We came here on a Saturday night. I called for reservations and we were seated right away. There's a lot of seating which is good because the place was packed. I like the ambiance, artwork at almost every booth. There were these pretty looking iron made pineapples over our booth. The seats are very comfortable. We ordered the coconut shrimp and the sauce was very tasty with a tangy spice. My friend ordered a Lamerá posa cocktail and it was well crafted and delicious. My friend ordered the fish tacos with mango salsa on the side and served with rice and beans. I ordered the grilled salmon that comes with a Chili Lime Glaze / Serrano Avocado Salsa / Ancho-Orange Tossed Arugula / Sweet Heat Balsamic Reduction / Arroz Fresco / Grilled Summer Vegetables. Overall a good and light meal. The arugula was flavorful and complemented the salmon perfectly. It might've been my favorite part of the dish. The pineapple was super fresh. The corn tortillas were delicious. But there wasn't too much meat and other toppings. Nothing super special. Sangria swirl: 6/10. It was super sweet. Flavor was good, I wish it was half as sweet as it was. Our waters got refilled pretty slow. But our server was nice. Ambiance was 10/10. The furniture was beautiful. The decorations were awesome. I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur, and frankly resent that I'm writing such a glowing review for a restaurant so far from Mexico. But this was genuinely some of the best Mexican-inspired food of my LIFE! As a vegetarian, Mexican food tends to be hit or miss when it comes to creative meat substitutes. Blue Agave chose fried avocado tacos as its offering, and WOW. They were truly amazing. Life changing. Well spiced, the right amount of filling in each taco, and the avocado itself was perfectly ripe and fried well without much residual grease. Not only that, but the side beans and rice were incredible. The portions were generous and spiced magically- I could eat just the beans and rice as a dish on its own. I was also astounded by how the grilled corn sauce was thick and saucy, but tasted EXACTLY like elote- some kind of culinary magic. This place may be slightly pricier, but the food portions are large and I cleaned my plate and left feeling stuffed. My companions couldn't finish their beans and rice, and if I didn't think I was going to explode I would have cleaned their plates, too. I'm glad I don't live in FoCo or else I would go broke eating here. I cannot recommend it enough, especially those avocado tacos. I will be dreaming of them for years. The restaurant was a little jammed when I visited and some might find the atmosphere overwhelming, but I would say it's absolutely worth it. I have come here a couple times for dinner since moving to the area and it has never disappointed. Servers are always friendly and welcoming, food is always delicious, and the location in Old Town is hard to beat. My favorite dish I have tried is the Pork Carnitas. With the dish you get multiple pieces of slow roasted pork laying in a delicious green salsa and tortillas and black beans on the side. I would say menu items are a bit more on the pricey side, but the quality of the food and the service certainly make up for it. We had the check-in special Corn and Chorizo dip, which was a blend of sweet corn and spicy chorizo in a cheesy base. And then we had the Black and White Nachos. O.M.G. Amazing flavors, and each nacho had a little baby shrimp. This is the way to do nachos, IMO. A simple presentation of loaded chips. No need for a giant pile of chips. We also had the street tacos. Three generous helpings of yummy pork carnitas. Again, marvelous combination of balanced flavors. Our server, Jeremy, was GREAT. He explained that this is a "from scratch," kitchen, so that modifications could be made for allergies or whatever. This was excellent news, because we were able to ask that spinach not befoul our glorious nachos. Jeremy was both personable and professional. He knows the menu thoroughly and took the time to make recommendations and answer questions. We will definitely return on our next visit to FOCO, or perhaps try the Denver outpost. read more

