However, over the years, we have had them return multiple times for recurring cracks. Each time, the repair involved filling the cracks, which unfortunately did not appear to resolve the underlying issue, as the same cracks kept returning. Earlier this year, I contacted Doug and again regarding the same problems. I was told the cracks were likely due to seismic activity. Based on our observations, we are not convinced that is the cause. Additionally, there is currently a metal piece protruding from the side wall they built, along with other issues. We have documented these problems over time with photos and emails. After raising these issues again and requesting further assistance to address the underlying problem, we did not receive any additional follow-up communication. Because of this, we are now exploring other options to resolve the issue. Overall, while the initial build experience was positive, our experience with follow-up repairs and warranty support has been disappointing. I am sharing this so future customers can be sure to ask detailed questions about warranty coverage and long-term repair solutions before moving forward.

Mission West Pools and Spas did an amazing job on our pool install. Bill Relaford is the best…read morecontractor we have ever worked with. He was truly a pleasure, and he made the install process absolutely seamless. I had about five other companies come out to quote us. His quote for the install was great and it fit within our budget, but it was his professionalism and warm authenticity that sold us. Every crew that came out was respectful of our property and exceedingly efficient. We actually hired his last crew to put in some additional pavers and rock to complete the yard. All the big companies on Yelp and other review spaces must pay a fee to show up at the top of the pool builder list because if quality, customer service, attention to detail, and professionalism were the only considerations when deciding which companies are highlighted on review sites and apps, then Bill Relaford and the whole Mission West crew, would most certainly earn the top spot. Give them a try if you are in the market for a pool. You will be doing yourself a huge service!

You know when they say if it's not one thing, then it's another? That's me, damn. Pool pump went…read moreout and I talked to a local pool shop with a picture and video and they said it's a simple battery capacitor swap out but the issue was the placement of my pool pump. The geniuses who built the pool made it so the pump is up against the side of the house so everything would have to be taken out. Talked to Jennifer I believe, who has good customer service, from JNJ Pools and she schedules me their next available which was not soon. But I get a text later on the day and they had a cancellation and would be able to send someone out the next day. Tommy arrives to help me with the pool pump and he knocked it out. Great customer service by Jennifer and Tommy. Now that my pool is fixed, on to this damn irrigation that we just discovered. SMH.

I called them back on July 27, but they didn't return until August 4. Instead of standing behind their work, they claimed the repair was outside their 30-day warranty, even though it was the exact same capacitor they had installed. Because of that, I had to pay my American Home Shield service fee again. That's $100 on the first visit and another $100 on the second visit--all because the part they installed failed. I'm now out $200, have wasted weeks waiting for repairs, and my pool has turned green because it couldn't run properly. American Home Shield should seriously reconsider using this company as one of its service providers. A reputable contractor should stand behind the parts they install, especially when the same part fails so quickly. Based on my experience, I would not recommend JNJ Pools to anyone. The low rating they have is consistent with the service I received. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration, and choose a different company. Mine to Matt came here and tried to tell me that my capacitor went out because it's hot outside. They just came here on June 11 and by July 27 when I made the request for them to come out again my capacitor went out because the capacitor is like a battery and it doesn't last that long because of the heat anyone that has a Pool nose that is complete BS they are scam artists!

Big mistake... within just a couple days the pool turned green (see pic). Ace Pools came out a day after I called to give me a quote to get us back on track. We also signed up for their pool service. They come out weekly to check/adjust chemicals and handle all the other pool maintenance. We are still working on getting rid of the pigeons :( but our water stays beautiful with their help and all we have to worry about is our tan lines. Totally worth the money!

