

So this place is nestled in the lower area of the Alley Cat, and when I decided to try this place, I was very satisfied! Everything is made fresh that day! The menu is very different yet very tasty! I am soooo glad I found this place! The tacos are amazing! It's hard to describe them, besides saying, TASTY YUM!!! So if you are looking for something different, and just want a couple tacos, this is your place! Try it once and you will keep coming back!!! I hear they have a food cart in old town as well, so if you don't want to stop by the shop, check out the food cart on Friday or Saturday night I think on the corner of College and Oak... My wife and I were so happy with the lunch we had here. Billed as "American tacos" we discovered they are more like international flavors. The Thai chicken taco was delicious as was the Sizzler. Hibiscus Tea was a great thirst quencher. The menu is original, and the choice of tacos impressive. Tacos can be ordered individually and at $3 each they are a great buy. Great ambiance for lunch or dinner. Don't even think of tacos from anywhere else unless you are 50 miles away or more! read more

This is an awesome place to get a quick meal that is not too expensive and also pretty darn tasty. They have a lot of non-meat options and healthier fare, too, which I appreciate. Their rice and beans are magical. I would say don't go if you're looking for super spicy food, though, because it tends to be well-seasoned (sometimes too salty, so be aware of that) but not spicy. It's right below a coffee shop called Alley Cat, and can get pretty busy sometimes. read more

I love Mexican food. I often joke that I've never had bad Mexican food. And Dam Tacos is certainly not *bad* Mexican, but it wasn't great either. Perhaps the high rating in Yelp had my own expectations too high. The service was super nice and they were very fast. Kudos to the employees. I had the Quesadilla Chips and tomatillo salsa to start. Great idea in theory, but the chips tasted burnt. I then had the bandito taco. OK, but not epic (very strong onion flavor). The carne asada taco was better and I would put at a 4 on its own. We were looking for a restaurant that accommodated vegans and came across Dam Good Tacos. Not sure how this would serve vegan dishes but thought we would give it a try. Outstanding! The menu was very diverse and the staff was extremely helpful In assisting my Sister in meeting her vegan choices and dietary needs. The place is a bit out of the way, but one in which makes it all the more appealing. We all say that Dam Good Tacos is just an awesome place to dine. As a vegetarian and a lover of Mexican (both authentic and fusion) food, this place is the bomb. Absolutely the best vegetarian tacos I've ever had anywhere. All three that I sampled were unique, fresh and very flavorful. My companion got one of there veggie bowls which I sampled and it was also out of this world. Everything was so good I almost didn't want to add any hot sauce (which I love spice and they had a variety of choices for as well). Besides the delicious cuisine, the staff was fast and incredibly friendly. They had lots of insight about the general area and other cool places too. The atmosphere is also very cool and casual with a very busy and hip coffee house right up stairs which they are willing to bring your food up to upon request. It's great to see two businesses support each other so well. The bathrooms are also very clean on both levels and the murals all over the ceiling upstairs are worth checking out. Honestly, I can't say a single negative thing about my experience here and I believe they well deserve the perfect rating I've given them. Do yourself a favor and try the Earth, Wind & Fire taco! read more

Wow, so glad I finally tried this place. My sons have been raving about it and now I see why. Earth, wind and fire tacos were amazing. Love the rice and beans that comes with. The power bowls look terrific. Yummy, nutritious food for quite inexpensive prices. Friendly folks in a really nice cozy space. Oh, and I really like the spicy chocolate almond milk drink! A bit difficult to find (unless you have a knowing CSU student along) as it is off the street in an alley. Parking could be tricky during the school year, just find something along one of the streets and enjoy the walk. But it is definitely worth finding. Really good tacos - a variety of combinations all very tasty. I thought the Carne Asada would be my favorite, but it came in second to the Bandito! The Hibiscus Refresher was good but it would have been excellent if they omitted the cinnamon. Cinnamon was the overwhelming flavor and diminished the refreshment of the hibiscus and citrus. read more
