Great food and service! Great environment too! Definitely get the Carne Asada great tacos!

Really 2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 ... This is "Dam Good Tacos," as opposed to "damn good tacos," so I suppose there's no truth in advertising gripe to be had. Their little take-away menu flyer thingy positions them as "Authentic American tacos." I am at a loss for what that is supposed to mean ... ground beef sauteed with a Swanson's seasoning packet, stuffed into a hard corn tortilla shell? Well, at least they have exceeded that low bar. As someone else has mentioned, the tacos here bear a striking resemblance to kiddie quesadillas, but with better fillings. I tried the Mediterranean fish and slow roasted pork (might as well try a couple, because they are 2/$5 ... didn't ask if you could get 1 for $2.50, but you'd probably leave pretty hungry if you only got one) and found them to be decently tasty, once I let go of my expectations for an actual taco. They have some interesting drinks ... I tried the chocolate chile horchata, which was coconut milk-based rather than rice milk (or rather, ground rice) based, but hey, this is an American taco stand so I just went with the flow. Note that if you are getting take-out and get one of their house-made drinks, they don't have disposable cups so they'll put your drink in a lidded mason jar. Oh so very green and cool, eh? But you'll have to pay $1 deposit on the mason jar. Anyway, I didn't like my first sip at all -- it seemed to be all sweetness and no chocolate or chile, but once the chile heat kicked in it was not bad. All in all, I'd have to say that at best Dam Good Tacos is a dang good spot for a cheap late-night snack. read more

The answer to my taco prayer! Myself and three other ladies were on a road trip from Denver. Mission: hiking and beer drinking. That combo leaves you very hangry, and when I get to that point I crave something spicy and in the form of a folded tortilla. We walked to Dam Good after the sun had set. The location was a little difficult to find. Just trust your GPS! Although Yelp informed me they have outdoor seating, it is very limited. Our group of four was too many, so we sat inside on a nice night. Ordering was a breeze. I'm a big fan of limited menus... less deciding! I ordered the bandito and the earth, wind and fire. The bandito was a robust flavor with pork and tomatillo sauce. Really enjoyed it. I ordered the EWF only because it sound very different and I'm always curious if something vegetarian will satisfy my taste buds. This taco did indeed!! It was a bit on the sweet side with the sweet potato puree but it was balance out with the bitterness of the kale and the spice of the tomato ginger sauce. The crunch of the sliced almonds added an extra layer of tasty. Very shocked at how much I like this taco! I also ordered the hibiscus refresher. Hibiscus can be very bitter. I've made hibiscus tea before and trust me... to get it to taste good you have to add a ton of sugar. It was a bit bitter. The cinnamon gave it a weird flavor I wasn't expecting. I can see how someone would like this drink, but it just wasn't for me. A friend ordered the horchata, and I had a taste. Now that is a drink I can become addicted to! Cinnamon in this drink too, but I think it a much better flavor combo. Also, note that this drink is served over ice. The five stars is for value, a clever menu and two very yummy tacos. If in Ft. Grabbed a late lunch here the other day. Super friendly service and smells invite you into this hole in the wall taco shop. They have a great vegetarian/vegan menu as well as a full lineup of meat tacos to choose from. Chips and salsa came out quickly with freshly made chips and a slightly smoky tomato salsa. Portions were very generous. Tacos and burritos arrived short after and were piping hot and packed full of flavor. The tzakiki and the honey chipotle are INCREDIBLE. 10/10 will be back. Left feeling full and happy. Great vibes and great food makes DGT one of the best taco shops in Fort Collins. read more

This has to be some of my favorite food in Fort Collins. The staff is friendly and will assist if you have any questions or dietary restrictions. The food is amazing, not authentic Mexican, but some of the best tacos I've ever had. Their quesadilla chips are a great appetizer and the sauce they serve with them is booming with flavor. There is also a bar and coffee shop connected to DGT that are separate businesses, although you can take your food in either of them just don't bring any alcoholic beverages. The hot sauce they have there, 'Merfs', is a local brand that once tried I decided to buy on my own and I'm glad I did it's my new favorite. The ambiance is nothing to write home about, although the bar next door has breathtaking vibes. read more

