Placed a togo order at Dakshin Indian Grill with a friend of mine. Daksin has a very extensive menu with loads of options to choose from. They even have some Indo Chinese dishes. I ordered the Garlic Naan, Korma Specials with Chicken and Papdi Chatt. Level one spiciness for my order. My friend got the Samoa Chatt, Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Manchurian Specials with Chicken and Fried Rice. She ordered everything on level one spiciness but the Manchurian Chicken at a zero spiciness. The food was all flavorful. The Manchurian Specials with Chicken was very spicy so spicy that she had to call back and have them remake the dish. The remade dish was amazing. Not spicy at all. I was able to reheat my dishes the next day and everything was better. The pickup process was easy and we were able to use the checkin reward of 10% off. I was impressed with the customer service and the portions of the dishes. Dakshin Indian Grill 16640 Hawfield Way Dr Charlotte, NC 28277 Saturday June 26, 2021 8pm (Review 544 overall, 88 in 2021)

Reviewing again, we have been here multiple times now and are never disappointed. Today, we tried a spicy chicken appetizer, its not on the on menu so don't know the name. It was so good, beautiful in presentation, and nice and spicy. Hubs had the lamb curry and I had the Mughlai shahi paneer. Both were excellent. The waitstaff is so helpful and always give great recommendations. Our favorite Indian restaurant in Charlotte.

Dirty spoon on windowsill next to table.

Dirty, Poor Rating of 86 'B' to starters. The plates are dusty (in fact the whole restaurant has cleanly issues - dread to know about the kitchen). Plates are left on the table getting dusty before dining. The Samosas were still frozen. The management seems not to care about the quality of food or the customer. I have eaten Indian my whole life and will never eat here again. Do yourselves a favor and search alternative Indian dining in the area; many and far better.

    Lunch buffet

We came here for a sunday lunch buffet. It was our first time here. When we came in, someone greeted us and told us we can sit where ever we wanted to and told us the buffet wasn't ready yet. We waited a few minutes and was told it was ready. We looked at the buffet and overall they had a good selection of items for vegetarian and non vegetarian. We got our food and sat down. We still didn't get anything to drink or get offered any drinks. We did see waters that were premade at the bar. We waited a good ten minutes and still no drinks. There were two people working-man and a woman. The man was working hard but the woman was on her phone texting the majority of the time. I finally went up to her and asked her for some waters, she didn't even look up from her phone and said yeah and looked at the waters at the bar. I assumed she wanted me to get them myself so I did. My husband wanted their soup but didn't see any soup bowls. He asked the same lady who is still on her phone if there are any bowls for the soup. She doesn't look up at her phone again and tell him to use a small ramekin. I go to the bathroom and there is NO toilet paper in there. Disappointing considering the restaurant just recently opened. What was even more annoying was they had a large rice cooker and I opened it to get rice and I see immediately a long black curly hair in it. I lost my appetite. At this point our drinks are still not filled up and they weren't even that busy. Service here is terrible and I have no intentions of coming back.

It was a pain in the rear to order food here. Takeout is better than in person. You have to order from your phone when you sit down inside. When I first pulled up at 5:30pm they looked closed. No visible signs that they were open from the outside. The windows and door were heavily tinted. Even the open sign wasn't lit. There was also a sign that said please wear a mask but no employee wore a mask so it made me wonder why the sign is still up. Once inside, the restaurant was clean and it gave cute Western vibes/cowboy vibes. YOU DO NOT ORDER FROM A MENU but you order from your phone. It made it challenging when it's your first time looking at their menu. I ended up ordering paneer and my wife ordered Butter Chicken Masala. The medium heat was perfect but the mild is not mild enough for those looking for the least spicy. The flavors were good but not quite what I was hoping for.

So good and customer service is great

Food is amazing here I highly recommend it for first time eating Indian food. The service is great I never gotten my order wrong.

We came here for a team lunch on the recommendation of one of my coworkers. They do have a buffet sometimes, but not when we were there. It wasn't very crowded and we were seated right away. My husband and I split the butter chicken and the goat masala special. Butter chicken is always one of my favorite Indian dishes and this one didn't disappoint. The goat masala was also good, but the goat was cooked on the bone (fairly normal, but I'm not a big fan). We got the assorted bread basket to share as well which came with naan, garlic naan, roti, and butter roti. The garlic naan was definitely the best and I would probably just do a single order of it next time. Overall the service was good although it was a little slow when it came time to get our checks. Definitely a good Indian restaurant worth checking out.

    Chicken Tikka Masala
    Janelle D.

Really good Tikka Masala, but NOT that spicy so ignore the other reviews that say it is. Maybe they make it more mild now that they only do take out but I definitely was hoping for more heat. Overall SUPER TASTY though.

Chicken masala with rice. Garlic num ( with chili on it) We also order regular garlic num w/o chili .

Luv the food. It's spicy but yummy. Be careful about the spicy level. Usually when we order Indian food ( chicken masala) from other restaurants, we have to ask for extra spicy. But here, don't! They warned us when we ordered take out so we decided to get just medium. It came out great for my husband's food. It's still too spicy for my chicken masala. Ordered on Monday and got the food in 15 mins. Service was nice and faster than I expected. Dine in is open and they still have good traffic! That means there are lots of ppl love the spicy food like us. Lol. Just a reminder, watch out the "spicy level" when you order. Don't try to level up if it's your first time here. I'll definitely go back soon.

Ordered delivery, Chicken Vindaloo, garlic naan. Order arrived early, and hot! Vindaloo was extra spicy as requested and amazing!! Great amount of chicken! Rice was perfect and naan never disappoints.. No utensils. Lucky find for this traveler!

Clockwise from top left - shrimp vindaloo, Bhindi Masala (Okra), raita

Salmon is delicious even cold. Yogurt rice has uncooked rice and so much yogurt it's soup (not good at all). Garlic naan doesn't taste like any garlic and if you know naan, it's not good cold. Our regular appetizer at $13.99. Many servers are not well-versed in making English translations of dishes, so do not be shy to ask for clarification from other employees. Also, spiciness in terms of heat are set as none, mild, medium and hot. On a scale of 5, with 5 being very hot, we go for a 2 or three, mostly sticking on mild. The kitchen can go overboard, so if it is too hot for you, speak up. We usually split a large bottle of Indian lager beer. There are about 6 varieties available. India does make good lager beers at $5 - 8 per bottle. Another appetizer that I have as a main is the most delicious Pitapuram Prawns Vepudu ($17.99), at mild spice level. A super yummy dish of sauteed shrimp, eight medium sized that you have to cut in half to eat, cooked with onions and green bell pepper in a unctuous gravy, as in rich tasting, of severe flavor. I mean severe to be intense, not ucky. The Okra Masala ($13.99) is a stew of okra with onions and spices, which is delicious mixed, as we like it, with white rice, at medium spice level. We eat whatever is left over for lunch the next day. Bullet Naan ($4.99) is covered with bits of chilies, going well with the curries and stew-like dishes. To control the spicy heat and rescue my tongue, I regularly order a Mango Lassi ($3.99). This is a very nice, smooth, tasty with tang yogurt drink. Try one for your table so you all can try it. Water and beer do not "refresh" the spice...milk and yogurt does. The Asian-Indians eat later, beginning at 8pm.
