Beware of Carlos!!!! This grown man verbally harass me and my young daughter. He is tried to gain sympathy and drum up busy by lying on the Nextdoor app, saying he asked me to get my daughter off the small stepped wall in front of the business "for her safety". While in all actuality what he did was shake his finger at me, scolding through a closed car window, and then proceeded to roll his window down, and yell at me that I needed to get my daughter off his wall immediately because she was "making his wall dirty". Mind you this wall is no more than 2 1/2 feet tall and I watch high school students from the high school cross the street walk up and down it all the time. He showed no concern for anyone's safety, and instead of saying what he wanted and driving away, he continued to try to harass me. We had a verbal exchange. In which I am told him to leave me alone, especially since my daughter had already come off the wall and we were already turning the corner off seventh Street. He continued yelling at me, which at this point I told him he needed to stop and that is exactly how businesses ended up with things like broken windows. As I've seen, his business has been vandalized more than once, and I would not be surprised if this wasn't the first time Carlos hadhad harass someone walking by like this and then informed them that that was his business. Sadly, he does not own the property and the man who actually owns property is extremely nice . Meaning his continued behavior is putting someone else's property at risk continually because he does not know how to represent himself or approach people kindly. He then proceeded to pull into the medium on seventh Street and start taking photos of me and my young daughter, he then posted online. After doing this, my daughter and I continued walking and truly we never even stopped to engage with him. He then proceeded in his car to follow us from seventh Street all the way down to six street the whole length of Roycroft street. This made both me and my young daughter extremely uncomfortable and feel unsafe. It is never OK to follow someone in your car let alone be a fully grown man following a small woman and her young child. This man seemed drunk and deliberately continued harassing me, and then called the police on my daughter and I for my kid being a kid and climbing on a wall like all kids do. Carlos needs to stop harassing people both in person and online. I'm not surprise that this salon is almost always empty. I feel bad for his employees. read more

I recently moved to the area and walk by this place daily. The salon receptionist set me up with Christopher same day. He was professional and hilarious. He does a wonderful job of managing my extremely thick, layered hair. I've been back three times since, and he is always prompt, helpful, and fun. I have also been to Pamela, the esthetician, and she is also excellent. Her facials are pleasant, and my skin is improving immensely thanks to here skills! Her facial wax is the hard wax type which, in my opinion, hurts way less and does not irritate my sensitive skin as much as the conventional wax. read more

Jenny Lee is magical...I love this place. Classy, but not overpriced. I have thick, curly, collar-length hair which needs tlc. I always look better coming out of there, and totally trust that I will get a great cut every time. I've come to the realization that I can get keep getting $15 haircuts every other month which constantly have to be "fixed" and be miserable, or I can come and get a REAL cut for $45 and be good for a while. read more

Last minute highlights thanks to Yelp map guidance. Wow so fast and excellent service, I was surprised how accommodating they were for me as a walk in too! Especially on this holiday weekend. Carlos the owner, very nice was on his way out but made sure to look at my hair before he left and give his stylist my desired look specifications. Liz, my stylist was amazing and so sweet. She made me feel very welcome and was amazingly fast at getting my hair done and not making me feel rushed. And for that, ill be back. Carlos is the best! Living cross-country and coming back to Cali, one thing has been confirmed: no one can do my hair as good as this man! The only way I could come out of the shower and air dry and still feel good about my hair (sans the Brazilian) is when Carlos cuts my hair. I am reviewing Ilana Piper who operates out of Studio 7 in LB, but technically does not work for them. Ilana has been doing my hair since I was 14. It has been long, short, blond, black- and everything in-between. Ilana is a master of haircolor- she is great about keeping up with current trends and products. I have only cheated on her a few times in the last decade and a half, and each time ends in a tearful emergency call, begging Ilana to fix a booboo. As far as the hair style is concerned, she has been very solid with my do's. Every now and again, something will fall differently the day after the cut than it did the day of- and Ilana has always been excellent about doing touch-ups. Also, bc my hair grows irregularly fast, she is very nice about touching up my bangs in-between appointments. For the record, when I lived all the way in San Fran, I would fly out to have to do my hair. She has clients that come from all over-Oregon, Santa Barbara etc. If she ever moves, I might have to consider relocating ; ) FYI- Ilana doesnt work for the store, so remember to bring cash or a check!!! read more

My review is for Aaron Haskell Buford. He was at Envy on Broadway and recently moved to this salon. I will follow Aaron to any salon. He is very talented and does awesome hair. My hair was a very vibrant purple and as my grays came out I decided to apply some blue to my hair. I had to go conservative for a job interview but I did not want to be a boring brown color either. Aaron was able to create an awesome brown plum hair color that has stayed on my white hairs. And I have an awesome pixie hair cut by Aaron. He is a master at his job! read more

Well, last week I finally called to make an appointment with him, I went in last Saturday, let me tell you that all I could say was WOW I was very pleased with my NEW haircut and I only went in for a trim! Claudia is wonderful!! I hadn't had a hair cut in over two years because I have been traumatized by many stylists in the past who don't listen to what I want and completely butcher my hair, so needless to say I was nervous to step into another salon. I made an appointment with Claudia and she was so great!! Her hair was amazing, the first clue I wouldn't be disappointed. She gave some good advice and I ended up with a nice cut and highlights.
