I've been a drive thru breakfast burrito customer since 2011 and always have had a great experience. Perfect balance of flavors and ingredients, made fresh to order, hand held so easy to eat on the go and fantastic price. I've moved away and Consuelo's has spoiled me because No Other comes close! Best hot green chile in town - that is the truth. Service is great,ambiance is not close to when Consuelo had her restaurant on City Park Ave. but hey, it's an express now and perfectly fine. Consuelo ran a tight ship back in those days and I liked that about her,cleanliness was important to her as it should be when you are serving food. I worked for her back in 2003 her daughter Roberta was so kind and sweet,my mother passed away and she took the time to get me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Ok while I really love the cheap breakfast burritos here and that I've been here multipleeee times... I've had "things" in eggs twice now and it's become very discouraging. The first time I found a long string (from a bag maybe??). And I disregarded it and kept going back because the food is so cheap and delicious. And then the second time I found a hard piece of plastic in my eggs. It really hurt to bite down on that mysterious object. I went right after lunch rush to get their Tuesday Special which is supposed to be a Bean and Beef Burrito Deluxe. We ended up with a Chorizo, egg and potato burrito smothered and a bean and beef burrito smothered. I called and they got me another order ready, but now the chilie isn't mild like I usually order. Consuelo's is doing work! They had a line out the door and around the store, but they were pumping out delicious breakfast burritos quickly and efficiently. The workers were polite even with the constant flow of customers. The $6.50 breakfast combo is a great deal, even just the $3.50 burrito is a fantastic, filling meal. This was the worst, cheapest tasting, grossest Mexican food I have ever had. My 6 year old thought the tamales were too dry with no flavor and he said the rice didn't taste good and he refused to eat them. The taco shells were stale. The beef inside was dry with no flavor. The red "salsa" tasted like tomato sauce. The green salsa was way too hot. Threw them away immediately. The chicken taquitos were literally disgusting. The beans and rice had a strange taste to them. Maybe teflon peeled off of a pan taste. The only thing I liked was the mild green chili. We ate a little and threw everything away. Also the service was not great. Apparently they charge you for each terrible salsa which seems odd for a mexican food restaurant. She said they had little packets of tapatio? But I'd have to oay for those too. Consuelos seems to have a problem getting the breakfast burritos right and according to order. Disappointed twice. First time I went back a day later and told her. She made it right and requested that I turn around right away and bring it back. Second time I was too far away again and just wrote it off. Other food is good. Breakfast burritos are my go-to meal here at least a few times a week. Great deal and delicious. If you like spice go for the hot, their green chili is the best in town. You can also get them any time of day which is awesome and appreciated. Ironically, this is my first time yelp review ever. I just went to Consuelo's express and ordered fajitas. Right after I ordered a male behind the counter started blowing his nose in a farmer blow fashion and declaring "there it is right there" and started to look into the Kleenex at his snot. He then proceeded to turn the camera function on and inspect the inside of his nose to make sure no snot was pouring out. This went on for about five minutes. At no point did he wash his hands and other employees even told him it was "gross". I then sat there for 10 minutes making sure this individual didn't touch my food and a female in the kitchen asked me if I wanted silverware. She then proceeded to cough in her bare hands and grabbed my silverware. And only put one glove on to touch my food thereafter. After spending $20 on the meal I was so disgusted that I left without my food and did not ask for my money back because I didn't want the drama. What a disgusting group of humans in a disgusting restaurant. Never again will I visit this pile of shit dump. read more

Excellent all around. My first time here. I wanted 12 burritos to cater a tennis league match. They were done in 3-4 minutes!!! I couldn't believe it. I kept them warm in a cooler for 2 hours. Always great food! Employees though can be rude. I called today they hung up on me. I called back and employee was rude when I explained I was hung up on. Show up to get food & lobby was full. Everybody gets their food new customers come in, 3 different customers to be exact. They each place their order Get their food . Then mine come out and the lady explains to me you need to give me more time we're busy. I'm like what I didn't complain. She said you placed your order and then showed up I'm like ok and so? She said again you need to give me more time. I never once complained about waiting. But I will point out that I believe she processed the three guests who walked in and placed their orders as bd got their food before me as a form of punishment. read more

I just discovered Consuelos recently and was pleasantly surprised at the great food they serve! I just go through the drive through and get the daily special - as long as its smothered in green chili, I"m in! The first thing I ordered was a deluxe burrito with beef and bean - yum! I've since had chili rellanos, tamales and enchiladas. With the meal you get rice and beans, green chili over the top and at least two meals from every order. This place looks like kind of a dive and I'm not sure I'd ever go inside and eat there. I'm used to dive Mexican restaurants and they usually have the best food anywhere! read more

Ok. This place is normally ok. I order fairly often. Today i order and they get my order wrong. It happens... i call to let them know, and i get put on the phone with Leanne who is so busy with so many customers and its my fault they screwed my order up. I tip their drivers well, today i gave 30 for a 23 dollar order. Screw you Leanne, you have seen my last dollar. And maybe train your staff to input orders correctly. I will start off with the good, the workers I communicated with were very friendly and willing to help in whichever way possible. Also their breakfast burritos are a staple in northern Colorado, I would not say they are incredible but they are consistently good and a solid bang for your buck. Now for the not so good, this is minimal but the service was far from efficient, I went through the drive thru and it was painfully slow to the point where you could see the frustration of the people in the cars in front and behind me as well. After waiting in the line I just got more disappointed when I got my food and found out I way over paid for grocery store taquitos. You only got 3 for the same price you could buy an entire 50 pack at any grocery store. This is not my first time going here and being disappointed with the food, every time I order something other than a breakfast burrito I feel like I am getting ripped off with quantity and quality. read more
