Showed up around 11am on a Saturday and we were able to be seated immediately, which was great! However, it took at least 10 min for a server to acknowledge us or even bring water, which we found unusual. We got the Corn Cakes & House Chorizo, which was recommended by our server. My boyfriend thought it was a bit dry overall, but I will say that the spinach coulis that they put on the side was really nice (they didn't put enough on the plate, but had no problem bringing us more!) and the poblano jam added some unexpected sweetness to the dish. There's plenty of seating available including outdoor seating which was nice. The service was good. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Rated this place a 3 because of the food. We ordered the Undecided Benedict which includes two poached eggs, one with smoked ham and classic hollandaise, and the other egg with house made sausage gravy; Both eggs served on a toasted English muffin with Rise potato (hash browns served like a muffin) The Rise potato was burnt all around the sides and the top so really only the middle part was edible. The Benedicts were mediocre so nothing really stood out about that dish. We also got the Rajas and Eggs which is Rajas (spicy blend of roasted poblanos, redskin potatoes, onions, seasoning), two scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, roasted red pepper coulis, corn tortillas. I had high hopes for the Rajas and Eggs with the mention of spices, veggies, seasonings. Overall, I wouldn't order this dish again. I ended up leaving half of my breakfast because it wasn't appetizing to me. Maybe it's lacking a different texture? The owner/cook was extremely accommodating, and also stressed how the elements went together well. He was right. I was so happy with my dish. My friend got the Lorraine frittata and the herb aioli on top was to die for. She added their house hot sauce and it was the perfect mix of flavor and slight spice. It didn't taste like a chunky can of salsa, it was so flavorful. The service was amazing. Both the owner and the waitress were kind and attentive. I really hate to provide a bad review for an locally-owned and operated restaurant but we were: a) served cold green chili, b) charged for but never received french-press coffee; and c) treated less than hospitable by the hostess seating us. Response to Owner: Yes, the owner did come out and apologize for the cold chili and that was appreciated. I stand by my comment about the seating hostess. I didn't mention that my wife was served a chai tea latte. When it arrived, it had a large blob of cool whip on top. Before my wife could mention she didn't want the cool whip, the server had left and we didn't have any plates to remove the cool whip to at the time. Unfortunately, before she could get either server's attention (several minutes), it had fully dissolved into the otherwise tasty drink. I take Yelp reviews seriously and typically post positive reviews more frequently than negative reviews. Service was great, but the food was terrible! Marylin was my server and she's great overall! I was grateful for her hospitality. I ordered a breakfast burrito, and the potatoes were not cooked fully. They were hard and raw. I also ordered cinnamon roll French toast that had absolutely no flavor at all. It tasted close to the flavor of water with some sprinkles of nutmeg. There was raw egg present in between the bread as well. The cream cheese helped it out a little but overall, I disliked the food very much. Unfortunately, it was my very first attempt to try the food out here, but I won't ever come back because of those reasons. I understand how criticism may not be accepted by some people and reading the responses from the owner or manager were disheartening. I hope that criticism and feedback were helpful in building the team to do better. After all, we go out to eat, pay a decent price for a nice meal and expect an edible delicious meal.
