Wow! This restaurant by far has the best tasting food I've had in a very long time! There was not one item of food that disappointed. The avocado steak toast was my favorite but the breakfast skilled and turkey pesto was so yummy too! Our waiter Mike was fantastic! His recommendation were so on point. We first dined here to celebrate our wedding dinner with the family where we were blown away with the food and experience. Really nice historic spot for lunch and a good cup of coffee. Took our son there when we visited him at CSU. Staff was friendly and they seared us quickly at a busy time. Waiter was a little behind and forgetful, leaving me to walk over to the coffee bar to grab sweetener for my coffee and track down someone to point out an issue w our food, but the manager came over and took great care of us, which really made our visit a good one. I recommend this spot when you want to relax, have some great food and connect with friends and family. read more

Disappointed. I drove from Loveland and was super excited to try both the cherry and passionfruit pies. Sadly the crust was so chewy and tough - almost inedible. The filling of the cherry pie was tasty but it took a heavy duty steak knife to slice into the piece. The passionfruit pie is good - could be more tart- but suffered from the same chewy crust. I've always had great experiences at Ginger and Baker and their food is always on point! On my last visit, I asked for outdoor seating and the hostess informed me that the outdoor seating facing Linden street was not available at that moment, but offered another outdoor area facing Willow. I've never been to that area before so I asked if I could check it out first and she said absolutely which I appreciated. The outdoor space was really nice with plenty of seating and was fully covered so it didn't get too hot. I normally get their chicken pot pie, but decided to try something different on my last visit and ordered the chicken fried chicken. It was so good! Definitely knocked the chicken pot pie out of the 1st place spot. The chicken fried chicken meal ($24) includes butterflied Colorado chicken breast, mashed potatoes, country gravy, fried brussels, house biscuit. We were celebrating my friend's birthday so we got a couple pie slices for dessert. I ordered the cherry pie a la mode (highly recommend) and my friend ordered the chocolate mousse. Both were super good, but I'm definitely partial to the cherry pie which was absolutely delicious served warm with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. read more

Coming from Texas, this restaurant screamed "Magnolia" to both my boyfriend and I, from the exterior, the little country shop inside, the type faces used, and the home cooking/ bakery vibes. We were worried it may just be trendy, but when something is good, it's good! My boyfriend had the chicken pot pie, and yes, I do think it's worth the hype! I had a picnic Cobb salad and asked for grilled rather than fried chicken. It came with a generous portion of tender chicken, fresh tomatoes, crunch bacon, crisp greens, and more. The avocado blend was incredible. This was one of the best salads I've ever had!! We also tried from the bakery ginger snap cookies and cinnamon rolls and found them also both incredibly yummy and worth it!! Our server was attentive and helpful. Came for baked goodies, and ended up splitting a meal of fall goodness: acorn squash, and a side of a hearty quinoa blend, and a cheesy potato appetizer. Their menu had a bit more variety than I anticipated, which was nice. The baristas at the cafe helped keep our lattes flavorful and topped off upon request. A bit more noisy to catch up over food with a friend, but it was still very fun. The servers were great. We had about a 20 min wait after walking in without a reservation, and it went quickly as we enjoyed the gift shop, market vibes with seasonal goodies; and the baking counter to tempt with the daily pastries, pies, meringue for days... and a notable mini fridge tucked to the side with to-go items (beef tallow, sandwiches, kombucha, etc.) The historic building had charm and modernity. Breakfast burrito: It is huge and came smothered with pick de gallo and gravy. Ingredients include scrambled eggs, potatoes, peppers, chedder, carnitas, onions, salsa roja. Mine o mine, it was SOOO good . 2. Farm stand skillet: This, again, came highly recommended. You can have the eggs cooked anyway you like (we chose over easy) and you can choose your toast (we had sourdough).The rest: potatoes, peppers, cheddar, bacon, onions, sausage, pico de gallo. First, love their soft butter and jam on the toasted sourdough. As for the actual skillet, yummy . Also, adjacent to the restaurant where you can order coffee, latte, tea, pies, cookies to go. Christian is always so kind and willing to talk to me about wine and what my preferences are. Again suggested a wonderful bottle of sav blanc tonight. I was in FoCo again this weekend. Before leaving this morning to head back home, I stopped by Ginger and Baker to have breakfast. The last time I ate here was dinner time. It was around 11:30 am and as one can imagine, they were busy. I like how they gave two bar areas for single or couples seating. I chose to sit at their main bar area. The young man who waited on me was friendly and provided good service. Today I chose the pancakes with bacon. I doubled down on bacon and had a total of five pieces. Bacon was made to perfection. Not overdone and not too soft. They offer thick cut bacon which is my preference. They offer three fluffy pancakes that are also made to perfection. They serve it with authentic maple syrup and not the cheap candied up version. I recommend ordering an extra maple syrup. The pancakes absorb one serving of it. Overall, meal was fantastic and filling. I really didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. So glad I stopped here for breakfast. I almost decided to have breakfast at my hotel. This will become a regular favorite spot of mine. Love this place! Check them out for breakfast sometime! read more

We thought the food was delicious and the front store was very charming. The price was a little high compared with similar plate item in this area. We went during happy hour and still paid $12 per drink and $6 per beer. I also noticed on the receipt that they charge a 4% kitchen fee. I felt the service was slow. Our waitress was very sweet and personable. Well educated on the menu items but took forever getting back to our table when we asked for a minute to decide. Same thing happened when we were finished eating. We waited for a good half hour and finally went inside to ask the pie clerk if she could look up our ticket so we could check out and leave. They were not busy so there was not a good excuse for not getting back to our table. We loved the coconut cream and cherry pies but the apple pie had a very thick tough crust so will not be getting that one again. I did love this place and will most likely give them another try. read more

The food was good and the server we had was fantastic! My ONLY gripe is that we wish we would've known we could've sat upstairs for a more formal experience since my husband and I were celebrating just getting married. This is also not the kind of place to bring you a tiny free dessert for special occasions, but I don't think anyone does that anymore. Not that I'm looking for handouts, but I just remember it being a lot more common back in the day and it always makes you feel extra appreciated when celebrating such a big occasion, especially when your bill is over $100...not including tip. Ginger and baker We want to let you know that my wife and I had dinner at the bar downstairs on Sunday early evening. The two bartenders were awesome. Ryan was polite and attentive, but not hovering. He took our drink order and promptly brought us creat cocktails. It was then shift change and Jess took over. He was just as attentive as Ryan. My wife and I struck up a conversation with Jess as the Resteraunt was fairly quiet. I just have to say that Jess is fantastic!!! We ordered our meal and I ordered the meatloaf for the first time in at least 2 years. It used to be my wife's favorite until we brought friends here as we were bragging on your meatloaf. Well, the meals were nothing like we had before. We were very disappointed and a little embarrassed. Well, apparently you went back to the original recipe as our meals last night were fantastic. However, it took a while for our waitress to greet our table and get our order. The menu has a good variety of cozy food options. We started with the brussel sprouts & ceviche. For our meals choices they carried between the house salad with grilled chicken, meatloaf and pot pie-- the crust on the pot pie was my favorite.
