My recommendations: Get the horchata, chips and salsa, and the beans. The staff and service were great. There's plenty of seating including the indoor/bar area, and outdoor seating. It has a good, casual vibe. We ordered the chips and salsa which came with two types of salsa; a green and red one. Both salsas had a little kick to them, but not overly spicy. For our main entrees, we ordered the tacos al carbon. It's 3 tacos with your choice of meat (steak, steak diablo, pastor, carnitas, and chicken), one side, and some chips. I ordered 3 steak tacos and beans as my side. The beans were flavorful and the perfect portion. The tacos were filling; I only ate one and took two home for later, but could've been that I was already full off of the chips and salsa :) The horchata was one of my favorite parts of the meal. It's so good! I'd go there just for the horchata. I wish they had other aquas frescas, but the horchata alone is worth the visit. They also have a variety of Jarritos and bottled sodas like Mexican Coca Cola so plenty of drink options. I'll need to come back to try out their margs and other alcoholic drinks. We also got the churros to go. It came with 4 churros, caramel sauce, and a scoop of ice cream. The churros are served warm and go perfectly with the creamy ice cream. read more

The rice was bland, the bean was okay, the taco was good but not the best. The salsa wasn't great!! Chip and salsa for $9.00 and chip and guacamole for $12.00 were just okay, not the best, and not worth it!! Other restaurants provide free chip and salsa. The margarita was good but not the best. There are other restaurants better than Taco Stop. The total price was $118.00, which is crazy! I really thought it was the best, but nope! Really welcoming staff and quick service! We tried three types of tacos, the chips and salsa, chilaquiles and rice and beans. The steak and al pastor tacos were very good, I would highly recommend these. The corn tortillas they use are a step above what you'd find at most other shops around. They reminded us of the ones we get when we go visit family in Rosarito. The salsa on the chilaquiles was tasty but was lacking heat/spice, we added some of the diabla salsa and it was just right. The frijoles were also very good but a little disappointed the serving size was so small. Also a little disappointing that the chips and salsa were an additional $9. Not a huge fan of the seasoning they put on the chips. Rice and beans are also an additional fee and the seasoning for the rice not our favorite. The carnita taco was just ok. Not much flavor and a little on the mushy side. Overall we really enjoyed it. The decor was very nice, the staff is very friendly and the tacos as the name says were super yummy and why you should STOP here!! Food is always pretty tasty. But, the price is higher than expected for what you get. Most of the items offer 2 tacos at a 3 taco price. There's a couple 3 taco entrees that are priced $3-4 above similar competitors in town which in my opinion have better tacos. The carnitas I got inside of my tacos today were dried out and hard to chew. Since this isn't my only experience (today was worse than usual), I would say they typically have high quality offerings. My experience today with the wait staff was not great though. I came in during lunch.. there was a large group of people in the center of the restaurant monopolizing all of servers. It was unfortunate, but still it's hard to ignore how badly it affected the service... I was offered a seat at the bar and expected that that would get me some dedicated service. This was not the case. The bar was basically unmanned and servers would pass through doing random things without bothering to really check on me or the other two gentlemen at the bar for long stretches. If it wasn't for the on-staff manager who took my order and worked an apology into every interaction for their slow service I would have walked out. All of the servers I interacted with seemed to have no idea how to do their job. I was offered a seat and a menu but no follow-up. I was given a water but no opportunity to order food. And, then they asked if I wanted anything else but didn't offer to or bring the check. Every interaction led to long pauses of any interaction with wait staff, and the manager on staff was the only one that got me out the door in less than 90 minutes. I've also ordered food from them through DoorDash 2-3 times because of their location being close to my workplace and have always been puzzled at why their prices are higher than similar businesses while having the same (and in my opinion) slightly lower quality of taste in their tacos. read more

