Persimmon is officially one of my favorite places in Fort Collins! You MUST come here and visit. Every item on their menu is a dream - carefully crafted with perfect flavors. I came here with a partner en route to Laramie WY. We each ordered a sandwich and split their Shishito Peppers and Baba Ganoush. All of that and their mocktails were delicious. Service is also top notch. We chose to sit upstairs, which felt cozy. I love all the décor and their whole vibe in general. I want to come back to try everything else on their menu - from drinks and tapas to desserts. I have my eye on their Persian Love Cake and Tres Leches Cake, which I wish I had ordered to-go. Good tapas. We had the pibil tacos, pork arepas, and bao buns. All delicious. The carrot cake was outstanding. Incredible frosting. Loved the loungey ambiance in the basement. Felt like I was in some cool bohemian living room. The Paloma was great. My dining companions ordered the coconut margarita and said it was really good. Not sweet. Friendly service. My friends and I were on the hunt for something warm after the No Kings March. The usual Old Town coffee shops were packed, so we moved along. As we were wandering northward someone started suggested G&B. My reaction was absolutely not, why don't we go to Persimmon instead? "Oh, I've heard good things - where is it?" There. "Where?" Right there. "I don't see it." That door directly across the street from us! Persimmon is quite inconspicuous from the street, but is one of Fort Collins' hidden in plain sight gems. That proved to be a good thing on a day where thousands of people pretty much had the same thought of needing something to warm up - while there were throngs at other places we passed by Persimmon was nearly empty. Our group of 6 easily found a comfy spot for our group. It turns out the we beat the lunch rush - it started to get quite busy once noon rolled around. After perusing the menu for warm drinks a few decided they were hungry so food was ordered as well. I had a matcha latte, unsweetened, and it was a perfect choice to warm up after being out in the wind and bluster that morning. They use a ceremonial grade matcha, which I found to be smooth and really not bitter. I also shared a pastrami sandwich with one of my friends - they were nice enough to bring out the sandwich halves on two plates. While not a New York deli kind of sandwich, it was good - quality ingredients on focaccia. They source their pastrami from a specialty butcher in Denver, though I've forgotten their name. Sandwiches are served with kettle chips that are light, crispy, and not too oily. In a previous visit I had their tuna sandwich and sampled some appetizers. The tuna sandwich was among the best I have ever had - I can't really put my finger on why but I do remember that my first bite wowed me. I didn't see the meze sampler on the menu this time, but as I recall the beet hummus was a standout. I don't lunch out in Old Town very often, but Persimmon is always such a pleasure. I need to make a point of coming more often. read more

Super cute inside! Nice spot to hang out with friends. There are different areas in the restaurant: a work and study area with normal coffee shop tables, a section with sofas to chill and have coffee, and a second floor with seating where they serve food. I really appreciated the laid back vibe of this place. It felt like it was way more of a coffee shop than a full restaurant. It felt very comfy. The babaganoush and Brie were pretty solid and tasty. The in-house pita was a good texture and felt very crispy. We asked for more even and they gave us some. I do think that the things were a bit overpriced, especially the sandwiches for how much you get. The sandwich I felt didn't have as much meat as it could've so it felt a bit underwhelming. Don't even hesitate. Eat here!! Stopped in for an early lunch and I was blown away by the food. A friend and I shared the baked feta, cucumber salad, and dolmas and it was so delicious I was thinking about it for hours afterward. The design of the place is beautiful too, with casual seating you could sit and hang out for hours or standard tables and chairs. Staff was nice and helpful and they had beers on tap! However went for breakfast on a Friday morning- the online menu and yelp reviews aren't right- they don't actually have a breakfast menu, but do make espresso drinks. Tasty, high end sandwiches and pastries. Everything on the menu looked delicious, a lot of different flavors. I probably wouldn't order the Brie sandwich again, as it was a bit sweet for me. However, they have a lot of other interesting choices. Service was great, even though I was the only one sitting at the top. Background music was nice, but too loud. Indeed, it was quite serene at Persimmons; though, that might have been that I was the only one there. Two items to be aware: There is a very limited menu. I really liked the options, but could easily imagine some would struggle to find something to their liking. Persimmons certainly isn't cheap. Had a great time at Persimmon last Saturday night! I love trying new places and, somehow, this establishment did not cross my radar until recently. They have built a reputation for quality craft cocktails and I thoroughly enjoyed my Darling Nikki. It was fresh and creamy with cucumber being the star of the drink. Beer and wine is also available. The food menu is limited to small plates and sandwiches but all 3 we selected were unique and tasty. The blistered shishitos were served with honey, the baked feta was topped with chilis and the dolmas were perfectly comforting with that hint of sourness. There are probably a dozen tables but we were seated immediately even on a weekend night. It definitely seemed like a great spot for a girls' night so I will be keeping that in mind for next time! read more

