Oh, where to begin. Should I start with the inability to hear the person right beside me because of the noise, the barely there House salad or the waiters. Oh, I will start with the waiters who changed every 3 to 5 minutes. It was all so dizzying. They seemed to be at my table a lot servicing the Caucasians, refilling their drinks, bringing them boxes for left overs that they did not ask for, etc. Meanwhile, they never offered to refill my drink or bring me a box for my leftovers which was the only thing left to bring home as the others had aptly finished their meals. As a matter of fact, they only addressed me twice, one of those times was to take my order and I can't even remember the other time. They also constantly reached over my food without saying excuse me once. I felt so unwelcomed as the only Black person in the restaurant. Next, the salad was pitiful. It barely resembled the description of the House Salad I read about. By the time they brought it to me, I forgot what was supposed to be in it. It was mostly lettuce and I had to hunt to find anything more than that...wow enough said. It was definitely not worth almost $7. I spoke with someone who said they were the manager, Kelly, but I was doubtful that she was who she said she was because she was hesitant to come and speak with me. I observed her talking to the waiter that I had asked to send over a manager. She listened but I did not feel like she cared about what I was saying. I think she blew me off. I told her that I still left a tip of $4 although they deserved much less than than. My dad would have left them 2 cents. At any rate, I will never go back. The pizza was too spicy too and I did not order anything spicy on it. I am allergic to spicy food. I break out with welts and they burn and itch. Dewey's is a pretty regular stop with the family. They regularly have a nice selection of craft brews (on this visit was a Fretboard India Pale Lager). Very nice beer. Followed by the Greek salad. While I wish they would do some spicy peppers, the salad is great with roasted garlic cloves. Had the 1/2 Sgt. Peppers specialty pizza. Great blend of diced peppers and the spicy honey was a nice finish. The other half Bronx Bomber (multi meat, multi veg). These are both red sauce pizzas. Service was strange with apparently 2 wait staff working with us and a few bobbles with them. Overall good experience and expect to be back. read more

Your run of the mill Dewey's location. I called in a take out order ahead of time and the person who answered was polite and prompt. My order was ready when I got there as promised and brought right out even though they seemed quite busy for being late in the evening. The restaurant is a little smaller than other locations but clean and staff was nice. The seasonal Taco pizza called "Tito Santana" was awesome. I really do look forward to May all year just for this pizza. Ive tried to recreate it and cant. Also try their red cream soda! I can't really find anything I would knock Dewey's down for. If you're dining in, the service is sort-of a swarm. You have a main waiter/waitress, but anyone walking by and notices you drop a fork, or empty glass, whatever, they take care of it immediately, whether they are your server or not. That, with adequate staffing makes for a very positive experience, and it's so fluid/natural that you might not even notice it unless you were really looking for it. Now if you're ordering at the bar for take-out, know that you have the time it takes to finish about 2/3 a pint of beer. Most if not all beers on tap are local crafts. Don't worry suburbanite, they have the big beers in bottles! Now for the food. Always great. I highly recommend the House Salad. I could probably bathe in the vinaigrette, OMG. The pizza is why you walked in the place, so let's talk pie. This hand-tossed dough bakes up to a perfect "chew" while also having the firmness to support the toppings. My personal favorite is the signature pie, the Porky Fig. I've literally had dreams about this pie when it was just on their seasonal menu, alas it has graduated to the main menu, and we can all exult and be glad in it. It is a non-traditional pizza made with the "sauce" being fig jam, then caramelized onions, prosciutto, and Gorgonzola crumbles, FTW. So good! They do have red sauce, and white sauce, and traditional and gourmet toppings, and a whole host of signature pizzas. Granted, you pay for this quality. A side-salad, 11" small specialty pizza, and 1 beer was $28. So unbelievably disappointed in Dewey's Pizza right now. Ordered pizza for Mother's Day at 6pm for ASAP pick up and they told me it would be 7:30pm I'm still sitting in their parking lot at 8:15pm and my order is still not ready. This poor review is not about the quality of their food, which is excellent. This review is about poor communication and execution. It will be a long time, if ever, I come back to this Dewey's location. If they were running so behind, you should have communicated this to me and my family. We would have eaten elsewhere and still would have gladly visited your restaurant another time. Again, I'm just so disappointed. Fortunately, after an hour and a half delay on our food, I received my order, complimentary, with the manager's apology. An hour and a half delay, two pizzas and two salads later, my family was happy. read more

