We were visiting from out of state and were looking for some quick bites when we came across this place and I kid you not when I tell you we came back about 4-5 times again because of the yummy food . We must have tried atleast a good 10-12 things from the menu and everything was absolutely delish . They seriously have everythg from starters to desserts . Things we tried and totally recommend are : Irani chai , the samosas , chicken 65 , ginger chicken , pani puri , Dani puri . Some of my favorite biryanis were- gongura chicken biryani - DB chicken biryani . Last but not least was the Haleem - so authentic and yumm .. Desserts I tried n loved was - khubani ka meetha . 10/10 for the food , ambience and the fast service hands down.

    Lunch, and enough for dinner.

I really enjoy their food. Finally found a good Indian restaurant close by. Don't let the looks fool you, you have to try it.

Food was just ok. The $10 curry special was meh. It was worth about $8. Dosa was the best of all, not great but ok. No reason to return.

    Lam's Kitchen - Mapo Tofu

Went there with the wife the…read moreother night and ordered up a couple of dishes; whole fish steamed with chili, fried intestine, mayo tofu, soft shell crab and spicy wonton. With me describing the taste, texture, presentation, it does not do it any justice. Need to go and taste it for yourself, you will thank me later. We got there and there were no tables available yet so we sat at the bar and when one was available we got moved over and then our wonderful dinner experience began. We've been here before many times, but this is the first time I remember to do a review. Just look at the pictures below and you will see what I got to experience. Each time we dined in, the experience was excellent and food were great.

This place has changed significantly since the last time we had visited for lunch. We had ordered…read morethe orange chicken with fried rice with wonton soup. The soup was good, but warm (not hot). After that, the experience went straight downhill. Firstly, the chicken was saturated with a honey-sugar glaze that was thick and slimy. It made the chicken uneatable. The broccoli was cold, as if chilled in the refridgerator before being served. Nobody like broccoli cold as ice. Lastly, we had ordered the fried rice. It was nothing like other photos from past reviews. It looked like plain white rice with a fried egg mixed in. It was bland and tasteless. Service was impersonal and lacked any eye contact. In fact, when the server was handing me the bill, she was literally looking across the room while aimlessly reaching out her arm with the bill. The food is sub-standard and is not like it once was. Needless to say, we will not go back.

The Imperial Treasure - Pork and crab soup dumplings

The Dim Sum is fantastic! lots of options, everything perfectly prepared and presented. We ordered the sesame balls with red bean paste, spicy dumplings, crab Rangoon, chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and steamed crystal shrimp dumplings, pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings, and the sticky rice with chicken. Each choice as fresh, perfectly prepared, and tasted fantastic. There were 3 of us and we all ate well and had plenty of leftovers, which is always nice. And the best part was the cost of this feast. It was significantly lower than meals I have had at other Asian restaurants whose prices were much higher, food wasn't as well prepared and gave you much smaller portions. Our server, Ana, was wonderful. She even taught me how to use chopsticks properly. Loved her! The Manager, Tom, was also great! The place was very clean and had a lovely atmosphere. It would be great for date night, celebration dinners, and even if you just wanted to have a nice, quiet solo meal. 10 out of 10!!

There was no one there to really greet me so walked over to the table where group that I was meeting was. With over 20 people in the group, the restaurant was able to accommodate nicely with service being very good with timely drink refills. For the food, it was ok, I wouldn't say that it was the best Chinese food I've ever ate. I've had better at cheaper places. For the price, the food wasn't worth what was charged. I ordered beef and vegetables which did not include rice that was charged separately. The beef slices were thin and found bone in one piece after I tasted and spit out; vegetables were tasty. Rice tasted very dry and wasn't sticky and moist. I'm glad that I tried but found the food to be very expensive especially since it was just okay. But I don't think I would visit again.

This review is for PePeRo Korean Restaurant, tucked inside a Korean grocery store in Matthews --…read moreand honestly, don't let the outside fool you. This place is all about the food. Of course, I went straight for the galbi, the Korean-style marinated short ribs, because I am forever on the hunt for the perfect kalbi the same way I once searched San Francisco for the perfect Chinese hoisin ribs. And wow... this absolutely delivered. The platter came out sizzling hot on a cast iron-style fajita plate over sweet onions and cabbage, with eight very generous pieces of beautifully marinated beef short rib. It also came with rice and several little banchan side dishes, which made the whole meal feel complete and authentic. Everything was made fresh to order, and you could taste it. I'm honestly embarrassed to admit I ate almost the entire thing myself. I thought for sure I'd have leftover rice, but the protein was definitely the star of the show. Tender, caramelized, smoky, savory-sweet perfection. Finger-licking good -- literally. The server saw me trying to clean up the evidence and kindly brought over extra napkins before I even had to ask, which was honestly pretty intuitive and sweet. The restaurant itself is simple, clean, and efficiently run. Not a lot of ambiance, but honestly, you're not paying for ambiance here -- you're paying for really solid Korean comfort food, and they absolutely nail it. Looking around, it honestly seemed like the restaurant side was busier than the grocery side, which tells you everything you need to know. One funny thing -- while wandering through the grocery store afterward, I finally figured out where the name "PePeRo" comes from. If you've ever had those Japanese Pocky sticks, the little crunchy cookie sticks dipped in chocolate, Pepero is basically the Korean version of that snack. So now the name totally makes sense. One tip: if you're shopping in the market afterward, check the meat section because now I'm wondering if I should just buy the marinated kalbi there and grill it myself at home. At around thirty dollars for the platter, it was definitely worth it for the quality and portion size, but I could also see this becoming a very expensive habit. If you're curious about authentic Korean food and want something beyond the usual trendy spots, this is worth the drive out to Matthews. Friendly service, excellent food, generous portions, and absolutely top-notch quality. Charlotte, be curious about food. Some of the best meals are hiding in the most unexpected places.
