If you are on the fence about cake scoot yourself over to devour desserts. I'm not even a cake person but this cake was AMAZING. I can not wait until the next family birthday to go get another. We stopped in on Sunday around 1 and the store had cakes to buy but you can also order ahead. The cake flavors all sound amazing. They have flavors like cannoli, devil dog, driving me banana, tropical shortcake and so on. The flavors of the strawberry shortcake were on point. The whipped cream layer was light and fluffy, the strawberry whipped cream was sweet and light and the pound cake was moist and dense but in THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY. Absolutely delicious treats! Stopped by yesterday just to check out what the small store front had to offer. We entered the bakery to a case of a large assortment of truffles and bars. A sight sure to have your mouth watering. Pre-wrapped cookies sat on a table and (cup)cakes packed away in fridges for pickup or purchase. Overwhelmed by the options, my boyfriend insisted we take advantage of the mix-and-match pack for $30, which gets you 6 truffles and 6 bars. We insisted the girl behind the counter help us with some of our decisions. We walked away with a fabulous variety from a lemon cheesecake bar to a peanut butter chocolate truffle. The shop also has an in-house cake decorator if you're looking to get a custom cake. The shop also offers pre-made cake options for any occasion starting at $20. I took a look in the fridge and boy did they look scrumptious! Not going to lie, I didn't make it out of the parking lot without trying a truffle. As tasty as they appear. YUMMY! Devour is the best bakery in the area! We've used them for our small wedding, my bridal shower, and just other cakes for special occasions. It's a yearly tradition for my husband now to get me their yummy chocolate strawberries for Valentines Day. I swear I am NOT a cake person but there's something about Devour that's just like above all other cakes. If you're doing keto they also have a bunch of good cheesecakes and other desserts you can just grab and go. When my husband and I were doing keto we definitely went here and picked up some treats. The owner seems very friendly as well as the staff at the Mantua location. I grew up in Mantua, and I have to say that if this bakery was in business back then I would have been much fatter than I already was as a kid. We ordered the Almond Crunch Tower cake for my mom's birthday and my god it was one of the best cake's we have ever had. I can't stress how amazing the almond flavor was. I have a few stellar bakeries where we live that we often bring desserts from when we visit home, no more. Devour is the first stop on our list. This cake was something special. Ok let's start with the store itself. It's a speciality dessert boutique. There's like 3 or 4 parking spaces and it's an old dilapidated shopping center. The rest of the parking lot is for the much busier pizza place. Seeing how it's a very small space...you might think the rent is cheap and you could get decent deals. Nope. It's good dessert yes. The presentation is nice and it looks attractive to the people you serve to however the prices are silly. This owner is taking you for a ride all the way to her bank! I mean I'm sure she's not doing this for fun and she needs to make money but a slice of pb cheesecake is $12 plus tax. I'm giving 3 stars because it does taste fine. Make no mistake it's not earth shattering good, but yes it's better than shop rite. It's not even Cheesecake Factory quality. It tastes like she goes to Walmart or Sam's buys all the ingredients mixes together and expects magic when it's still Walmart at heart. It's worth maybe $9. $10 tops and generously (hey, inflation!). I can get a designer cheesecake at a different local boutique for $50 or less and it easily serves 8 people, so less that $7 per slice. $12 is just greed, they aren't giving super sized slices. Then i buy multiple things- all with ridiculous inflated price tags and they don't even give you a bag! I spent over $50 and ok plastic bags are banned but paper bags aren't. They can't even spare a bag for a $50 purchase? The door to this store is like triple the average resistance.... it even says pull HARD (like i said it's an old dilapidated shopping center) but the cashier offers no help and no bag. There was no line. I was the only customer! Honestly I would have walked out with nothing at this price but I was headed to a party. I said I'd bring desserts. I wasn't sure if I'd pass anything else since my destination was 2.5 miles away. The high reviews are because she has a cult following of friends and family, and she's very good with marketing and networking. Good job with that. On Facebook you would think this place is 1 in a million but truth is it's not. It's overpriced and average. Do yourself a solid try other places like yhanne's, 2 sweet boutique, summit, sweet eats all tasty and cheaper. I will in the future but like I said this place was on my route and I fell for the other reviews. ALSO of note the description says comfortable