The individuals who answer the phones do not want to take "take out orders" so they put the person on hold until someone feels like picking up the phone. I talked to 3 people before my order was taken. I was told a 2 hour wait for an 11 inch pizza. I've worked in pizza places and know it can get busy, not trying to say they weren't busy. But 2 hours for one tiny pizza is way too long, maybe consult with chic fil a and learn how to take care of customers quickly. It's a shame because their food is actually good but their service needs improvement. First off the food is good, outside of the deflated calzone which had almost no toppings ... but, that's not my issue. We (my family) went to eat and we were able to be seated very quickly the server took our drink order and dinner order ... that's it we never saw her again. We have been to this place a few times and each time it has been really good. They have excellent salads and very solid pizza. To us the pizza is really good but not spectacular. I would like to be the first to say, Welcome to Anderson! Oh the pizza was so good! You can get just about any pizza for about $20. The service is wonderful! The wait staff is so friendly. The vegetables were crisp and the meat was cooked just right. The sauce is wonderful. There's just a hint, not too much. The pizza came out so hot and fresh. If you can't decide between the two just get the two halves combined. Everything is shiny new and clean. I think this will be bad for the waistline, it's less than a mile away. I'm not a Cincinnati native and came here without any context to pick up a few pizzas for a group of Cincinnati natives. The pizzas were a hit! We ordered cheese, pepperoni and the Dr. Dre (really unique combination of toppings that we loved). The crust was perfectly golden and everything tasted great. I was surprised they don't serve breadsticks, but it didn't deter me. We had a big group of pepperoni fans who were all very happy with the pepperoni flavor. They commented that they usually add red pepper spices to their pizza, but this one didn't need it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating while I waited on the takeout order to be prepared. There isn't a big waiting area, but you can sit at the bar or stand in the lobby. The dining area wasn't full on the night I visited, but I imagine this place gets pretty busy especially on weekend nights. read more

We absolutely love Dewey's and were so excited to have it open a location in Anderson. Due to our current schedule, we most often order takeout at this point. And herein lies the problem. We place our order and are told when it will be ready. We show up to pick it up. It is not ready. We wait for an average of 20 minutes (yes, we've done this multiple times, glutton for punishment, I know). When our order is finally ready, it is shoved at us unceremoniously with no apology for the wait or any other sort of courtesy. It's very frustrating to have this experience, especially consistently. Once we could forgive, sort of. But it happens every time. This location needs to up its game. And, yes, of course the food is great. Our go-to Dewey's is brand spanking new and is an easy to get to spot in Anderson. These pizzas are so easy to eat and they are a locally grown biz that it's so great to see them popping up all over the place. I'm a ham and pineapple girl and they have one of the best ratio-ed pizza for that around. Zach goes for the Ryan's Inferno every time which is mozzarella cheese, buffalo chicken from Miller Farms, red onion, Gorgonzola and then topped with ranch dressing and celery. Plus their pricing is super reasonable for a pizza and the staff is always so kind and super efficient. Another thing I love about Dewey's is that for their desserts they host local bakeries that come in and cook up desserts you can buy to pair with your pizza order. Dewey's isn't your average pizza place with grease covered cheese and canned mushrooms. Dewey's has some of the most amazing specialty pizzas you'll find anywhere. You want red sauce and your date wants white sauce? Fine, they'll still do it. Different cheese preferences? Yeah, they'll STILL do it. The possibilities are endless...deliciously endless. Don't forget the salad. "Salad, it's just a salad." No, it's not JUST a salad. Dewey's hits a home run with salads. Get one. Try them all. What's the worst that could happen, you're too full for pizza? Don't worry, when the pizza comes you'll find room. I'm a fan of Dewey's in general, but this is my most frequented location. Dewey's seems to have a unique ability to hire the best of the best. I say "unique" because I've found that other pizza places make the dine in experience a nightmare. While take out is available, Dewey's seems to prefer their their customers come in and get the full experience and most customers opt to do just that. It's always been a pleasant experience, and somehow after my son has thrown up three times (shoveling too much delicious pizza into his mouth too fast) and flipping his chair backwards once, they have not banned us and are always forgiving and extremely helpful. Sure, Deweys makes the best pizza, but it's all for naught if they mis quote wait times or give rude service. This franchise must have the best business model. Every employee in the front knows you and serves and helps you. It gives such an amazing team feeling. It is my favorite to see so many different people coming by, serving, and checking on me. The drinks never run dry and you are never bored here waiting for your pizza. The selection of beer is always changing, so there is always something new and different to chat about. I'm old enough to remember when going out for pizza was a special treat. You just couldn't really get it outside of a restaurant. Today, pizza seems to be available no matter where you look and it's the go-to choice for kids' birthday parties, school celebrations, work lunches, etc. That makes it hard for me to remember what a treat good pizza is and that is where Dewey's comes in. Their pizza is light and available in inspired and super flavorful combinations. Three us split a regular Caesar salad and a large pizza, half Green Lantern (red sauce, garlic, mozzarella, mushrooms, goat cheese, artichokes, pesto) and half Dr. Dre (olive oil, mozzarella, green pepper, red onions, chicken bacon and jalapenos, with diced tomato and ranch dressing added after baking). The salad was generously sized with large croutons and lots of shaved parmesan and each type of pizza was downright delicious. There's a good selection of draft beers and the service is always very attentive. Dewey's is worth a visit. read more

