    Transitional curry & Tikka Masala
    Thao S.

A true culinary gem in the neighborhood. The environment is impeccably clean, the cuisine exceptionally fresh, and the flavors perfectly balanced. Service is consistently attentive and gracious. Signature dishes such as the tikka masala, tandoori chicken, samosas, and chai tea are simply outstanding.

Hello Yelpers! Let's talk about where you can find THE BEST GARLIC NAAN ON THE PLANET! If you live in Wesley Chapel, NC and have seen this restaurant and decided to skip it, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! This food is so delicious, I selfishly debated not writing this to keep it to myself. Yep, I will not lie. I did. After my 25th consistent visit, I just couldn't deny the people. So here we go. Curry has a lovely intimate aesthetic inside. You aren't going to see more than 40 ppl inside. Everything feels authentic to the origin of each dish. If you don't believe me, get the butter chicken or chickpea curry if you'd like to be safe. I've tried multiple items and they haven't disappointed once. The service is always on point, and now that I'm a regular, they already know what I'm getting. That's the stuff of legend when it comes to restaurants. My favorite dish(es) is the Lamb Biryani - heat index 6 (Yes I forgot to add that you can tell them how spicy you'd like it ranging from 1 - 10 so please don't like spice stop you from experiencing this blessing. 2) Tikka Masala - heat index 6 (HEAR ME OUT if you love dipping THE BEST GARLIC NAAN in a rich flavorFULL sauce, this dish is FOR YOU. 3) Butter Chicken is a strong runner up for you sauce dippers. I'd choose heat index 6-7 depending on if I'm feeling risky. 4) Chickpea Curry - which is still masterfully flavorFULL heat index - 7. About this heat index, upon my first visit I order the Rasila Gobi (fried cauliflower) at heat index 8 with the chickpea curry at heat index 8. My mouth was on fire, but I could not stop eating this deliciousness. So please learn from my mistake. The Rasila Gobi (MUST HAVE) has a rich flavor that lingers and intensifies with each bite. Now, my safe zone is at 6 because 7, is too close to 8 (Haha). If you love flavor, but not spice, you are a 1 - 2 person. If you like to dabble a little, 3 - 5. I truly hope this helps! As for the naan and lamb biryani, I've had this dish from multiple states, including NYC for your hardcore folks out there. THE BEST IS RIGHT HERE. Please Dine In to experience that garlic naan (IMPORTANT). It comes out hot and fresh with the perfect texture and flavor. Taking it to-go (still good) would do your tastebuds a disservice due to the humidity inside the takeout container (if you know, you know). It is truly something special. Now, this Lamb Biryani will hit every single taste bud you have with so much pleasure, you will holler out "MmmMmm". That lamb cuts like butter. This dish comes with two kinds of sauce that are both differently delicious and unique. I throw both on the dish, mixing in the fresh red onion, then squeezing the lemon all over the top. Curry closes mid day as part of their culture so check the hours before you head over. This is a winner people! From the atmosphere, to the plating of each dish, to the music, and service... it's just a WINNER. My recommendation is the Rasila Gobi appetizer, Lamb Biryani entree, with THE BEST GARLIC NAAN ON THE PLANET. I hope you read this review in its entirety, the secret is now out! And you don't wanna miss it. If you love Indian Cuisine and you live 100 miles away, it is definitely worth the drive! 100 percent. Enjoy your new obsession! You're welcome!

