While visiting Fort Collins, we had lunch at Los Tarascos. The waitstaff was wonderful. The food was delicious. Very flavorful and a good portion size. The chips and salsa was complimentary. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant by fajitas and salsa and this place did a good job with both. The corn tortillas were made in store. And, yum.

Whenever my mom would take me to good Mexican restaurants she would say you can always judge the place by the beans. In this review it is absolutely true Beans. 3.5 Salsa Bar 4 Carne Asada Burrito 2 Carnitas tacos 4 Chicken enchilada 2 All and all very disappointed. None of the food was a bit authentic. Now the Tarasco sauce that they put all their effort on. .5. Yes half a point! It was flavored sourcream! Was not a place I recommend. Service wasn't fast or very friendly. I could say our waitress was new but more timid than anything. We were outside on the patio on main street. Loud but a great patio they have.

Judy was extremely attentive. The margaritas slapped and the fajitas were perfection. Cheers Los Tarascos!!

Our fabulous server Clementine was there--we remembered her from last year. This is I think our third or fourth time here in as many years. An order of beignets started us off. These are square and no-kidding as big as my hand. Each. Four of them. Yeah, beignets are mostly air but one order was plenty for the two of us. I ordered the Eggs Pontchartrain---pan-fried trout filet, poached eggs, smothered in sauce bearnaise. I ordered the side of grits, plain, though I've also had their cheese grits. Both are stellar. Fabulous breakfast plate! Wife N went with the classic Benedict, ham, poached eggs, hollandaise, plain grits on the side. Delicious as always. Coffee is dark and fabulous. Side biscuit was super-fluffy and the housemade strawberry rhubarb jam hit the spot. Fabulous as always, see you again next year!

The wait time was pretty efficient. Food was pretty mid. The beignets weren't crisp and were pretty spongy inside. Too much powdered sugar. The strawberry cobbler tasted a lot like bisquick. I would go just for the coffee and vibe.

While interested in the tuna sandwich, I was really hungry, so I got an omelette instead. As it turns out, judging by the size of my wife's chicken salad sandwich and fries, the tuna likely would've been plenty for me, and I'll try it on a future visit. My omelette (with cheese, spinach, mushrooms, and onions) was fine, but nothing unusual from an omelette you'd get elsewhere. Home fries and ciabatta toast were both really good too. Coffee was delicious. Speaking of the chicken salad sandwich, my wife enjoyed it on her first visit too and was equally impressed this time. Definitely a big sandwich. I'm sure she'll get it again.

Thankfully, it was a beautiful February day, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine while we waited. The restaurant isn't very big, so it's a little bit noisy. But the wallpaper is really beautiful and it fits the theme very well. Some of the things highlighted in other reviews include homemade bread and homemade hot sauce. I'm not a hot sauce eater, so I can't weigh in on that. The fresh bread was pretty awesome. The fresh jam was Cherry vanilla, which neither of us liked very much. It tasted too much like pie filling, and the texture was off. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak immensely. My breakfast, which included a large pancake, an egg and a link of sausage was priced at $10 which was an amazing price. Both of us went home with leftovers. Our server was friendly and attentive. She may have had a bit too much energy if I'm being honest, but I'd rather that than someone who is lackluster and boring!

I end up leaving about half of my meal or have to force myself to finish. I've really tried to love it since Rainbow always has rave reviews, but it's just not for me. I've visited to try out their vegan/vegetarian options when I'm in the mood to eat something lighter or focus on plant-based meals since they're known for their accommodating menu. I've tried the falafel wrap, the scrambled tofu, and the vegan breakfast burrito. I've also tried their golden milk latte. I love turmeric/golden milk lattes so I was excited to try it here. It was okay, but a little too grainy for my taste. The service is fine, but nothing stands out about it. You arrive, place your order, and they'll deliver to your table or give you a buzzer so you can pick up. The restaurant itself is charming, bright, and clean. It has a really great vibe. The best part is the popular patio area especially on beautiful, sunny days. Rainbow is a good restaurant, just not for me.

There's plenty of seating available including outdoor seating which was nice. The service was good. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Rated this place a 3 because of the food. We ordered the Undecided Benedict which includes two poached eggs, one with smoked ham and classic hollandaise, and the other egg with house made sausage gravy; Both eggs served on a toasted English muffin with Rise potato (hash browns served like a muffin) The Rise potato was burnt all around the sides and the top so really only the middle part was edible. The Benedicts were mediocre so nothing really stood out about that dish. We also got the Rajas and Eggs which is Rajas (spicy blend of roasted poblanos, redskin potatoes, onions, seasoning), two scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, roasted red pepper coulis, corn tortillas. I had high hopes for the Rajas and Eggs with the mention of spices, veggies, seasonings. Overall, I wouldn't order this dish again. I ended up leaving half of my breakfast because it wasn't appetizing to me. Maybe it's lacking a different texture? Seems like it's all the same with the scrambled eggs, the rajas, and the red pepper coulis.