We were looking for a taco place near our temple and found this place at their old location. Shortly after, they moved to the new location. It's a little farther away for us, but we would make that drive every single time for this place. The food: those homemade chips are the best I've ever had. If you pair them with the choriqueso, it's unbeatable. The guacamole is fantastic too! Their stacked enchiladas with the soft corn tortillas are mouth watering. Top them with over easy eggs and it's one of the best meals you will ever have. Lastly, the birria tacos... thanks to TikTok, birria has become a viral food craze. You will not find better birria tacos than The Taco Stop. I had them last night and I'm already planning my next visit to have them again. Mind blowingly good food! The service: I have been here no less than 20 times in the past year, and every single time I've come, the service is awesome. The hosts and servers are always kind, accommodating, and fun. If you get Diego as your server, you will be in the best hands. The atmosphere: this is a come as you are casual vibe. No pretentiousness here! There's college students, families and retired couples all enjoying lunch or dinner. We don't drink, so we didn't get to experience the full bar, but if you want a strawberry margarita mocktail, you can't go wrong with the one they whipped up for me last night. I wanted to share feedback regarding a disappointing experience I had at The Taco Stop on the evening of Thursday, June 12th. A couple of friends and I met for dinner and drinks around 4:00 PM. We've dined at The Taco Stop several times and have always enjoyed the delicious food and exceptional service. Unfortunately, this visit did not reflect those past positive experiences. I arrived first, followed shortly by one friend, with the last joining us around 4:20 PM. Although the restaurant was not busy when we arrived, service was a little slow--which was not an issue for us, as we weren't in a rush. Our server, a young man with curly red hair and glasses, was excellent: friendly, attentive, and efficient. Our food arrived in a timely manner and, as always, was delicious. The issue occurred after we had finished our meal and were sitting at the table chatting. A heavyset woman in a red t-shirt, who I later learned was the manager, approached our table and asked how much longer we planned to stay. She went on to explain that she had a waiting list, implying that we were overstaying our welcome. This interaction was incredibly rude and unnecessary. We were not being disruptive, loud, or lingering unreasonably. We had been there just about two hours, which is a normal amount of time for a sit-down meal with friends. Additionally, there were at least three empty tables outside, two in our area, and a large one near the front entrance. Her tone made it very clear that she felt we should leave, and we were already preparing to do so. Between the three of us, we spent over $100 and tipped our server well. We are paying, loyal customers who have supported this restaurant multiple times and have recommended it to others. We left feeling dismissed and unwelcome, and it cast a shadow over what should have been a pleasant evening. I've dined everywhere from casual eateries to Michelin-starred restaurants and have never been asked to leave after a meal. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and unprofessional, especially coming from someone in a managerial role. If customers choose to wait for a table, that is their decision and part of the dining experience. Unfortunately, due to this experience, my friends and I will not be returning to The Taco Stop anytime soon. I also won't be recommending it to others as I have in the past. I sincerely hope upper management addresses this incident and provides proper coaching to this manager on how to handle guest interactions with respect and professionalism. read more

Taco Stop was super quiet the night I went in around 7p, with one other table taken up. This isn't usually a good sign, but it was snowing and cold outside. I thought Coloradans wouldn't let something like that slow them down, but giving Taco Stop the benefit of the doubt there. The chilaquiles I ordered arrived quickly, and were delicious. I've dined here many times since they moved to this location. It's very convenient and more centrally located. The food is fantastic and I've never had anything off the menu that I thought needed improvement. I've seen some people say it's pricey but that's only in comparison to your lower quality options. You'll get your money's worth. Service is great, the only time I had issues was after they got "famous" and were so busy they were struggling to keep up, but it's calmed down since then and they're back to high quality service. Even then it wasn't bad, it just took longer for everything. The food quality was still great. The margs are quite good and I usually have one even though I'm not typically inclined at most places, as it's not my thing but these are tasty. This review is for the taco cart that they have going right now Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights 9pm-2am on College and Oak. We've wanted to try Taco Stop for a long time but hadn't been up when they were open. We were in Fort Collins Saturday night but got done with errands too late to go to the restaurant and were really disappointed until we saw about the taco stand in Old Town late. We made a beeline and were not disappointed! I got an order of chicken tacos (sans lettuce) and my spouse got their al pastor tacos (sans onions). They were great! I literally just finished eating this dish and had to get right on to let everyone know about it! I decided it was a good day to get tacos (honestly though, what day isn't), and I hadn't tried out The Taco Stop since they got their brick and mortar, so I hopped in my car and headed down 287. I've been following The Taco Stop for years now, starting with those tipsy nights out in Old Town, and then chasing them down from brewery to brewery, so to see them grow from a little cart, to a large truck, and finally to a full size restaurant over the years has been such a thrill. The building is a little difficult to find if you don't have it in your GPS, but they recently started parking their larger truck out front, which made it a quick spot. I walked in to the expansive indoor space after watching two people walk out with their takeout orders and was helped immediately. I couldn't decide between the Fajitas Tacos or the Pastor Gringas, and the owner Berenice was on point with her recommendation! After just a few minutes wait (the kitchen seemed SLAMMED, so the speed I got these was impressive), I had my tacos wrapped up and ready to go. Ravenous, but knowing I had to do my due diligence, I snapped a few photos of these beauties before digging in. Still warm, the sweet al pastor and the crispy potato fries swirled around in the avocado creme like some beautiful ballroom dance. The roja sauce added a faint bite to round out the dish and the house-made tortilla chips were perfectly crunchy and topped with cotija and magical jalapeno specks. Of course, I could only finish one of these gigantic tacos (and for only $8? What a steal!), and I'm already looking forward to reheating the other one for dinner! read more