I have been wanting to try Curry Place for some time now because the reviews are great and I love Indian food. My daughter and I recently went and had a great experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere is great and the decor is nice but doesn't have much of an Indian aesthetic. However, that doesn't matter because the food is what we came for. We were promptly seated and our server was the waiter and the owner. The owner is wonderful and has a great background story to his life. First, we had to order the samosas. When they came out, they were hot, fresh and full of authentic flavor. The flavor was what you'd expect. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and I honestly didn't have high expectations. I ordered it at spice level 7 out of 10. However, when my dish came out with the basmati rice, I was eager to try. The portion size was enough for two people and from the first taste, it was amazing. It had the perfect blend of ingredients, spices and the curry sauce had the perfect thickness to it. There was no after taste and each bite was just as good as the first. The chicken was cooked very well. It wasn't overcooked or undercooked. The naan matched very well with the curry and I could've kept eating but as I said, the portion size is enough for two. The service was excellent as they made sure to check on us often to make sure we were happy. I was more happy with the meal and knowing that Curry Place is close to my home means I don't have to drive to Ballantyne, South Park or uptown Charlotte. I highly recommend Curry place for the food first and foremost, the customer service and the value for your money. You won't be disappointed.

Last week I went on a mini culinary adventure for the hesitant. As the only non-enthusiast of Indian cuisine in my family, I decided to check out this new restaurant because it was too convenient not to. I was pleasantly surprised. I started with the ever-popular Samosa appetizer. Even the most skeptical diners can find joy in that dish. It was so filling, and both of the sauces that came with it were delicious. After reading up on Chicken Biryani, I decided to give it a shot. It's a simple dish. What could possibly go wrong? Good thing I never discovered the answer to that question. Nothing went wrong. The rice was flavorful and the rice had three whole pieces of chicken buried in it. A leg, and I believe two thighs. I didn't try the sauce that came with it. It had a milky appearance so I enjoyed the Biryani without it. I ordered both dishes with a spice level of 3, which was the lowest option and perfect for me. The staff was great as well. I was inside for less than 5 minutes, just long enough to pick up my takeout order. The person who checked me out was courteous and had genuine enthusiasm. Who knows, this experience may have transformed a hesitant Indian cuisine explorer like me into an avid fan. I'll be sure to check this place out again.

Ordered a few items for a quick dinner at work and left overs to take home. I got the Chicken Momos, Samosa Chaat, Classic Curry with Chicken and Everest Delight Curry with Chicken. The Momos are little pillows of flavor. Make sure you dunk them in the spicy sauce they come with. I didn't like the Samosa Chaat. I couldn't finish it and ultimately it sat in the fridge til it made its way to the trash. Both of the curries were ok. There was no complaint. The nibblings like them. Overall I would get the Momos again and would try some of the fusion items on their menu. Everest Bistro 9010 Monroe Rd Unit-I Charlotte, NC 28270 (Review 730 overall and 75 in 2022)

Every dish is tremendous...quality, quantity, taste. Our new go-to default destination when we get in those I-don't-know-where-do-you-wanna'-go moods. Something for everyone. Young, old, vegetarian, or the I-eat-everything crowd.

Excellent chicken momos! I have been looking all over CLT for momos, Tibetan & Nepalese style dumplings. I used to live in NYC & they were essential to a Tibetan restaurant in the Village. Here they were defined as Nepalese food and they tasted delicious! Loved the sauce and the spices, which were flavorful!! I also had the chicken kebob which was crispy and tasty. My friend had the tofu tikka masala and liked it. They were busy so definitely give yourself time to eat & enjoy.

The only thing stopping me from giving this review a 5 is the fried rice. The chicken fried rice, while huge in portion, lacked in flavor and I found myself trying to put sauce on it to make it enjoyable. I'm pretty sure Nepal is not known for their fried rice, so I partially take the blame here. Now to the GOOD: I came here to place a takeout order. The take out menu is more limited than the in house dining menu which is frustrating but I suppose there is a reason for that. I ordered samosas, curry, and chicken fried rice. The total came to about $40.. a moderately priced lunch meal for 2. The food was ready in about 20 minutes, neatly packaged, and good to go! Service was very friendly. The curry- was excellent. I ordered a 3/10 spicy and it was perfect for me. Big chunks of chicken swam in the savory curry sauce. I ended up pouring left over sauce over the fried rice to soak up all of that curry flavor. Yum!! The samosas, 3 in a serving, were excellent as well. Very hardy with lots of potato filling. The seasoning was wonderful too. My husband enjoyed. All in all, I will certainly go back. I am going to dine in next time!

