Immediately when you walk in, the Silver Grill is super welcoming! Its very bright and cute, a little bit old-timey. Our server was so nice and super helpful. She even split our order for us! The Silver Grill is famous for their cinnamon rolls, and once you have one, you understand why. It's sweet but not overly so, and the warm cinnamon and frosting are TO DIE FOR! Also, it is HUGE, perfect for two people to share. We also shared the traditional Benedict, which has an English muffin, grilled ham (SO GOOD), and a poached egg, all smothered in a delicious and flavorful hollandaise. I definitely recommend ordering it. Additionally, they have two house hot sauces that are amazinggg. The red one is very spicy, and it was so good with the ham, but a bit too hot for the potatoes. The real heroes were the hash browns--seasoned and browned just right. Sausage patties were lackluster, evoking memories of free motel breakfasts--shoulda got bacon. The biscuit held up its end of the deal, The gravy had perfect thick texture, but little flavor. I'd get something else if we came back. Rueben: Very well made for a diner and big enough to take half home. The quality of beef used should be a selling point. Bit skimpy on the kraut. Kids pancakes disappeared quickly, along with a side of thick, tasty bacon. "World Famous" cinnamon rolls: We'd never heard of them but they looked and smelled good. I ordered the bacon and the cinnamon roll toast. The country breakfast was the ultimate comfort breakfast. The cinnamon rolls here are next level and a must have with your meal. The cinnamon roll toast is my favorite. It's a cinnamon roll, split and griddled with butter. It's perfectly toasted and has a light crunch. They also have traditional cinnamon rolls in mini and giant sizes as well as different flavors. They come in traditional/homestyle, pecan, and seasonal flavors. When we visited, they had the creme brûlée cinnamon roll as the seasonal roll. The only "downside" of this place is finding a place to park, but that's expected given the downtown location and the restaurant's popularity. This is straightforward a very good breakfast place. They are I guess famous for their Cinnamon Rolls and they are indeed very good but I'm not even a huge fan of Cinnamon Rolls anyway. The make a very good Benedict here, maybe one of the best and other items on the menu are really good too. The place can get pretty busy and there might be a wait. Service was excellent, for example, I wanted a small Cinnamon Roll, the server came back and said they were out of small ones but he would give me a large one without any extra charge. Those small things make a huge difference. The place is in a historic building and it's nice that they have some signage with the building history on premise. My one complaint is that it does get pretty temperature warm inside, which didn't help us trying to escape the heat of the outdoors. The food portions are huge.