I contacted VIP Pool & Spa after Yelp recommended them as one of the "Best pool cleaners in Las…read moreVegas". As can be seen from the attached images my only need for a professional pool cleaner was to remove the bumpy, brown substance from the sides of my pool and the underlying ugly dark brown stains that covered all four sides (I didn't need a pro to sweep out some leaves and mop up a thin dirt ring around the drain). I was told that since "every pool is different" I would have to wait and see the results of their "chlorine wash" to determine if enough stain was removed to avoid having to paint the pool - which Jeff, the owner, said they would do for $1,200. As can be seen in image #2, after the SECOND "cleaning" was completed virtually NONE of the stain was removed! The first wash resulted in a 5 foot corner section where the crusty brown stuff had been removed but mostly still remaining everywhere else. The stain was completely unchanged. After finding that the stain could be reduced slightly with scouring powder, and that the crusty brown material was still covering most of my pool, Jeff sent the same person out to work on it some more. This resulted in the crusty stuff being completely removed (proving it wasn't done the first time) and the upper, lightest band of staining being reduced slightly but still having no effect on the darkest, ugliest staining. After protesting that so little had been done for $400 Jeff reminded me that he never promised they could remove all staining and that this was the best that could be done. No further reduction in staining was possible. This would have left me no choice but to paint the pool. But it wasn't true. There absolutely was a way to not only reduce the staining further but to completely eliminate it! Which would have also eliminated the need to have my pool cleaned or painted. In the hopes of avoiding a $1,200 paint job I went online to research pool stains to see if there were any other options. I learned that this was an iron rust stain which is among the most common types of fiberglass pool stains, which can be ENTIRELY REMOVED with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) which is universally recognized amongst pool cleaners as the definitive solution. So I added about two tablespoons of ascorbic acid to an 8 ounce glass of water and splashed it onto the side of the pool - then watched the stain COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR in a matter of seconds! I didn't even have to touch the side of the pool. I've since learned all I ever had to do was refill my pool and dump about a pint of this into it and let the filter run for about 24 hours. There are only two possibilities here: Either they knew what kind of stain this was and how to remove it, or they didn't. Either the owner of a professional pool cleaning service, with 16 years of experience, or the professional pool cleaner he sent out to clean it, was aware of this simple, inexpensive solution to this common pool stain, or BOTH of them didn't know how to solve a stain that I found a solution to after 10 minutes on YouTube. I sent a video to Jeff demonstrating the ease in which the stain could be completely removed and an e-mail explaining why I thought it was unreasonable that I should pay $400 to accomplish little more than the removal of some leaves and a small circular mud stain when a complete cleaning solution was readily available. After six days with no reply and the video never being downloaded I called Jeff to again request a refund. He acknowledged reading my e-mail but never watching the video, then said that since "We did what we we're paid for" and "The pool is going to be the best it can" there were "no refunds". After each time I explained that I was the one who removed the stain (so did their job) he would respond, "Well if you did what you say you did ... if the stain's gone then it's gone. All you've got to do is just fill up your pool." He acknowledged that "There's all kinds of stains...", that iron rust stains was one he was familiar with, and that "We've been doing this since 2004 and every pool we come across is different" but would never answer my direct question as to why my stain was never even tested to determine its type and if he was aware that ascorbic acid was the solution to an iron rust stain. He just kept repeating comments like, "I'm happy that the stain is gone but we did our work, we did what we were paid for, and there's no refunds." I told him that I obviously wasn't going to sue him over $400 but I would certainly make others aware of what happened here. He replied, "Then you have to do what you have to do and I have to do what I have to do. I appreciate your call and you have a great day." Then hung up on me. I've since learned that practically every type of pool stain has a definitive and complete solution, most involving little more than pouring something into it. If you hire VIP to clean your pool don't let them convince you otherwise.

The tub wasn't properly purged so there was still a ton of dirt in there. I reached out for quotes to get this fixed, because they weren't willing to fix it. Eddie responded promptly and gave me a VERY fair quote. I was skeptical at first because I didn't see any reviews on his page. Turns out Yelp's algorithm removed some of his reviews, so I decided to give him a shot, and I'm glad that I did. Eddie came and fixed everything - he was meticulous, purged with chlorine, drained it, and wiped it till it was completely spotless. He spent several hours doing this. He then filled it back up, and balanced the chemicals. The water is squeaky clean now, and I'm already at ease working with Eddie because he seems to be a man of his word. Any issues, he will take care of you. If you have a pool, in ground, or above ground hot tub, I'd highly recommend his services. Not only are his prices fair, but he does great work. He used to be an executive chef on the strip, so you know he pays attention to the details. ATTN Yelp: Stop removing this man's reviews! He's legit and so are his clients.
