To start we were not able to eat here. We did try, they told us there was a wait. No problem with us at all since we did not have a reservation. From the time we walked in we felt judged for not being dressed up, there was no dress code, we checked prior to going. After waiting 25 mins our table was ready, they walked us past many empty tables inside to the back empty patio. We told them we would rather still wait to get a table inside so we went back up front. The gentleman told the female hostess we would like to have an inside table, she then told us that we could sit up at the actual bar. We said we did not want to sit there with our child. She then told us that they wouldn't have a table for us that was inside, we could only sit outside or at the bar. We asked why because this is something they should have told us when we came in. She said it's because our reservations which I understand those come first but we asked why we had to wait 25 mins to go sit outside in an empty area when that could have been an option when we walked in. She got snotty with us and just said it's because reservations. No real reason. We were very excited to eat here because we are a big seafood family and guess they just decided we didn't have the money to eat there. Too bad for them because we had planned out a pretty nice dinner for us there. They should understand you can't always judge a book by its cover and they should teach their employees how to properly speak with potential customers. Their loss. read more

As soon as we entered the restaurant we were promptly greeted and seated immediately. The decor was very modern and had a classic feel. Our waitress, Jamie, was very kind, attentive, and informative of the many foods on the menu. Our appetizer, the shared sampler, was delicious. All the foods included were very good. Back at Devon again to renew our first date there several years ago. Sat at the bar as is customary for us. Food and drink is pricey but we know that. Bar staff has much to learn, such as offering fresh ground pepper with a salad, asking how our dinners were after they had been served and filling water glasses when they are very empty and apparent. The tip equaled the lack of service and engagement with their customers. We won't be back for a while. Disappointing to say the least. read more

Beautiful restaurant, great ambience. I had a surf and turf combo with a filet and shrimp. It was perfect. The biscuits, served with butter and honey, were delicious. The Moscow mule was one of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend didn't 'love' the mushroom combo side dish but still he ate at least half of it. We had to skip dessert because we were so full. The location, across the street from the theater, was also ideal. Will return when back in the area. read more

I've been here twice and had NO IDEA they allowed animals to eat and drink with the plates and cups. This is TOTALLY UNSANITARY and puts immunocompromised folks at risk!!! What's worse is the rude, racist attitude of the serving staff. They are quicker to defend a white man who was not even a paying customer and doing something bad than they were a black patron.. Will not be eating here again. The food is too underseasoned anyway. read more

Management needs to know Jamie and her team handled everything top notch. Prices are higher but along with that comes the high quality food and fine service. The reserved table had been chosen with not only the size of our party considered, but also to accommodate two wheelchairs. Our server warmly greeted us and so our celebratory evening began. While my dad had a cocktail, I ordered a bottle of wine for the table. I have no problem (well, a little problem) with the markup of wine in a restaurant. The wine at the Tavern was exceptionally marked up. I ordered a 2014 Tempranillo. I do like a good Tempranillo. I was also intrigued by its $59 price. I thought I had found a hidden gem on the menu...I thought wrong. The bottle was presented to my husband who was across the table from me - it should have been presented to me since I ordered it. He was also not given a sommelier's taste, the wine was just poured for each of us. I'm not an absolute stickler about etiquette, but for such a high-end restaurant, this was out of place. I'm sure you are thinking that I just need to chill, and I'd normally agree with you, but we were not given the wine that I had ordered. Had it been properly poured, I would have noticed. It was nothing close to what I had ordered. It was the wrong varietal, wrong brand, wrong vintage, wrong country of origin. The only thing that was right was that it was a red. I knew that it didn't taste like what I had expected, but, without seeing the bottle, why would I ever expect to be served the completely wrong bottle of wine? Even Olive Garden gets it right. This should never have happened at the Tavern. I don't know what I expected from the server when I brought it to her attention. I didn't expect to be brushed off. The whole thing was just completely unacceptable. At least it had a similar price. As for the food, it was ok - nobody had anything that was really "wow". My husband and I shared the flambéed Greek cheese. It was blah and even the presentation was just meh. My dad's steak was tough as was my veal. My husband said his swordfish was cooked perfectly but had no flavor, even with its topping of shrimp. There was absolutely no effort given to the plating of any of the food. There was not enough bread served for everyone at the table and no effort was made to replenish it. The butter was a handful of individual packets strewn on the bread plate. Again, plating. The serving sizes were large - we all had lunch the next day. I didn't bring in the cake that I bought. We all decided that paying a plating charge that was over half of the cost of the cake was ridiculous. We ate it at home. My dad's special dinner was $600 for the 6 of us. If things had been on point, I wouldn't have batted my eyes (too much), but dinner was far from on point. My dad was happy that he got to spend time with his family and I'm blessed that I was able to share this day with him. But, I'm also disappointed that the Tavern on the Hill did not deliver. At all. I won't be back.

We all enjoyed our food and server. We worried at first, because the sign inside the door said…read more"lunch with reservations." We'd just looked them up on the internet, and there was no mention of a need for reservations. But our server greeted us with a smile and sat us at a table far enough away from another group, the noise level wasn't so bad. Our meals were delicious at a fair price. Everything was clean, even the bathrooms. There was a nice, unhurried atmosphere, and we appreciated the time to visit with our family over the table.

Progress Grill was a disappointment…read more Service: the service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive to our table, a consistent level of professionalism, and the best part of our experience. Food: I got the rack of lamb and my wife selected the prime rib. Both dishes had the perfect temperature with absolutely no flavor. It was almost as if they took the meat, placed it in the oven, reached the target temperature, placed it on a plate and served it. No "enhancements" whatsoever. I was very surprised given that this is a three-dollar signed "$$$" restaurant, and it has so many good reviews. Ambiance: the restaurant feels like a traditional white tablecloth restaurant and nothing stood out. Overall, I would recommend this place. My mother-in-law absolutely wanted to celebrate my father-in-law's 80th birthday. It made me wonder "how it used to be" to build such a loyal customer base. Maybe it's the waitress and hosting staff because it definitely isn't the chef.
