I really enjoy their food. Finally found a good Indian restaurant close by. Don't let the looks fool you, you have to try it.

Food was just ok. The $10 curry special was meh. It was worth about $8. Dosa was the best of all, not great but ok. No reason to return.

I'll preface this review with the fact that our original plans (the day before a holiday) had to…read morepivot since the original place we had chosen was closed - Always hard to make plans when a holiday falls on a Saturday!! Friday afternoon - peak lunch hour, this place is tucked away a bit, but when we came in the doors, every table was occupied (except 1).... Which worked out for us. Menu and photos of the dishes online looked entreaging and I am so glad we tried this place. Staffers were quick to seat us (at the last table available), but very quickly you can tell how fast/efficent the service was here and the number of customers they crank through. No noodles this time, but I will definitely be going back if I find myself in the Matthews area for whatever reason. Eggplant w/Garlic Sauce is definitely a must try and their mongolian beef was tasty. Both dishes came with rice (and we shared). Intreagued to try the rest of the menu!!

The noodles had great texture since they were fresh but everything here was lacking in flavor. I…read moredon't know if it was toned down because this was NC or if the restaurant itself just didn't know how to make good Chinese food? I'm inclined to believe this was intentional and that they know what they're doing. The cucumbers were not good at all. The skin was tough and the texture of the cucumbers were rubbery rather that crisp and snappy. The dish itself lacked balance and was very heavy on the vinegar. It's important to note that the fried tofu add-on was excellent. They used soft tofu and it was fried to perfection. The service was standard. The food was brought out quickly. I don't know what I was expecting coming from the Bay Area. I think this place "works" but if you've got a real hankering for good Chinese food, this is not for you. (To echo what Evan Z. wrote. Thanks for the review, it definitely helped levelset expectations!)

As a Bay Area foodie, I'm always searching for Chinese food that gives me that same feeling I get in San Francisco or Houston's Chinatown. Lam's comes close. The ingredients taste fresh, everything is made to order, the proteins are tender, and the flavors have depth without being heavy or overdone. This visit, I ordered the scallion beef, and it was excellent--tender beef, plenty of scallions and onions, and beautifully seasoned. I asked for something spicy on the side, thinking sambal or hot chili sauce, and they brought me chili crisp. Perfect. And yes, I know sweet and sour pork can sound cliché, but theirs deserves some respect. It's made with cubes of tender pork, bell peppers and pineapple, and the sauce isn't cloyingly sweet. The quality of the pork makes the dish. I'm already looking forward to the leftovers. Other favorites include the string beans with ground pork and the beef with broccoli. Both are stellar. They also have an extensive dim sum menu. It's ordered from the menu rather than served from carts, which means there's plenty more for me to work my way through. There's something comforting about eating here. Seeing families gathered around the tables enjoying Chinese food sometimes makes me a little homesick for meals out with my mom. Food has a funny way of doing that. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable and nicely air-conditioned, with a large live seafood/lobster tank. Service is friendly and fast. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and there's an easy parking lot right outside. Lam's Kitchen has earned a permanent spot in my rotation. I'll happily keep making the drive to Matthews and eating my way through the menu. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there and find your next meal.

The Dim Sum is fantastic! lots of options, everything perfectly prepared and presented. We ordered the sesame balls with red bean paste, spicy dumplings, crab Rangoon, chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and steamed crystal shrimp dumplings, pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings, and the sticky rice with chicken. Each choice as fresh, perfectly prepared, and tasted fantastic. There were 3 of us and we all ate well and had plenty of leftovers, which is always nice. And the best part was the cost of this feast. It was significantly lower than meals I have had at other Asian restaurants whose prices were much higher, food wasn't as well prepared and gave you much smaller portions. Our server, Ana, was wonderful. She even taught me how to use chopsticks properly. Loved her! The Manager, Tom, was also great! The place was very clean and had a lovely atmosphere. It would be great for date night, celebration dinners, and even if you just wanted to have a nice, quiet solo meal. 10 out of 10!!

There was no one there to really greet me so walked over to the table where group that I was meeting was. With over 20 people in the group, the restaurant was able to accommodate nicely with service being very good with timely drink refills. For the food, it was ok, I wouldn't say that it was the best Chinese food I've ever ate. I've had better at cheaper places. For the price, the food wasn't worth what was charged. I ordered beef and vegetables which did not include rice that was charged separately. The beef slices were thin and found bone in one piece after I tasted and spit out; vegetables were tasty. Rice tasted very dry and wasn't sticky and moist. I'm glad that I tried but found the food to be very expensive especially since it was just okay. But I don't think I would visit again.

The dumplings came out first--golden brown, crispy on one side, tender on the other, and disappearing faster than a politician's campaign promise. Then came a bibimbap still sizzling in its stone bowl, daring you to stir that runny egg into a mountain of fresh vegetables and rice. Finally, there was a kimchi pancake the size of a hubcap, crispy around the edges, soft in the middle, and just spicy enough to remind you it wasn't playing around. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made by someone who cared more about feeding people than impressing Instagram. The service was quick, friendly, and never let our drinks run dry. About the only disappointment was realizing we'd eventually have to stop eating. If you're looking for fancy white tablecloths, keep driving. If you're looking for authentic Korean food that'll have you planning your next visit before you've paid the check, you've found your place.
