Disappointed in the tacos at DGT. I've heard good things so I was excited to try this place out. I usually order corn tortillas, but the staff at the front said she recommends the flour tortillas instead. I ordered two tacos total and decided to opt for one taco of the month with the corn tortilla and one cajun chicken taco with the flour tortilla. I also ordered the spicy chocolate horchata. The filling in both tacos was sparse. There was hardly any filling in both of the tacos so that was a bad start to the meal as the server placed the tacos in front of me. The filling in the taco of the month had good flavor, but the corn tortilla was hard and inedible. I threw away the whole corn tortilla it was so bad. The cajun chicken taco fill was not appealing to me. It was mid at best, but at least the flour tortilla was edible? The spicy chocolate horchata reminds me more of a Mexican hot chocolate served cold than an horchata. That was the best part of my meal. My friend ordered one of the power bowls and she really enjoyed her lunch. She ate about a third of it and took the rest home for leftovers; The portions are generous. The staff was friendly which is always appreciated so that was the best part of my experience at DGT, but the tacos were terrible so I don't think I'll return. read more

Well was really looking forward to this place after the reading the reviews and since it was right across from CSU campus. Well trying to find parking was very difficult. They did have good guac and chips, the hibiscus tea was OK limited on drinks also no fountain drinks either bottled drink or water. The menu was very limited on tacos and the cost was pretty high for having something similar to street tacos . Not a total disappointment it Just wasn't to my liking. read more

Give bucks per taco seems a bit much they are very good a filling though. Super excesssble lots of parking. People were super nice and biting you food carry out is super fast as well. Was craving fish tacos today and was not going to settle for something else. Been scarfing up these tasty little tacos since I first discovered them in 1981 in San Diego. When my buddies there suggested we go get us some, I thought they were messing with me as I had never heard of them before! Turns out that San Diego happened to be the home of Ralph Rubio, owner of Rubio's Fish Tacos. He had gone down to San Felipe in Baja and saw they were all the rage down there so he opened his first store in San Diego and was the only place serving fish tacos at the time so that's where I lost my fish taco virginity. Now you know where the description Baja Style comes from, if you didn't already know that is. For those that aren't in the know, Baja Style refers to deep fried fish filets coated in a luscious beer batter. Like most of us I love that style- its the OG and I've certainly eaten my fair share of them!! Today however, I was craving a cleaner version, e.g., a grilled fish taco. Being a relative newbie to FoCo, (moved here a little over a year ago in January of 2024) I'd had tacos from a few trucks around town as well as a couple of brick and mortar spots but they only had Baja Style tacos on the Menu, with a couple of exceptions that were so pedestrian and lacking in "el sabor", Flavor, I won't mention them. So today, I researched multiple spots online until I found what I was looking for, Eureka! Grilled Fist Tacos at DGT!! Ordered the two taco plate which came with rice and beans and was so hangry I also ordered the Appetizer Side of Chips and Salsa. I say Appetizer size as they also have smaller "sides" which cost a bit less. Ordering was easy and as a first time user of the App, I saved 20% Arrived right on time @ 2:30 and walked into the tiny location. Was greeted by a very friendly employee from the Kitchen (you look right into it from the Counter location) who told me he'd be right with me. Almost immediately, another gent asked my name, checked the order and started filling up a bag of freshly made chips! The fellow in the back assured me my order would be right up. As I waited, I was reviewing the Menu and noticed it said Tacos came on Flour Tortillas. I much prefer corn and frankly, I couldn't recall if I had specified that on my online order. I asked the Chef and he said they were usually on flour tortillas so I asked him if it were too late to change. With a smile, he said, not a problem I'll heat them up and change them for you! He really went the extra mile for me to do this and made the change in a jiff! He didn't have to do that and I was very grateful. In no time at all, I was back at home and chowing down!! OMG, fish tacos were FIRE!!! Some of the best I have ever had without a doubt! Glorious fish tacos with tender, flaky and flavorful fish and plenty of it! These were hefty tacos, very filling and very sabrosa! And the sides of beans and brown rice were clearly not an afterthought. The rice was studded with bits of kale and packed with flavor while the beans were tender and sprinkled with pico de gallo. With plenty of chips and salsa, I had more than enough for a super delish and filling lunch! I was so pleased with every aspect of DGT Tacos, from the friendliness of staff, to the ease of ordering, the going the extra mile for me in changing out my tortillas and the fabulous, flavorful and filling food! Five Stars on a scale of one to five! I highly recommend this local spot and will be returning myself as I work my way through the other items on the menu. read more

