When I moved to Loveland I was on a successfully UNSUCCESSFUL mission to find Pho near me! I had found that the town did have a lot of ramen, that could substitute in pho's place! Casa Real has made an amazing Ramen that has been my go-to. The fine shredded beef with the limey spicy flavors is amazing and perfect for a cold day like today...CINCO DE MAYO!!! First time in the establishment and everyone was welcoming and made sure I was taken care of. As a solo guest sometimes you get missed. They were ready for cinco de mayo to begin! Ate here in a whim and ate at the bar. You do have to pay for your chips and salsa which is a bummer because 99% of Mexican restaurants give them for free. They were okay, not a wow factor. Then I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Again it was just okay. I dont think I would come back. Im from Houston and our Mexican food is amazing, so im quite picky. I've found my favorite Mexican food place in Loveland! For the record, the Birria Tacos are the biggest and best I've ever eaten. They are so flavorful, crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside. Trust me. Order them!! The place is clean and staffed my friendly employees. Our server was Beatriz, and she was amazing During the week they have a nice happy hour with $4 margaritas. Repeat: Four dollar margaritas. We even got Sopapillas for dessert. read more

Food is good. Drinks are great. We ordered the Pasole for dinner. It had good flavor with big chunks of pork. Was served with a little plate of cabbage, radish, onion and cilantro. The chips and salsa are very good . We ordered the peach margarita as well. It's a nice, comfortable restaurant. They offer bar seating, inside and outside tables. The service is fast and friendly. Exactly what I would want from top notch Mexican food. Everything we tried was fresh and was incredibly well seasoned. The salsa was a perfect balance of citrus and spice. I had the quesadillas with the green chili chicken. It was thick full of their chicken, cheese, and slaw that added dimension and diversity with each bite. We also tried the trio enchiladas to try different meat options and each was better than the last. The service time was fast with out food getting out in less than ten minutes from our order. The wait staff, especially our server Alyson, were all friendly and made the experience very calm and relaxed. Lastly the remodel has brought the place to life. I was feeling excited about trying this place. Some of the reviews were pretty good. I always like to try new places. We came in for dinner on a Wednesday night. It was pretty busy, but not packed. plenty of staff on hand. We were at the end of happy hour, so we got four dollar margaritas and four dollar beer. Bonus. They served fresh tasty chips with a green chili queso. The salsa was fresh tasting. Pretty good. I chose the combination, one chili Rellenos & 1 chicken enchilada with green sauce. Chili was cooked nicely when it came to the table. It was missing sauce but had a nice taste and the chili cooked well. I enjoyed the enchilada. The green chili had nice flavor. The enchilada was all dark meat. I prefer a combination or all white. The chicken had a nice flavor. My husband got a steak and cheese quesadilla. There was hardly any cheese in the stuffing at all. The meat wasn't that great. They put a bunch of sauces all over the top which we did not enjoy. This was a miss for us. Our friends got burritos. One had the California which she said was OK. Not a lot of sauce or cheese. The service was a little bit slow, but very friendly. The margaritas on happy hour were pretty weak. But for four bucks. What do you expect? We love CR but a little disappointed tonight. We ordered the Casa Trio after being told it was "a little" spicy, well it was hot spicy. Waitress never came around to refill drinks. Finally, we love sopapillas but can only eat a couple. They do not offer a small size nor will they prepare a half order. We came to celebrate my grandmas 83rd birthday. I would give it 3.5 stars if that were an option. I was not impressed by the service. Considering we were one of 4 tables sat at the time, it was awful. I had Birria tacos. They were very flavorful and the meat was very tender. My grandma had the hanging bacon shrimp that she thoroughly enjoyed, and they are beautiful! My mom had a #2 with an enchilada and a rellano that she said were very good. My dad had a signature burrito with ground beef, and it was terrible. It tasted like flat chili powder. All in all, the food was pretty good, besides the burrito. read more

I ordered take out. I used to LOVE their signature burritos. BUT tonight's order was lacking in a LOT of ways. VERY little cheese on top, in fact so little that I barely seen it and never tasted it. VERY thin layer of red chili. Not enough to last even half of the burrito which made it even more blah. Not much flavor. Was actually kind of mushy. Great service and a really good happy hour!! $4 margs until 6pm! The birria tacos were some of the best I've had, so tender but still a crispy shell. They were very filling too! Came here to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with my partner and our favorite roomate. To precede this review, the restaurant was pretty busy so that might have influenced our experience. I got the birria chimichangas and it came with a small chimichanga approximately 3-4 in long and a cup of broth. It was very little food for $17. We got the chips and salsa and homemade dips as sides adding up to $14. The chips were stale/burnt (not great). I also got soda water which ridiculously cost $3 per water as though it was a soda. I wish they had made that explicit and I would have asked them to put some soda syrup in so I could just drink what I didn't know what I was paying for! I also got a margarita with mezcal tequila which added $4 dollars to the already $7 margarita and they didn't add the mezcal to the margarita along with the blanco tequila they just substituted it. The service was understandably distracted with the high pop in the restaurant but that doesn't excuse the prices. All in all, a mid experience. read more

