Desert King Window complaint We had 4 companies come to our home to give us an estimate for a full house of new windows. Cost $14,009.00 paid in fullI explained to each company that we had medical issues and special protections were needed. Husband has severe COPD and cancer. All assured protective coverings would be used. I explained that I needed the "finish" work completed inside and out. We had the paint so we needed to do nothing. 3 of the companies said we had to hire the "finish" work. They didn't provide a carpenter. I was also concerned about the time frame with the heat arriving in a few weeks. The time frame was 6-8 weeks with all companies. February 9th 2021 Koby came to our home and showed us several samples of windows. He measured all the windows and gave us a price. He assured us they would complete the "finish" work. We didn't have to do anything. I also let Kody know with the heat of AZ arriving soon, when would the windows arrive. He said 8 weeks. He told us he would talk with the install manager to see if we could be scheduled before the snowbirds since we were residents and medical. Koby told us that a "crew" would arrive early morning and would take no more than 2 days for the 16 windows in a single story home. I sent in the request to the HOA 2/12/2021 and approved 2/23/21. We signed the agreement with Koby 2/24/2021 The install manager James, called and arrived to take the final measurements and sign the final papers. I went over with James what we were told about a timeline and all the Koby told us. James said he was the one that says what is done and not a salesman.. I went over with James about the medical issues and he said he can't do anything about that. The time frame was 12 weeks.. That would put us in the warmth of summer... I knew we were in trouble.. We turned on the air conditioner April 7th 2021. We had already signed the papers when all of this came out.. I had all the walls stripped of pictures and anything on the walls. I had all furniture moved away from all work area and I covered everything myself. The windows and "crew" arrived on May 19th 2021 @ 7am... The crew was 2 men. A young man and his Dad. The young man, Chris, spoke english. His Dad did not.. Neither were masked up. Was not the 4 or 5 workmen salesman Koby described. They ripped out 7 windows. The wind was blowing hard and dust, bugs and leaves blowing inside. We have the freeway and access road behind us.. No protection was used. The result of not covering the windows that were removed for protection was an infestation of flying bugs.. Mosquitoes, flies, termites and spiders that were now inside. We had the house sprayed and treated by 2 pest control businesses once a week for 3 weeks. We are still trying to keep up to get this problem under control.. It is costly.. The Dad was not using protection under the pry bar removing the old frame. It dug into the bottom wood frame ledge and pulled paint off in sheets from the inside sheetrock. I let Chris know what was happening and he seemed shocked. April 20th 2021. Removed 5 windows with no protection again. More bugs, dust and whatever blew in... Workmanship was the same unless I was standing there watching...I kept reminding him to use protection under the pry bar but if I wasn't standing there, it was not used. April 21 2021. They filled the hole in the sheetrock with filler and tried to repair the gouges in the window sills with filler. They filled in where the paint had peeled off the sides inside the windows. April 22 2021. Crew arrived to finish the last 4 windows. I talked to Chris about one of the front kitchen windows that had water in the window track of the old window. I said I wanted to look at the window when it was pulled out if it had leaked inside the wall frame. The water comes off the garage roof into the window frame. The window was pulled and the new window put in without notifying me. The window over the sink has stone with grouting around it. Not using protection again and cracked several of the stone and grout was missing even on the side wall. The stone is old and could not find a match. They never covered the sink. I covered the sink so the granite would not be damaged.. James came out to see all the damage.. He said he would have someone come out to patch and paint the outside and inside. No one showed up. I was told the owner would call us but the owner never called. Husband painted the inside and out repaired the stucco. We agreed on a wood window sill to cover the damage. June 28 2021 Wood for the window came out to install it and cut it too short. After the July 4th, the new wood was brought out and left. Husband cut the wood and installed it September 26th 2021 we had some heavy rains all day and night. This is the window I had requested to look at when pulled. It leaked all over. Wow, where to start..........from the beginning of my initial phone inquiry with Ron Shortt I felt as though I was in reliable and capable hands. Ron sent out Liz for our consultation and she was so knowledgeable and informative about Desert King Windows products and national guidelines regarding U-Factors and Solar Heat Gain Coefficients as they relate to our Arizona heat. During our consultation, my husband and I never felt any high pressure tactics - if anything, she left us with helpful information and encouraged us to compare Desert King's windows to any other company out there and then contact her again to discuss any questions or differences, etc. We met with a total of 6 window companies over 3 weeks and in the end we went with Desert King Windows ~ we experienced the good, the bad and the ugly during those consultations but are thrilled with the final installation done by James. James was on time, professional, a skilled craftsman in his field of expertise and very efficient. Our home was left in the condition it was prior to our 5 windows and new sliding glass door (looks just like French Doors, but it's a sliding door) being installed. My husband couldn't say enough great things about how James went about the installation from beginning to end. Both my husband and I are extremely pleased with the entire process as it relates to our purchase with Desert King Windows and will be using them in the future and recommending them to all our friends and family. I realize that everyone has their own experience and some may not agree with mine, but felt that I had to share ours as Desert King Windows bent over backwards to help us with 2 different schedule changes we had to make due to family emergencies and knew that as our "new windows/door" sat in their warehouse they weren't making any money on this deal, yet they never said one negative word. We chose Desert King Windows to replace all 16 windows in our house, as well as the sliding back door. We primarily wanted new, energy efficient windows to help with the energy costs during the hot AZ summer months. We had three different companies out to give us an estimate. Originally our plan was to just replace the bedroom windows, but when the price was much less than expected, we decided to go ahead with the whole house. As many cars as I've bought over the years, I hold a disdain for salesman in general. However Dan the sales rep was personable and informative made us feel as though he wanted our business without being pushy. He took his time with us and was able to answer all of our questions. Communication was great with the company. The windows arrived in the timeframe they gave