I wish I would've ordered something different than the Jhol Momo - Vegetable (Nepali dumplings in…read moresauce) because they gave me chicken instead. If ordering takeout, that's a dish that you won't be able to check until you're home and cut it open or pop the whole thing in your mouth. And that means if you're a vegetarian, you will be really disappointed because you will either not be able to eat your meal, or you will have to drive out again, meaning that you won't be able to eat with your friends and family by the time you get back. (And if they wait for you, their dishes will be cold.) My friend enjoyed their Aloo Ghobi (potato and cauliflower curry dish). The restaurant smelled fragrant with Indian spices and the staff is immediately inviting and nice! The restaurant appears clean and well-maintained. For those reasons, I'm giving them 2 Stars. However, it is a BIG mistake to switch a vegetarian dish with a meat dish, leaving one person in the group with nothing to eat, so I really cannot justify giving more than that.

Our regular appetizer at $13.99. Many servers are not well-versed in making English translations of dishes, so do not be shy to ask for clarification from other employees. Also, spiciness in terms of heat are set as none, mild, medium and hot. On a scale of 5, with 5 being very hot, we go for a 2 or three, mostly sticking on mild. The kitchen can go overboard, so if it is too hot for you, speak up. We usually split a large bottle of Indian lager beer. There are about 6 varieties available. India does make good lager beers at $5 - 8 per bottle. Another appetizer that I have as a main is the most delicious Pitapuram Prawns Vepudu ($17.99), at mild spice level. A super yummy dish of sauteed shrimp, eight medium sized that you have to cut in half to eat, cooked with onions and green bell pepper in a unctuous gravy, as in rich tasting, of severe flavor. I mean severe to be intense, not ucky. The Okra Masala ($13.99) is a stew of okra with onions and spices, which is delicious mixed, as we like it, with white rice, at medium spice level. We eat whatever is left over for lunch the next day. Bullet Naan ($4.99) is covered with bits of chilies, going well with the curries and stew-like dishes. To control the spicy heat and rescue my tongue, I regularly order a Mango Lassi ($3.99). This is a very nice, smooth, tasty with tang yogurt drink. Try one for your table so you all can try it. Water and beer do not "refresh" the spice...milk and yogurt does. The Asian-Indians eat later, beginning at 8pm. The restaurant has re-decorated and renamed from the Indian restaurant that was here before. It looks very nice and bright inside with beautiful booths that look as if they have crystals nestled into the black fabric. We started off with the chicken samosa. It was delicious ! It reminded me of having a chicken pot pie inside a crispy, puffed pastry. It was served with a tasty green sauce and a tangy brown sauce to dip in. The next time I came, the waiter brought us their special sauce to dip in, and it was even better. It tasted like spicy cilantro and mint. For entrees, my husband ordered the lamb kabobs. They came out sizzling hot, just like you see the fajita meat at Mexican restaurants. They were very good. I got the lamb chetinadu with rice. I asked for it spicy, but it wasn't quite spicy enough. Even my light-weight husband could eat it... so it was definitely weak. They took it back and fixed it, then it was perfect ! (And an entirely different color- it went from brown to a reddish color). I got the garlic naan bread to go with it, but it was not as thick and fluffy as other places. It reminded me of store-bought naan. My only complaint was their mango lassi. It was served in a plastic cup, not a glass, and was really watered down. I doubt I will buy it again. I like it thick and flavorful. Next we tried 2 of the desserts. The first dessert ras malai topped with sliced almonds reminded me of tres leches, except the spongy "cake" was round balls. It was good. The second was carrot halwa topped with cashews. It was ok. Interesting to try different things. They charge extra for credit card, so pay with cash. Also, closely watch what you are being charged. I was almost charged one dollar more than what was listed on the menu for the dessert. I came back 5 days later with my Indian friend and we both got the Hakka noodles (Indo-Chinese). They were very good ! This may be my go-to order. I must say, the Indo-Chinese noodles are better at Aroma because they put more cabbage and carrots, but this was still very good. That would be my suggestion... to add more veg. and they could be just as good. Lastly I tried their mothu kur laddu for dessert. I really enjoyed it. Note this item said $5 on the menu, but I was charged $6 upon check out. I caught it, and it was corrected. My Indian friend was not impressed with the dessert selection. She said most are likely from a can at the store. I personally don't know any different so to my little American self, it was fine. Overall, I'll probably become a regular here. Thinking about inviting a group to join me next week !

