The food was tasty and the people were friendly, but it was SO expensive for what you get. Chips and a tiny queso was $5, the steak quesadilla, which was not very big, was $18.99 (!!!), and the al pastor tacos were $7 each. The tacos were full of meat and flavor, but $7 was a questionable price.The steak quesadillas were fine, not great, and are WAY over priced for the size and amount of meat. It was over $60 for three of us to eat a very minimal sized lunch! Despite the delicious flavor of my tacos, I would not eat there again, nor would I recommend it based on their prices alone. read more

The only only problem I have is there is not a 6th or 7th star for me to give the food. The food was so amazing. I am not sure if I have ever had tacos this delicious. I ordered one steak and 2 chicken tacos. The meat was nice and juicy and had the perfect amount of seasoning. They came with grilled onions a little bit of raw onions and cilantro. I just got done eating and I can't wait to come back. I cannot answer to the service itself or the inside of the restaurant because my girlfriend got our order to go. Hidden gem. I randomly stopped here for lunch and was shocked to find out how amazing the food was! Tacos are served fresh to order straight from the kitchen. Service is excellent. I tried Steak (Asada), shrimp and Al Pastor (pork) tacos and was blown away with how much delicious flavor was in them. I highly recommend adding cheese to the tacos, gives the taco an unforgettable flavor. I'll be back soon. My new favorite spot! read more

Wow these are good tacos. The tortillas are fried to a great combo of some char but not crunchy. Really tasty. Good quality ingredients. Salsa is awesome. Simple menu - everything is a la cart. no beans/rice and no free chips and salsa. Super casual with just a handful of tables. Service was solid. Only downside is the acoustics are terrible inside. I ordered chips and queso ($5) and two steak tacos ($12). The bartender tells me a total of $24 and change. I ask how an extra $7 got tacked on -- I know tax can't be that much. She explained unapologetically that the prices have gone up, they just haven't updated the menu. I ask her to correct my bill for what I agreed to pay. After some time, she gives me my new total -- still ridiculously high for what I got -- and now they don't have 1's. Mind you, it's 7 p.m. on a Tuesday. It's a time of day they should expect business, but it's not as though they just got slammed and cleaned out of change. So she proceeds to give me my change of several dollars, again without apology, in dimes and pennies. read more

Taco Man is a restaurant now. While I would love to gate keep them so it's not super busy when we go I just can't. Everyone needs to know about Taco Man!! We first started out with a Paloma and a Margarita which were very good. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my wife ordered a Shrimp and steak taco. I have never had chicken so tender and flavorful. Oh and the size. I could only eat half of it. Both tacos were also very tender and flavorful. Some of the best food we have had in a very long time. So pleasantly surprised with this place. Off the beaten path but so worth the little detour through Berthoud. I had two pastor tacos and an asada quesadilla. So incredibly good. The Taco Man was disappointing overall. The food is significantly overpriced for what amounts to very average Mexican food. The meats lacked seasoning, and the portion sizes didn't match the high price tag. We wouldn't have minded paying more if the quality justified it, but unfortunately it didn't. When I sew the prices and heard the "special" was 2 tacos and quesadilla for 25$ i though she said it wrong or I mis heard. She did not nor did I. So I carried on despite my hesitation on what sounded like a WTF price to me. Then I inquired what a horchata would set me back my skepticism continued. I opted for carry out as I had a very rare quiete empty house free from the kids and there friends and the noise an chaos that comes with it. When I got home I was pleasantly surprised how stacked the tacos were with meat and my purchase was seeming a little more reasonable. I ordered pastore as I know what kind of time and love that specific dish takes and requires Ike 20 something ingredients so thats always my go to when on a taco menu. Let me tell you, there were NO corners cut on the making of the pastore. I mean DAMN!! they are definitely top 3 pastore tacos i have ever had not number 1 all together. I NEVER write reviews and believe this is my very first and only because it was FU&@*!G spectacular. Onions grilled perfectly and so was the pork and youbcan taste just a bit of smoke and char which for me made it next level. If you are in Berthoud and need a "street" tacos there is no other place to go. If berthoud has too much of anything it is Mexican restaurants. You cant find any Italian food with a search warrant but Mexican is on every corner and I would not miss 95% of them. But this one needs to stay. Steak was very salty. After Talking to the owner and 20 questions later they remade with chicken. Came to us in foil instead of a plate. We were at the bar having our 2nd drink. Also got charged for the first one and the remake. Followed taco man for years. The owner (or one in charge) needs to learn How to deal with constructive criticism. No good vibes here ! read more

This place is great if you like lots of grease, onions, and garlic. It is essentially a food truck that serves very expensive food inside a building. There is no mild salsa so you take what they make. I had a quesadilla that was swimming in a pool of grease with just a few bits of meat and excess cheese. This food is best after you have had a few beers and can't really taste anything. The owner seems sincere but there is a LOT of room for improvement. This is our first trip to their restaurant. We have eaten from their food truck for years and the sit down experience was excellent. We sat at the bar and we had a very attentive server. I ordered the steak tacos with cheese and a coke. The food was exactly as we had remembered. It was the first time that I could order the tacos that I love and not have to sit in the car and eat them. Friendly staff.. great food that has not changed from truck to brick and morter... This is a restaurant and a family worth supporting. They are good people and their food is unique. That's two qualities that are very hard to find these days.