indoor seating. And eat in or take out. So, as a dessert enthusiast who often plays around with dessert making at home, my experience was underwhelming. Originally quite excited to find another dessert place in the area, I walked into Devour greeted by hot pink walls, cute decor, and an interesting concept. A shop focusing on bite sized desserts for things typically found on a party dessert platter at, say, an office party or catered holiday get-together. Mix and match whatever you'd like into your own personal box of treats. I got 5 things: 1) Caramel apple cheesecake bar: it's tasty, but I felt it was something I could make at home...or already have made at home. I have to complain however, I think she used the same cheesecake filling for her strawberries for this bar. It wasn't a baked cheesecake bar like I had hoped, but had the gooey no-bake texture under apple caramel crumble. Again, not bad, but I just wasn't personally impressed. 2) Brownie batter truffle: It tasted like the name suggests, but I couldn't finish it. Too flat and chocolatey for me. 3) Cheesecake stuffed dipped strawberry: the yelpers' pick. Again, while tasty, underwhelmed. I think there's more that could be done with the filling (maybe whip/pipe it in or add some mascarpone for depth). 4) a cheesecake topped truffle? (I don't remember the name): this was potentially good, but I could tell it was a little old. The (baked!) piece of cheesecake on top was becoming gummy. 5)**Dark chocolate macadamia nutella truffle: The STANDOUT. This was very good. The owner says these are her favorite and I see why. Creamy nutella and toasted macadamia inside a hard dark chocolate shell was texturally pleasing and yummy. I wish I just bought more of these. While I may not return, Devour probably has a place in the market. I can see the simple locals who enjoy entertaining picking up trays from here, especially if they don't have the time to make simple desserts like this. The owner is also friendly, even threw in an extra strawberry in my box for free for my first visit. They'll impress the average consumer, but if you consider yourself a dessert connoisseur like myself, I wouldn't exactly rush over. read more

Stick with what they do best, small bite desserts. I ordered two cakes for my grandsons fifth birthday, and they were truly awful. The chocolate cake with white frosting was supposed to be two layers, but when I picked them up it was single, and the lady actually told me that's what I ordered until she lookd at the attached order form which clearly said two layers. She made an excuse about having to make a lot of teacher's gifts, not my problem. Also the check Colgate cake looked like it had been decorated by a teenager, or an at home baker, very disappointing. The cheese cake was as ordered. The lady didn't charge me for the chocolate cake and gave me a small box of their bites free of charge. Now on to the taste. The buttercream frosting is American buttercream, heavy, dense, overly sweet and HEAVY on the butter. I know american buttercream is the most stable but this was inedible. No one out of our group of 15 took more than one bite, the rest went down the garbage disposal, and the remaining cakes went into the trash. Again if you go here stick to their small bite desserts, they are good. The cakes? Stay away. read more

The place is cute and cozy, and BYOB, the hostess is friendly and personable, but that's not what you're after, is it? It's the sweets! And they were all delicious and fresh. I had to meet a friend to discuss a business that we're thinking about starting. We decided to meet here or at Dunkin Donuts. THANK GOD we chose here! This is my new favorite spot. We ordered coffee and was told to pick from an array of mugs on the wall. We picked our mugs and gave it to the person behind the counter who rinsed them out, filled them with coffee and delivered them to our table with milk and cream. We had the chocolate tasting which was great because everything looked so good, I couldn't chose myself. We sat at the table and one by one different treats were brought out to us with a brief description of what it was. Everything was good and it was really hard to pick a favorite. The service was also really good. I wish I knew the name of the person who served us because she was amazing and extremely friendly. I ordered a chocolate cake and received a chocolate whipped cream cake. When I questioned them about what I ordered, they told me that that was the cake. Um no, the cake I ordered was chocolate cake with chocolate icing. I ordered writing on the cake and it wasn't done. When I asked them, they said they didn't receive the request. Their stuff is okay but not very professionally done. The owner herself told me she does not temper her chocolate to be solid and glossy at room temp (what all professional chocolatiers do), so everything needs to be refrigerated and melt in your hands when you eat them. Quality and flavor are hit or miss. Baked goods not particularly tasty. My husband likes it okay. I prefer to head over to Chloe's Cream Puffs in Pitman if I want a treat. read more
