The bourbon is overpowered by club soda and tons of melted ice. They muddle in a big slice of orange too, and the rind adds additional bitterness. Yuck. Yes, I'm a bit of a bourbon (and old fashioned) snob. Absolutely fantastic. This restaurant has it all, class, ambiance and hospitality. The food is to die for, everything that we ate was delicious. The biscuits are savory and you can ask for more. We had the lobster roll appetizer at it was the best I've had. The crab cakes are filled with lump crab meat and come with 2 types of sauces with I couldn't decided which one I liked better. The steak just melted in your mouth, didn't really need a knife to cut it. Wedge salad and mushroom also very tasty. Angie our waitress was a delight, very friendly and accommodating! The food itself was overcooked, including the steak and scallops. Also, no seasoning we had to douse it with Tabasco. The chocolate martini is creative but make sure you have a sweet tooth. Love the starter bread we were served that was so delicious we had to ask for another refill. Inside decor is very modern considering it is located in the historic Hershey printing press. Devon is an upscale yet dressy casual restaurant near Hershey Park. If you're looking for seafood and a wine list, this is the place. They do steaks and martinis pretty well too! Reservations recommended, "in" season and now during COVID restrictions; Open table and Yelp makes those easy. Tables are spread a little farther and no bar seating, but it definitely was busy on a Friday evening. I find the food quality fine, but slightly pricey with drink prices high but on par with other tourist attraction restaurants in town. Happy hour used to be the way to go, I do miss it. Order the signature martini if you need a chocolate fix - this one is only done here and at the area Hershey Hotel restaurants- My BFF seeks it out when in town. This is my second time at Devon for brunch. The first time we came, the hostess had snot dripping from her nose and just as I was about to suggest a tissue she wipes it on the back of her sleeve. Yes... right in front of us! Best steak I ever had (albeit foreshadowed by the snot incident) and beautiful presentation.... then. Not sure what happened today. There's one waitress manning an entire room by herself. With that said, we did not get much attention. 20 minute wait for initial beverage, biscuits didn't come until the end of our meal and then only after repeatedly asking. Our orders were mixed up. We waited 15 mins after receiving our meals before we were able to flag someone down for steak sauce. I was supposed to get a flat iron steak but It was super dry, hard to cut, and impossible to chew... very disappointing. Nevertheless the potatoes are to die for!! Especially if you like spicy food like me. Not so great for my friend who ordered without Old Bay seasoning and cannot tolerate spicy food. SURPRISE!!! It was fun eating off her plate though... tee hee. Very friendly staff and manager. They even offered to make a new steak and omelette. Party of 3 and our first time at Devon's, although we are all locals (Camp Hill). What I liked was the vibe and the Hershey Martini, yes please! The biscuits/rolls were fantastic. Crab chowder, awesome. Crab cakes, amazing. I think I can speak for everyone in our group that all of the food was very, very good and/or excellent. On the down side, I ordered the salmon and was disappointed that, since the server said the seafood is delivered every day or every other day (can't remember which) that she didn't request my temperature preference (it didn't occur to me until I got the salmon and cut into it). It tasted good but it was over-cooked to me. I also thought that the brussels sprouts definitely needed to be crispier. Once our food was delivered (which we thought took an unusually long time, although the server knew we were going to a show after because she specifically asked us) we never saw our server again until we were finished. We didn't get that "How is everything?" visit from the server that most of us have come to expect. If we had seen her, I would have returned the salmon for a temperature more to my liking (but I'll know better next time). While the server was super friendly, very informative about the menu and great with recommendations, she seemed super rushed, which is always unpleasant when you're trying to enjoy a nice dinner out. Since it was the weekend after Valentines Day, they were booked solid, but we were able to find seating at the bar which worked out perfectly! Our bartender (young lady) was so very attentive. We've been to this establishment many times before Covid, but this was our first visit after. Things have changed. Ambiance is very nice and the service was top notch. Unfortunately, while the prices have gone up a bit, the quality of the food has gone down noticeably and the portion sizes also took a hit. Dont get me wrong, the food is still good but not for the prices. This used to be "THE" place where I would take my wife for a romantic dinner with excellent fare and service. We were there last night as a party of 4. Our waitress was nice but seemed somewhat new and inexperienced. Meal orders were taken promptly. When our meals arrived the waitress apologized for the slight mixup although we didn't know what that meant at the time. Everything on my Seafood Mixed Grille platter was cold. One of the other members of our party said her crab cakes were also cold. My wife's Cioppino was hot although she said her plate was heated. The 4th party in our group said his food was warm but not hot. My wife later said they thought our food was going to another table and she saw it sitting out for a few minutes before we got it. Prices at Devon have gone up but in our last two visits the quality of food service had gone done and no longer justifies the price. read more

