To start this place is much more cleaned up compared to what I've seen in the past, which was a nice improvement. I also noticed more staff working compared to what I've seen before which may have helped with not only that but the speed too. Me and my friend bought two personal pizzas to go and the process was very smooth and we were able to get them fast. The price wasn't bad at all for personal pizzas, and the taste was just as good and consistent as I remembered. I will say if you dine in I would avoid typical lunch and dinner times as it can get noisy quickly since its a smaller space. The food is delicious but I do wish they had charged me for a 2 topping instead of a build your own since I only got a two topping pizza. The blood orange lemonade is delicious too. I will never order from this location again. I mistakenly placed a delivery order for what was supposed to be a pickup and immediately called the store to let them know I would be picking up instead. I was told that the order could not be changed and that it would need to be handled through Door Dash. After the Door Dash driver confirmed that he cancelled the pickup and that I could pickup instead I found the order had already been picked up when I got to the store. When I arrived back home the order was delivered with my drink incorrect and there were no safety seals on any of the pizzas, salads or drink. I will not be patronizing this store anymore! read more

Food was cooked well, the service line was a little rude as far as the lady building my pizza she never made eye contact, mumbled and had an unhappy expression on her face the entire time. The orange hat that welcomed us was very nice and did a good job and then after he went to continue other duties everything went downhill. The restaurant was fairly clean could use a sweep but nothing that made the place feel gross. With it being slow the cook was also the expo and delivered it to our table once both pizzas were at our table I noticed I didn't get any ranch and asked for some and the expo/cook stated he could drizzle it on top for free or I could pay ¢.49 for a 2oz cup. I tried their late Pi Day offer, which wasn't as lucrative as the Pi Day one (they give a 11" pizza for $3.14), but I'll take whatever allows me to have pizza again. I went in for a custom pizza and tried their vegan chorizo with a bunch of toppings I like. Disclaimer: I love thin crust pizzas. I know some folks want the bready crust. If yes, don't order the thin one. Don't order a thin crust and then hate it. The service was quick and the folks working were very patient and weren't stingy with toppings. I liked my pizza. Why the 4 star? One, the spicy red sauce wasn't spicy. Maybe it's spicy, but I couldn't taste any spice from any bite. Two, the vegan chorizo needs work. It was crumbly and tasted pretty bland. When I'm out traveling I've found that the best practice is to try something new for a meal and then have a meal from somewhere that I know is consistently good on the way home. Normally blaze is one of those consistent places that's always clean, friendly and serves up good food. This particular location has left me conflicted and questioning that. The entire store was filthy from the get go, floors dirty with trash in them, garbage can had been compacted so much the trash bag was stuffed inside the can, kitchen and topping bar area in total disarray with toppings mixed into other toppings, etc. I will say they were relatively busy but I've been to other blaze stores that were far busier and not seen the messes that I seen at this location. Once we got to order we both ordered the take 2 with salad and byo pizza. The employee that started our order was nice and knew what was going on. However we got handed off to an employee that seemed like she was having a bad day, didn't care for being there or something. She was totally stand offish, sliced a dough in half for our pizzas and pushed us through the line in a very cold manner. Totally ignored that we had salads until I asked, then she fixed 1 salad and we had to ask her to make our second one. Maybe she was having a bad day but it felt like she was taking it out on us. The checkout and order pick up was equally as chaotic though for different reasons. The employee running the register was doing her best to keep up but it seemed like she had far more duties assigned to her than she should've had. She was hustling and trying to keep up with everything the best she could but it seems like alot for an employee to run a cash register, get sauces, cut and box pizzas and try and call our names and locate who pizzas belong to. Other locations use runners and numbered flags for the last part and I think this location could benefit from that. Kudos to her for not getting frustrated and walking away from that mess. With all that griping out of the way I will say that the food was that consistent blaze offering that we appreciate. If you've ever ate blaze then you know what to expect and that's exactly what we were looking for. As oddly as the employee treated us that prepared the pizza and salad was made up for the fact the food was as tasty as it should be. It seems like this place lacks proper management or maybe a supervisor was on lunch or something this day. The store was staffed with college aged individuals who were trying their best to get through the lunch rush. They could def benefit from having some guidance from an experienced supervisor for sure. By the end of our meal the first employee we had made contact with was actually out cleaning floors and tables and trying to clean up. Once she seen the mess the garbage can was in she actually showed the initiative to start asking people to clean and found a couple of young men to deal with the trash situation. This particular Blaze has come under new ownership recently and is vastly improved by every metric...definitely give it another shot if you've had a bad experience in the past. I highly recommend this as THE place for a quick, delicious lunch on the Mason-Montgomery corridor or an upgrade from fast food drive-thru dinner for a busy family. They offer diverse (fresh!) ingredients, along with a number of additional food options in addition to pizza (including cheesy bread, salad, dessert). There is something for everyone in the family. Vegan? They'll make it. Meat eater? Every option. Simple for the kids? Just ask. In a stoke of genius, this Blaze offers a "Take Two" option that is reasonable, especially in light of the large portion sizes (leaving enough to take home for a second meal if so inclined). They just started offering thick crust and the Blaze Rewards app is intuitively easy to use and rack up discount coupons/free menu items (I love it). The atmosphere is clean, orderly, music low key, easy to navigate. The staff is squared away and doesn't consist of a batch of listless 20somethings on their 20th fast food job they don't care about. (It will be obvious when you walk in that this Blaze is primarily run and staffed by responsible adults.) We are always greeted and welcomed by the manager (Caleb) and the employees (such as Jazz) are very attentive to follow-up after we order. For a quick service build your own pizza place it doesn't get any better. I cannot say names but compared to their closest competitors they are just on the next level. Is their product comparable to a gourmet pizzeria? No. but it isn't too far away. I review restaurants considering their concept, price, speed, etc. Some standout qualities I appreciate are the very clean ingredients, I didn't see chemicals in their crust ingredient list for example. I like the fresh mozzarella option and fresh basil leaves they stock. I don't see competitors offering those high quality options. The kids that work there are friendly. What would I change?