She's such a lovely, sunny young woman -- incredibly pleasant to talk to and very responsive to all our questions. We started with mango lassis , one for each of us. I also ordered garlic naan , which is one of my favorites. Since the restaurant specializes in kabobs, I decided to try the garlic chicken kabobs , while my husband went with the veal kabobs . The mango lassi was tasty , though I'd suggest serving it in a glass when dining in -- just a small touch that would elevate the experience. We were also provided with water , which was appreciated, especially with dishes that include rice and bread . My husband's veal kabobs and naan arrived first, followed shortly by my garlic chicken kabobs. The naan did not disappoint -- soft, warm, and full of garlicky goodness . My chicken kabobs were flavorful and came out piping hot , a great sign of freshness. One thing to note for future guests: the kabobs are served without sauce, so don't expect a curry-style dish like tikka masala . We had just two small critiques: 1. The rice served was jasmine, which felt a bit dry and underwhelming. Typically, we're used to basmati rice with Indian cuisine, so this was a noticeable difference. 2. The veal kabobs, though well-seasoned, were overcooked and had a chewy texture . To finish off the meal, I ordered the ras malai -- and wow! It was delicious. I even went back for seconds! The establishment itself was clearly recently renovated . You can tell thought was put into the space -- the color palette was fresh and tasteful, and the overall atmosphere was very clean and inviting . It made for a lovely dining experience from start to finish.

I'm very easy about this but made hard to ask about items. 2nd went in to pickup order wasn't ready they didn't have knowledgeable cashier to show me details before paid. Had to pay to even see receipt. Weird but order was right thankfully. 3rd they told me food is not ready at time stated which is fine. Waited additional 30 still no message food ready. Went back in was told they meant to reach out. 4th leave with food takes less than 10 minutes to get home. All food is ice cold. The salmon, yogurt rice and garlic naan. Ice cold . Salmon is delicious even cold. Yogurt rice has uncooked rice and so much yogurt it's soup (not good at all). Garlic naan doesn't taste like any garlic and if you know naan, it's not good cold. Mango lasses no issue. I wanted to call to express displeasure but wasn't sure would understand so headed to microwave. Would return for tikka fish (salmon) again. The rest is a no thank you

They made sure we were looked after and checking intermittently if everything was good and if we needed anything else. I ordered the Pudi Dosa which was spicy and delicious. We also had the mysore masala dosa which was very tasty . The filter coffee was tasty as well . I would have enjoyed it more if it was steaming Overall ill rate it 4.6/5

I'm so happy to have this restaurant in Charlotte (it's minutes from home, which is even better)…read more We just had their Banana leaf grand feast and it was delicious! Top notch service and hospitality, food served with smiles and pride. Grand feast has 25 items served on a banana leaf in a thali style serving. (Pictures taken were still short of some items.) Each and every item on the banana leaf reminds you of food back home and was tasty. My personal favorites were the paneer, dosa, mung salad, sambhar, puliyogare and kheer. Service for such a feast is no easy feat, and they did a marvelous job in serving food effortlessly and so efficiently. Hats off! They have a loyal customer in us, and we will be back soon. Restaurant seating was changed to accommodate community style feast serving, but place was neat and well maintained. My husband is from Bangalore, so this food hits home for us. So happy to have Aahaar so close by.