Dam good establishment. I was hesitant that this would be some mediocre college hipster taco shop, but its actually a high quality college hipster taco shop. The moment I visited the upstairs, I fell in love with the artwork on the ceiling and general haphazardness of the colors on the walls. Something so inspiring to see all the collages and colors around. I ordered the carne asada and bandito on flour tortillas. Both were delicious. The carne asada was cooked just right. The bandito had a interesting flavor, with its sweet and savory compounds. All the fixings blended well and made the meal great. The spicy chocolate horchata was absolutely delicious. Every component of that drink played out like a jazz quartet in my mouth. The coconut milk and vanilla were sweet, while the chocolate gave it some earthiness, while the jalapeno spice gave it such a nice aftertaste. I highly advise everyone to order this drink if you can. I would highly recommend you try this place if you're in the area. I say park somewhere on the street (if you can), eat here, and then grab some beers at the the mayor of old town (which is in walking distance). read more

First time here from out of town and had absolutely delicious vegan tacos at DGT. My favorite was the Earth, Wind and Fire taco with tofu. Eric and Tanner were very patient and helpful as we did not know the menu and had questions. My omni partner had the carne asada taco and said it was the best carne asada taco she's ever had. That is a really big deal because we are visiting from LA and Mexican food is an art form there. I was stoked to try the place out so I stopped by after work with the kiddo & ordered a 2 taco specialty plate (slow roasted pork and carne asada), hibiscus refresher and spicy chocolate horchata. Total came to $21 after tax & tip.. a bit pricey. I was worried the meat would be seasoned too heavily for my son's liking, was reassured by staff that it would be fine. He wasn't able to eat either of the tacos (due to the seasoning) or the rice & beans since those appear to have minced Chiles mixed in. I at least enjoyed the way the beans were cooked; they had a great Al dente texture. The horchata was spicy, and an interesting experience. The hibiscus refresher, IMO, would be great mixed with club soda to cut down on the sweet/syrupy flavor. My takeaway on this experience- def worth trying, I recommend dining in. If you need to feed small/younger children, options may be limited and I'd ask for sauces on the side or left off. Great casual vibe, friendly service. read more

Dam Good Tacos it probably as close to Mexican as you can here in FOCO. My boyfriend, a local here in Fort Collins describes it as, "If you went to Chipotle, then threw it in the trash and went and got a real burrito." He is also a HUGE fan of their Spicy Chocolate Horchata. The "badito style" burrito is pretty solid and comes with slow roasted pork, grilled onions, brown rice, tomatillo avocado sauce, along with pinto beans and crispy cheese. The biggest downside of the place is the awkward placement of their front counter and waiting area. It is uncomfortably close to only entrance and it makes it awkward when you're picking up your food. read more

Nothing like a DAM GOOD TACO from DGT! There really is nothing like it in foco. Their menu features some of the best flavor combos, and they have the tastiest rice and beans in town (imho). I can't get enough of their horchata either. I usually go with the 2 taco plate, bandits and Thai chicken, but if they have a special taco I always have to give it to a try. This place is so good. I love hipster food, and this is the real deal. The rice and bean and kale mixture was amazing. I could eat that everyday. The fish taco was awesome. Also got the Barbacoa which was a little too salty for me. Next time would double up on the fish tacos (grilled tilapia). The presentation is wholesome and inviting, and service is genuine and warm. I was finishing my volunteer shift at KRFC, walking to catch the MAX at Laurel, when I decided it was high time I finally tried DGT. And you know what...they are damn good! SIDE NOTE: I hadn't been in this building since it was Roberto's Burritos, which was back in the 1980's or was it 1990's??? The corn tortilla was damn good, the filling was damn good, the sauce was damn good. All fresh, scratch made. Loved it! I will definitely come back soon, maybe a lot, since I'll be at KRFC a lot. I've had to update my review because I've grown to love this place. Even after going vegetarian, it's a go to for me. Small menu but it's all great. I love the rice and bean bowl, Summer Sautee and the Kale Salad. But you pretty much can't go wrong here. It's not much for ambiance though so just order take out and take it to the pad. Portions are generous too. Def. a top five spot in Fort Collins, especially if you're vegan/vegetarian. read more

We went to Wyoming a few weeks ago and decided to stop at this taco place for dinner in ft. Collins on the way home... The three stars isint because the food wasn't good...actually the food was great ...we got four different kinds of tacos to share and Choco-horchata to drink (yummy) !! I personally hated the location in a creepy alley .. We had our pup with us and the only seat was one crusty table by the door ...the chairs were broken but we made do... The issue was all the homeless looking people watching us eat and blowing cigs our way - I was so uncomfortable that we are as fast as we could ...so we could leave ... So I know things aren't always perfect and I'm just giving my honest opinion and sharing my experience with you.... The food was awesome !!! The location was very lack luster for me :.. These are the best non-authentic tacos in FoCo. The staff is top-notch, and the food is excellent. I usually go with whatever the monthly special is, but the bandito burrito is also a great choice.
