This is one of those places that you should actually do a personal field trip to. It will change your life. Believe it. Highly, highly recommended! UPDATE: I went back in for more hand soap concentrate and some retinol serum. By the way, soap and lotion brand name is "Further". Alyssa assisted me and she is an absolute DOLL. I kept getting texts saying my medication was ready, but everytime I called to double check, it was not. When I showed up she got me my medication within less than 30 minutes and was on top of it. (And she kept telling me to sit down and asking if I was ok) I'm extremely understanding that these places are overwhelmed. I've dealt with a really rude male pharmacist here, but Tracy has literally been a lifesaver Recently, I had called ahead of time to see what I needed for an early release (2 days early for a medication that is highly controlled due to me not being able to pick it up on the scheduled day) she told me exactly what to request from my doctor. (Which, I got ahold of my doctors office and told them) My doctor put in for my medication, but unfortunately, they did not put what Tracy needed them to put. It was night time and my doctors office was already closed. Tracy told me not to worry at all and that she would call them in the morning and get it taken care of for me. I honestly did not think much of it. I was fully prepared to call my doctors office / having to deal with it all on my own. Yet, I got a text saying my medication was ready in the morning. Tracy even called me personally (not just the automated generic voice message system they leave saying to come get your medication) Tracy called and told me that she had been calling my doctors office as soon as they opened and she had everything taken care of for me. It honestly made me cry. While dealing with so much such as a surgery and trying to get everything taken care of, it meant so much to me that she took care of everything for me and did not make a fuss about it. She literally went above and beyond and I'm extremely thankful that she not only does her job, but is extremely sympathetic and helpful. So far I've purchased reusable makeup remover pads, a reusable sponge, reusable produce bags, body soap with a pouch, body oil, deodorant, toner, makeup remover, face wash, a candle, sunscreen, and shampoo and conditioner bars. The best part? I get to refill the containers instead of throwing them away. How amazing is that? Christy and Catherine are so friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Christy, the owner, is amazing and I could talk about sustainability with her for hours. I've been searching for a company like this and I can't wait to go back and stock up on even more products.

Just left Mimi's at La Deux. This my second time: that alone says something, meaning the first one was worth a second visit. This visit solidifies my choice for hair stylist: Mimi! I can now say that I have a personal hair stylist and there is no reason for me to go anywhere else. Prices are very reasonable. Centrally located near Broadway/Redondo. Very positive conversation and I left feeling refreshed and energized. Mimi used 2 types of shears and 4 different clippers when trimming my head and neck. The cutting process took a relaxing 20-25 minutes and then a 10-15 minute wash/condition and scalp massage. If you have a style in mind she can do it; I don't really know what is best and give Mimi full control based on my hair type and head shape and have been so pleased both times. Newly remodeled place, Deux has warm calming colors and music; the kind of experience you hope never ends. Added bonus: the haircut is very thorough and I only need to visit every 4-5 weeks, though may stop in for scalp massage in the interim if that is a service she provides. Highly recommend. read more

I have what most stylists call "difficult hair." Probably 1 out of 5 people I try end up doing a decent job, and it usually takes 3 or 4 visits to get it dialed in. Mimi nailed it on my second visit. She's a total perfectionist! She'll give you advice about styles but also listens to what you tell her. Most stylists either do it their way without any consideration or just look at you and say "tell me exactly what you want." Also a good bargain, easy to schedule. Highly recommended. read more

I go to this saloon for over 2 years. I'm so picky about my hair. The owner(stylist) just asked me first time how i liked it,then she does exact job for two years. I love th place , very clean . So convinient , she is so quick. Lovely personality, always happy , great personality, great customer service,positive attitude. Everytime i call for hair cut , she is available and says come over. Took both kids ages 7 and 5 to get a cut and trim. Mimi took her time with both of them and they LOVED their hair cuts. They even mentioned that they want to come back to her which is rare for them to even make a statement like that. Salon is super clean and welcoming. My family and I are from Massachusetts. We didn't have time to get a haircut for our vacation in California. So as we arrived we drove around looking for places to get a nice haircut to look good on vacation. We stumbled across La Deux Salon and Barber. The lady there was so nice and was willing to give me a haircut for a reasonable price. She gave a very nice haircut and she did my sisters eyebrows very good. If you're considering getting a Brazilian Blowout here, I'd strongly suggest going somewhere else…read more The one I got from City Love Salon made virtually no difference--my hair looks the same and takes the same amount of time to style. The photo I'm sharing here is my hair 11 days after the treatment. This is exactly how my hair looked before, which is, of course, why I wanted a Brazilian Blowout. The service felt incredibly rushed for my thick hair (it took less than 2 hours, and that included a haircut). Although my hair was flat-ironed during the service, the stylist did it quickly instead of doing many careful, repeated passes over small sections like I'd experienced with successful treatments in the past. When I contacted the salon about the result and asked them to fix it, they simply told me my expectations for a Brazilian Blowout were wrong. What really sealed it for me was learning just how little experience the salon has with this service. Despite offering Brazilian Blowout "Original formula" on their booking site, the owner told me they actually use "Pure Brazilian." The owner also told me she had only just performed one herself for the first time and talked about wanting to offer the lowest-effort version of the service possible. That explained a lot. If a salon is going to advertise a specialized chemical service, I expect them to actually have expertise in performing it. I gave City Love multiple opportunities to make this right before writing a review. I reached out more than once, first asking if they would redo the treatment and later asking for a partial refund. I got the runaround on the former and no response at all to the latter. I won't be returning to City Love.