We started out with their delicious Crab rolls ; you cant just eat one :) Our server was marvelous ; she served to our every need and of course we had drinks first and we got their delicious breaded cauliflower; wow! We all got Seafood and my Grandson got ribs! The food was excellent -- the Chef is a gourmet creator of fine food . I am ready to go again !!!! The meal was nonetheless good - but I could not give this restaurant five stars until they update their interior. And, at these prices, I expect a white tablecloth. I frequently visit Hershey and usually visit Devon Seafood and Steak. Unfortunately, on my last trip to Hershey, I didn't stop off for dinner so I was excited to visit tonight. I drove in and parked in their underground parking lot, which is nice. It is usually pretty easy to find a spot as it only serves The Hershey Story, Houlihan's and Devon. When I came in today, I had a reservation so I was immediately seated, but in the back room, which seemed odd. I had a reservation and was dressed appropriately so I was surprised I was seated there. However, upon asking, I was moved to the main dining room and the hostess did a great job of accommodating me. I was seated in a nice booth that also gave me a nice view of the college football game on TV, which was an added benefit. While I thought the situation was getting better, it got a bit worse after a busboy came over and dropped off two glasses of water without saying a single word. I don't get that. He can't just say "Welcome to Devon" or "Your server will be right with you." Eventually, our waitress came and she was great! She gave great recommendations and perfectly described the menu. When I finally decided to order, I got their heirloom tomato salad. While it did take a little while to come out, it was definitely worth the wait. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, the mozzarella creamy and flavorful and the dressing was light, but superb. Best of all, it was topped off with a small scoop of their basil ice cream. Finally, I got the charred ahi tuna, which the waitress raised about. It came out nice and fresh with the sides perfectly charred. The tuna itself was pretty solid. Finally, I got their three layer velvet cake as well as their fresh berries. While the berries were fresh and superb, I was just not a fan at all of the cake. Their was too much icing and not enough cake, resulting in a bad balance. Even worse, I didn't even like the actual cake itself as it was just not moist. If they could improve the moistness of their cake than the icing wouldn't really be too bad. My experience today at Devon was more of a 3 star experience, but I've had better experiences in the past that I'm giving it a four. I've been to the Philly location and this location 8 years ago, and had a great experience. Not sure why this past weekend was just terrible! Came with a girlfriend for a mommy's night out, I'm 7 months pregnant. She ordered a jalapeño margarita and it came out with hardly any jalapeños, not to make a big fuss, she used a jalapeno from our calamari app and muddled it in her drink. For her 2nd one she asked for a little more jalapeños, but the drink came out as orange! They added cayenne pepper to it and no jalapeños. She burnt her lips and had to send it back and request what she asked for, jalapeño margarita. My friend ordered the fish, Oscar style with none of the sauce (basically just the lump crab. The crab came out on top of my steak. And it was the smallest, almost a joke of a portion, I've ever seen. I ordered the filet well done. Server insisted I get it butterflied (which I never do). It came out ROCK hard. Could hardly eat it, but was not going to send it back and have to wait all that time. We wanted to order dessert but did not after the experience, since the night was not going so well. The complimentary biscuits that came out were hard and overdone as well. Could not eat them! This was my first time eating here. My wife and I chose this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and the ambience in the photos as it was our anniversary the night we chose to make reservations. We are from out of town. The wife and I ordered the cauliflower app, salad to share, 1) filet with scallops, mushrooms, and risotto, 2) ribeye with truffle oil mushrooms on top, risotto, and green beans. Pros: -Originally only 9pm only was open for Saturday reservations, but I was able to call a few hours in advance and they moved it to 8pm -Wide selection of steak, seafood, and apps on their menu - romantic, chill, classy ambience food: califlower app, scallops, risotto were very good Cons: - main food took 40 minutes to come out - both steaks were barely seasoned with salt let alone any other seasoning - bland; the waitress brought out two different homemade steak sauces to remedy but they were not good - mushrooms with truffle oil had no flavor, not even saltiness to them -salad barely had any dressing on it when served and was lacking in cheese and additions other than lettuce Regarding the steaks, the manager offered to have something else cooked in lieu of the steaks, free dessert, or monetary reduction from bill; he also brought out extra cooked mushrooms. We chose the reduction and manager took quite a bit off the bill! We were very appreciative of that. Plus the waitress felt bad for our experience and brought us out free dessert anyways which were decent. Overall, I havent tried enough dishes from this restaurant to recommend or not recommend their main courses except that I do not recommend their steak. Their chefs do not seem up to par on how to simple season a steak. I probably would not try this place again for the price. Perhaps the size of the restaurant and the touristy area force them to cut corners or their chefs are overwhelmed. I can only speculate. Their staff were very kind. Our Server didn't explain any of the recommendations as usual. I ordered the Cioppino which was very good. However, my wife ordered the Mixed grill which was so salty you could barely eat it. The potatoes after one bite she could not eat and the grilled shrimp and scallops were so season and overcooked she could not eat them. My family and I have been dining here for years and it never disappoints. The staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The calamari is a great appetizer to share. It comes with jalapeños and carrots and the sauces are a perfect pair. I had the blackened halibut which is always a treat. The asparagus risotto melts in your mouth. I also had the broccolini which was delicious. My dad tried the truffle mushrooms as a side and they were to die for. I highly recommend as a side if you are a mushroom fan. Last but certainly not least was the Alaskan halibut...if you want to enjoy the Freshest Flakiest Tastiest white fish you'll ever have this should DEFINITELY be your choice it is truly INCREDIBLE! Sides of sautéed spinach green beans well done roasted Yukons potatoes complemented our entrees! All this was masterfully prepared by Chef Adam...thank you Adam...our sincere compliments to you!