Great option downtown Fort Collins located at the art museum building. The place is very busy and has a wait but the bar area is open seating. The food was good and the service was excellent. The prices are reasonable in today's standard for what you get. They have Guacamole with twists so we went with one of those and it still tasted pretty conventional, I hope they make it taste less conventional. We planned to have dinner there before a show at the Aggie. Surprisingly the Nutcracker performance was down the block and the place was packed with a 90 min. wait. We managed to snag a couple of bar stools and had dinner there. I don't recall our servers name but she was a joy, in spite of the crowd. Margarita's were great! They're made with fresh lime juice, constantly juicing limes as we were there. Food was also great. Give the queso fondudo a try as an appetizer, not your typical quest blanco for sure! read more

What a lovely restaurant! The main entrance is located on the side of the Museum of Art's building so you have to look for it. Once again, the food was amazing and the service was wonderful! Katrina took such good care of us and guided us to some new items - the chorizo and corn appetizer dip is fantastic! Paired with the classic margarita and you have a great start to your evening. This place is my new favorite Mexican spot. Their guacamole is fresh and delicious- I added the mango salsa and I could've eaten it with a spoon, it was so good. Pineapple margarita was amazing, not too strong but had a good kick. The street tacos were my favorite food item, the salmon wontons were ok. We love this place but I asked for extra dressing on a Cobb salad with chicken and was charged $1.50 for extra dressing! And the Cobb was already 19.00 Not a good feeling! My family and I moved here a couple years ago and have been eyeing this place since. We had family in town this week and got the chance to finally try it out. First of all, our server, nick, was a total pro. Also, the dining space was spacious and comfortable. The black and white nachos app was spectacular. Ordered chicken tacos for our toddler and she ate almost all of it. They were giant by the way. Mother in law had one of their specials, blue corn enchiladas. She loved every bite. Wife had the blue agave tacos. She's also real picky about fish. I had a bite. They were fantastic. I had the adobo pork burrito. It was, hands down, the best burrito I've ever had. 100%. The balance of spice and the sugars from the chili sauce was absolute perfection. The tortilla almost had the texture of filo dough. Pork had a tender and juicy bite - but was peppered with those small crunchy bits that you pray for in any pulled meat. I cleaned the entire plate. If I had to critique something for the sake of not saying it was literal perfection, it would have to be the jalapeño margarita I ordered. It was good, but a bit spicier than expected or hoped for. The tequila was infused with jalapeño so it wasn't just a 'hint.' We're moving out of state next month and our only regret since being here is not eating here weekly. Good for you, Fort Collins. The stuffed sopapilla was ok, I think the waiter brought it out a little late as the ice cream was more cream than ice. Onto why I didn't give it 5 stars. The service was terrible!!!! Our waiter came over with water and didn't offer any other drinks. Two of us were able to order drinks with our meal and when the third person tried he fully ignored them. We tried 4 different times to get his attention to order the drink while we waited for our food and he never acknowledged or stopped by. He was working the tables around us and we found he was very friendly for the most part with other tables. I thought it was just us then realized us and one other table were older groups and he basically ignored both tables. Towards the end of the evening he was talking to another table about what NOT to order for dinner as it is terrible and just not worth the cost. I understand answering the what do you recommend when people ask, but going into detail about what and why not to order something is loudly enough that other tables can hear is not very professional. read more

Usually, coming here is a good experience, but this last visit was quite the opposite. Our server only spoke to me and ignored my partner, who was paying. I ordered a burger cooked medium, but it came out very rare. We sent it back to be cooked a little longer, but only after flagging down another server, as ours was nowhere to be found. While waiting, I finished my beer. Several workers walked by and even came to our table, yet no one asked if I'd like to order another drink. I feel it's common courtesy to make a customer feel as comfortable as possible, especially when their order isn't prepared correctly. Eventually, our server returned to let me know the kitchen was working on my burger and asked if we wanted it to go, as my partner had already finished eating. What should have taken less than 10 minutes to fix ended up taking over 30. We were offered a complimentary brownie and a $15 voucher for our next visit. However, this didn't cover the $21 burger. Since I wasn't even able to eat my burger at the restaurant due to the delay, I expected it to be taken off the bill--but instead, the restaurant tried to compensate with "extras."