ISO of good Mexican Food in Colorado FAST-C review It's seems to be really hard to find any place right now that is allowing indoor seating and we were lucky to find that Casa Real was open! Food: we ordered the Tres Amigos appetizer which included guacamole, bean and a spicy cheese dip. This along with the salsa was a great appetizer while we enjoyed our Pacifico's! Everyone really enjoyed their meals, we ordered chicken fajitas, the chicken was great and loaded with a bunch of onions and peppers. The Pate of beans and rice was lacking, but came in cute little cups. I'd rather have just had some extra Pico de Gallo and guacamole! I asked for a mix of tortillas but only got flour. I was too hungry to wait for corn so just started eating. Or friends ordered tacos al pastor and a burrito al pastie. They both looked great and they said tasted great! Atmosphere: very nice place with an authentic Mexican feel to it. There is a bar but only a few people were here for a Wednesday night. Once Covid is done I could definitely see us at the bar watching a sporting event! Service: l we were seated as soon as we arrived. There were only a few tables being used so o can imagine that they would be very busy on a weekend. Everyone who helped us very nice and helpful. I can imagine having to work under the conditions they are working has to be tough. Tip: any of the dishes we order works be great choices, along with the appetizer. Not much more I can offer other than this is a great Mexican restaurant and is now currently my top choice in Colorado, but that's only after trying 2, so many more to try!!! Have been dining here for years. They recently renovated (thanks Restaurant Impossible, it's beautiful!) And now more recently updated their menu. The prices have been increased but so has the caliber of food! Restaurants have to stay updated to make a future for themselves. Give it a shot! The food was amazing! Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo was TO DIE FOR! Simple dish with sooo much flavor (if you're not in love with butter & garlic, this isn't the dish for you) I was a little skeptical but it was absolutely worth it! Combo fajitas were delicious as well. Yes. They charge for chips & salsa now. No, there's nothing wrong with paying $1.99 for something that used to be free due to costs. We ordered some beans for our Christmas dinner and they had spilled all over the bag during transport. Higher end Mexican restaurant. The best Ceviche North of the Mexican border. Variety of menu options, courteous, knowledgeable and professional staff. Very welcoming atmosphere with both I door and outdoor seating. Cocktail menu is fairly robust and their specials are always enjoyable if not unusual treats (take the blueberry mojito for example). The only negative is if you elect to sit outside, the road traffic of the adjacent arterial can be a bit loud. Most outdoor seating is however covered, so even during a hot day you can still dine outdoors if you choose. read more

The food here not great. The chili relleno is not a poblano stuffed with cheese, dipped in batter and fried as described on the menu. No, it is a poblano wrapped up in a tortilla, lightly fried and served with no sauce or anything. It is just plain gross. The cheese enchilada while not bad, it was edible but tasted like it had sat out for awhile. In fact, all our food was cold and did not taste fresh. The tacos fell apart with one bite. The kids meals; a burger and fries and chicken nuggets and fries were over cooked, dry and tasted and looked old. The margaritas are premade and sit on the bar in a dispenser not being kept cold. When you order a margarita, they add ice to a glass, pour room temperature margarita mix in a glass, plop a straw in the glass that is too big and serve it. They don't taste bad but because the margarita is not cold, it immediately melts the ice so you are always served a watered down margarita. Big fail. The salsa was actually really good but not enough to get me back in the door. I was sick all night throwing up. I do think it was the food I ate from here that made me sick. I have been a long standing Casa Real fan! I would drive from Denver and meet my NoCo family here. After hearing Casa Real was going to be on Restaurant Impossible - we were worried Chef Robert would ruin their GREAT food! I was in Loveland yesterday for work and decided to stop in. Good news! The restaurant looks great, the remodel really updated the space. Even better news - the food and service is just as good as before. Same menu items, with some spruced up new additions. We were excited to try this place again after their upgrade. Unfortunately it fell far short of even basic expectations. Service was slow and not attentive. The bowl of chips were a bowl of crumbs. I liked the salsa but the portion was very small. The outdoor patio is nice but the high volume traffic and noise make it impossible to enjoy. Food was presented well and was hot. After watching the Restaurant Impossible episode & reading reviews, decided to make the 40 min. Drive. Place looks good, still looks like the show. First Mexican restaurant that I've ever been too though, where the Chips & Salsa are not free or served when you are seated. The salsa had good taste, but mostly watery...not near enough served with the chips. Chips were warm (nice touch). I ordered the Cochinita Pork Ribs. The ribs themselves were awesome!! Fall off the bone & the citrus BBQ sauce is incredible!! Unfortunately it stops there! The Spanish rice was cold & not very flavorful. The "Mexican Street Corn" was just a 2.5" piece of buttered corn on the cob (PLAIN)! At least it was fresh. The baked potatoes were just as plain. Disappointing, since the ribs were so good.