Omg. The flavors of the food and drinks are PHENOMENAL. I had a vanilla latte, which was smooth and full of vanilla beans was exquisite. My boyfriend had the El Dorado and it was aromatic and the mix of flavors that was delicate and combined perfectly. For food, the Cucumber Salad is delightful and fresh with the light bit of tahini dressing and pickled shallots to give it a kick of flavor but refreshing with the feta and cucumber. Also, the chicken salad sandwich was packed with spices and curry, but to the point where it wasn't unbearably spicy. Loved it. Even the chips that were paired with the sandwich were perfect. The service was awesome and attentive as well. Very helpful, kind and friendly! 15/10 would go a thousand times over. read more

I started following Persimmon on Instagram when I heard it was headed up by cocktail-creation genius Raffi of Elliot's and Social. After seeing a beautiful image of a frothy chai, I headed directly to the little cafe the following morning before work. It's located at the corner of Jefferson and Linden with a divided tri-level space - entry floor with a bakery counter up front, bar with three seats and kitchen in back, as well as an upstairs lounge with tables and a downstairs lounge with couches. I ordered the chai I'd seen on their post with oat milk and grabbed a table upstairs with a view of Jefferson Street. A few sips later, Raffi brought up a sample of their insanely delicious baklava - nutty, full of honey and a perfectly flaky phyllo holding everything together in a perfect little pocket. I finished my delicious chai and baklava, ordered a rhubarb tart to-go for my husband and headed to work. I wasn't done for the day yet, however! My friend was needing late lunch (and I was needing a late lunch break) and we found ourselves back at Persimmon! We grabbed two of the three bar stools, chatted with the friendly bartender, Holling (I hope that spelling is correct), and asked for some recommendations. I started off with the Wildflower - wildflower syrup, seltzer and fresh lime, while my friend got their Viola - aquavit, beet juice, ginger liqueur and lemon. I stole a sip (I hate beets) and LOVED this drink! Earthy, herbal and refreshing at the same time. For food I went with some small plates - baked feta with a crispy chili oil and baba ganoush with baked pita. Everything was perfectly handcrafted, well-priced and the perfect size for my appetite. The chili oil and feta combination has had me daydreaming about it to this day, and as much as I'm trying to save money as of late, I know I'll be going back this week and for brunch this weekend to try more of their diverse menu. read more

Persimmon is a very niche and creative space. It exhibits pops of color throughout from the rugs, mugs, art and menus. Every aspect of this establishment showcases the creativity of whoever designed it. These are my favorite kinds of places, I love personality. As for the food, it was nothing short of an imaginative, quality meal. I have a Brie sandwich which contained a fruity raspberry habanero jam. The Bloody Mary is delicious and herby with a homemade feel. The Orval trappist ale was delicious. The food was good. I had the grilled cheese which is very different, the cheese is more of a pesto. It was flavorful, but just a smidge to dry for me. It just needed a sauce such as a balsamic to make it better. But still delicious. My husband had the pastrami sandwich and said it was great. We shared a beet salad which felt a bit small, but was packed full of flavor. Overall a good lunch. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary. read more

I might give them another shot someday, but with the amount of competition in Fort Collins it will likely be quite a while. You order at the counter, and then they bring your order to the table. It's kind of a jumbled mess figuring out the food and drink menu while other people are waiting to order behind you. There are too many selections and different pieces of one sided and two sided pieces of paper to digest in less than about 5 minutes. People with experience here sent people ahead to claim seating in one of the 4 (including the bar) separate seating areas, so when we were done, we trekked upstairs, then downstairs, and finally came back to the tiny table by the counter which we had shunned earlier. We ordered two sandwiches and a beer and a cappuccino, and when the drinks came, they came without a napkin. I had a beer foam mustache (Trappist Ale, lot's of creamy foam) and my wife a cappuccino foam mustache and we made do with the back of our hands until the sandwiches came with a napkin wrapped silverware bundle. The sandwiches were tiny, and my tuna filling was macerated way beyond anything I've seen, as well as being quite wet. It ran out of the sandwich like thick pancake batter, and was quite bland. The focaccia bread was undercooked and had a strip of solid dough stratified in the middle, right where it was cut. A lot like chewing on a dough ball. We had high expectations for this place based on other people's reviews. The menu is quite inviting, and the interior is quite nice, and so is the staff. I am among those who think "tipping culture" has gotten out of hand. Be prepared here to have a range of 18%-25% pop up while you are at the counter, prepaying for food and service which is yet untested. read more