We've eaten at the fairly new Dewey's in Anderson several times now and the results are always consistently good with food quality and service. However, the treatment that we received this past Saturday warrants an updated review, because my mind was frankly blown (and in a good way). Perhaps because I have been severely disheartened by my two past experiences at what was my great Cincy pizza love, Pi, but Dewey's just nailed it with service for us. My spouse and I went in on Saturday evening (7-ish) and we lucked out and were able to get seated immediately. We ordered two Bacon Peppercorn Ranch side salads (always a good choice) and he had two craft beers. We were chatting away waiting for our 13" pie (1/2 Dr. Dre, 1/2 Don Corleone - oh yeeeaaaah) and while some time had lapsed we weren't sweating it yet. We were approached by (what I assume to be) the manager, a young lady who apologized for "interrupting", explained that our first pizza had been over-cooked so a fresh one was already being made (ready in about 7 more minutes), and that management had already taken care of the pizza and removed it from our bill. WOW. I have NEVER been to a restaurant where management sought ME out first for a mistake, didn't have me sitting there waiting for a protracted time and put the onus on me to have to do the whole "I need to speak to your manager" bit. Anderson's Dewey's VOLUNTARILY explained their mishap and removed an item without having to be complained to. That is EXCELLENT service! I greatly appreciated this location's preemptive actions and professional courtesy! And we had multiple servers checking in on us, making sure our pizza was satisfactory once it came out, refilling our drinks and bringing us our (reduced) bill quickly. Seriously, I almost felt like we were being pranked, the service was so solicitous. Oh and yeah, the food was bomb.com. Our pie was hot and crispy and luscious and the two of us devoured the whole thing on-site (no need for to-go boxes here). read more

I really like Deweys but this location is incredibly chaotic. That is a good thing I guess because the pizza and salads are wonderful, and always top quality. But the wait for a table or carryout is painful. Like many of the Deweys the layout of the restaurant is odd so that the entry way is narrow and crammed with people waiting for tables or food. Cooler is right by the checkout so you are constantly being moved around in a small space while wait staff retrieves beverages. Overall Dewey's is a treat but lately the wait and hassle are not worth the price. read more

Every bit as good as the original, with great service and all the same amazing pizzas, salads, and house-made dressings, available. The only real downside is that they built this store way too small so they're almost always "on wait" - great for their image and $/sqft ratio, really bad if you're looking for a walk in or expecting a super fast delivery time. They're just as expensive as the other Deweys, so you know what you're getting there - but you get your money's worth at this establishment. Really happy to see more real food (ie non frozen reheated chain crap) coming out to the Anderson area, and especially happy when it's done well! read more

I had tried Dewey's in Newport about a year ago and wasn't impressed, so when they opened up one close by I decided to give it another try. Ordered just a basic pepperoni pizza because I feel that is a good gauge of what to expect before I go all funky. The pizza came out and looked good, took me a slice and it was a bit limp for my liking, but took a bite. Couldn't put my finger on it at first but it conjured up memories........ What was it? Then it hit me, that's it! I closed my eyes took another bite, it's a fricking Chef Boyardee pizza! The pizza sauce, the pepperoni, almost identical. I will give them a pass on the crust but barely.