My daughter and i are having a "date" night and decided to try out DGT based on the yelp search for vegan and gluten free restaurants. This one popped up first and had 4.5 star average and 222 reviews at the time of teh search. We both opted to order a taco plate which consists of 2 tacos of your choice, and then a blend of kale, spices, rice and beans. The rice and beans are vegan friendly so that is always cool. Never know on beans. So lets start with the good : 1. the vibe is fun. It is very hippy-esque. 2. They offer trash, recycling and composting bins for when you are done with your meal so you can dispose accordingly 3. if you dine in, they do have regular plates and forks you can use so you dont have to worry about adding more trash to the environment 4. If you get a to-go container it is compostable and environmentally friendly. Not styrofoam which is always a plus in my opinion. 5. The earth, wind and fire taco I thought was very good and very flavorful. The blend of rice, beans, kale and spices was also really good and flavorful in my opinion. Not so good : 1. parking - not sure where exactly you are to park? it is in the music district and under the alley cat to give you perspective on where it is. We parked a few blocks away and walked in. That was not bad. Would just be good if it popped up as not necessarily spots to park so people knew in advance. 2. Staff was okay. I told him it our first time trying it and he just kinda stared at me blankly and waited for me to order. Maybe having an off night? not sure. 3. the tofu thai taco was pretty bland. My daughter thought the flavor was strange. I just thought it didn't have much flavor at all? 4. We both thought the chips (for chips and salsa) tasted a little stale and the salsa tasted like it was a little heavy on sweetener of some sort. Was not expecting a "sweet" tasting salsa. 5. not a ton of seating. There are 2 tables inside and then a couple of window seats. They do have a little outdoor seating. Not sure how busy they get but be prepared that seating might not always be an option. My daughter thought this place is for people who like uniquely flavored food. It is not the average type of taco place for sure. I am not sure we will be back. But it was fun to try something new. read more

Both tacos and the beans & rice side dish (on their Taco Plate), all of them had a HUGE salt presence. It wasn't enough to turn back in as inedible, but was not far from it. Had it been just a bite or two, that can be overlooked, but it was throughout all dishes consistently. I go into every restaurant hoping for 5 stars, but DGT just wasn't there due to salt issues. One idea would be to use garlic instead of so much salt to enhance flavor and deepen the flavor profile. Wish the business the best, though I don't see us returning. read more

This is one of my favorite Taco joints I have (get this) EVER been to. I don't just mean in Fort Collins I mean anywhere I have been. Now that's extreme but serious this place lives up to its name. Now I am vegetarian and that one of the things that makes it even more Damn good! My favorites is are the Thai Signature Taco and the Breakfast Bombshell is the BOMB! Now these days with the health crisis do make it so you can not eat in their nice dinning area jut the have hot sauces to go which is a nice thing. This is always my first stop to Fort Collins ever visit to town! I have been here countless times and the food is freakin awesome every time. I finally remembered to give DGT a try! Damn Good is right!!! So glad that I made it in. This place is a small, off-the-beaten-path (in this case off-the-alley), not quite hole-in-the-wall. In the best kind of way. It's festive inside; cool and welcoming. There's a few outdoor tables. Fun chalkboard to write on inside. An overall good vibe. But the food- You order right by the door. DGT offers lots of taco choices and a few not-taco choices. Everything sounded interesting and tasty making it tough for me to choose. I ended up going with the Greek taco and the Thai Chicken Taco. These are hearty, filling tacos - nothing wimpy here! They default to a flour tortilla but you can request corn instead. I loved the Thai taco. The flavor really hit the spot. I also liked my Greek taco filled with grilled chickpeas and other goodness; that was something I'd never seen before in a menu... a chickpea taco! Original! We sampled some chips and salsa to start. The chips were addictive and I suspect made onsite. My husband and daughter savored their taco order as well. We all agreed that everything seemed really fresh and made with care. It may have taken a damn long time to come try this restaurant, but I'll be back again soon! read more

After a rough day at work I stopped by DGT to indulge in a spicy chocolate horchata and some Earth, Wind, and Fire tacos. Let me tell ya there's no better cure for the blues than vegan tacos and horchata. The Earth, Wind, and Fire are by far my favorite of the vegan/vegetarian options. They're really flavorful and the sauce is fantastic. As for the horchata, it's delightfully sweet with a little kick of spice. I highly recommend DGT all day every day. read more

Their new location on laurel is much larger than beneath the Alley Cat and has great dining ambiance. It's a good place to take folks from out of town. I recently came here for the first time while studying at the Alleycat upstairs and I really enjoyed my food! My friend got the tacos and I got a bowl, the serving was huge it lasted me 2 days. The gentleman who took my order was so sweet! I wish there was room for more seating inside because this place rocks! I also loved how they had ice cold water out for the customers (always a plus). Beer served here as well which is great, though it cannot be taken upstairs. The best part was the worker brought my meal up to me at Alleycat when it was ready! Wow. This place is good. Not your traditional tacos with just good seasoned meats, but they have tacos here that are suped-up with flavor. I ordered the earth, wind, fire taco - amazing. The chocolate horchata drink is heavenly. My partner would have liked for it to be slightly spicier, but I loved it. I would come back just for this. I will be dreaming of it and trying to recreate it once I am back home in Wisconsin. So good. We also got a couple of New Belgium beers, Dominga mimosa sour and a tropical wheat. The what was a little too fruity for me, but both were pretty drinkable. We tried the Earth Wind and Fire taco and the Thai peanut and both were decent sized and tasty. Down the back alley difficult cock to find truly a "hole in the wall" seats about 20 people but the food was delicious! Service was great and quick they had a nice selection of local beers and they have a beautiful outdoor area for when the weather permits.