us and they were able to give us an install date for the following week. It was at least a 2-day job. The installers were prompt, polite and professional. They did a wonderful job and the windows looked fantastic. There were a couple of screens that had a tear in them, and they assured me they would have the company replace those. The windows look gorgeous, and we're very happy with them so far. Our house is North/South facing, with the most of the windows being located on the East and South part of the house. The master bedroom is South-facing and has several huge windows and nothing out back to block the sun. Last year, I could walk over the threshold of that bedroom and literally feel the temperature rise several degrees. This doesn't happen anymore. Unfortunately we moved into this house last September so I wont have any electric bills to compare until then, but overall the house seems like it stays cooler and for longer periods of time. Desert King Windows recently replaced all seven windows and one large patio door in my house. I had been thinking of doing this for awhile, and after this last summer heat and round of storms, now was the time. I cannot be happier with the choice I made to go with Desert King Windows. The salesman, Dan Gordon, is a very pleasant, professional representative. He was very thorough in his presentation, very knowledgeable of his product, and answered all my questions. He even scheduled my window measure asap! The measurement man, James, was just as pleasant, precise, and thorough, All my windows and patio door fit perfectly after the install. James knows his business! The windows and door arrived earlier than promised, which was great. James called and set up the install date with me to fit my schedule. The install team, Jesse and Justin, were fantastic! They arrived on time and always called beforehand to let me know they were on their way. They also, were very professional, pleasant, precise, and hard-working. They installed the whole house in 2 days as scheduled. They were very respectful of my property, removed and rehung my window coverings as needed, cleaned up after themselves, and washed the windows inside and out. A week or so after the install, Dan Gordon, called to make sure everything went fine and to offer any assistance I might need. The windows are gorgeous. I didn't even want to hang any window shades, I wanted to show them off! And the patio door is soooo nice. It is on the south side of the house which gets all the heat. In August my husband and I ( mainly me , I must be honest here !) decided that we needed to replace our windows. There were leaks between the panes of glass and cracks in the frames. Dust leaKed inside onto the sills. Having had new floors last year I felt that the windows let the more modern feel to our home down. I recently had 6 windows replaced in my home by Desert King, and I couldn't be happier with the results! The sales presentation was completely painless and there was no pressure. (The polar opposite of the Renewal by Anderson sales pitch...! I'll never get that time back.) When I was ready to order, everything from measuring, order confirmation and scheduling was very professional, right up until the day of installation. The installation crew was outstanding. They worked quickly, but very diligently to get all 6 windows in just right. They were friendly, easy-going, but very meticulous. They cleaned up as they went and once they were done, everything was left in perfect order. Two things that set this company apart from other window companies I've used at previous homes: 1) The quality of the windows is exceptional. They're built very well, look amazing and do their job in keeping heat, noise and UV rays out. 2) The no-money-down policy. I did not have to pay until the day of installation, once I was happy with the finished job. I didn't expect that, but it was really nice to just have the whole thing paid for at once. The price was also competitive and better than two other companies quoted me. Overall, my home looks completely different now. I've gotten so many compliments from neighbors in the two weeks since the windows were installed. It was a smart investment. Desert King did not disappoint! We just had our front and rear entry doors replaced by Desert King. We chose the ThermaTru doors and very happy we did. We also included a Titan Security door in the front. No other company, large or small, that we got estimates from could beat their prices. From the initial salesman (Daniel), the measurer, the appointment setter (James), and the installers (Landon), everyone was friendly, professional, polite, courteous. No heavy sales pitch, just the facts (I'm a bottom line person). The lifetime warranty is also not offered by other companies that we talked to. We read reviews on doors and companies and we believe we made the best choices in doors and more importantly, the company who did the work. They installed everything, including the new hardware and thresholds. Go with Desert King and you will not be disappointed! Very impressed with the excellent installation also. I'm very sensitive to workers taking the time to prep the area and these two did it right. Laid down cardboard on the floor, put plastic over our furniture in the general area, cleaned up with vacuums, caulked everything properly and cleaned that up, had all the proper tools. Dan came out and was completely upfront about everything. I had a major issue with other companies wanting to build the window differently in our kitchen and make the window smaller. Dan told us they could cut it and keep the window size without me even asking about it, really showed that he had faith in his contractors. Dan answered all of our questions most of which we didn't even have to ask. James contacted me a few days later to set up official measurements. He was great, on time and very friendly. James told me the projected time and the windows came in earlier than what he had said. I was able to get the window install scheduled within 2 days of them actually arriving and installed 4 days after arrival. Nate was our installer (7 windows plus slider with built in dog door). I could not be happier with the install process. He projected a time for finish and delivered. The house was clean and no sign of the old windows after they left. Nate and his crew were very friendly and had all windows and the door installed within 5 hours! If you need windows, slider or whatever, these are the guys. Especially if you want a dog door in the slider. Do not fall for the other guys "we can have a third party install it after we put it in". The WILL NOT warranty the door after. We shopped around with a few different companies to replace half the window in our home (The half that faces west and get the blast from the AZ sun!). Daniel, the salesperson took the time to explained the product and the process and answers all of our questions. The quote was very competitive. Once the windows arrived, we got a call from Jayson, the owner, to set up an installation date. David and Donovan showed up promptly on the day of the installation. They worked hard in the summer heat and did an excellent job installing the windows and cleaning up after they were done. They were very polite and worked hard to please us as the customer. Two of the screens that had a slight tear on them. Within 10 minutes after the installers left, Jayson called to set up a time to have the screens repaired. We are definitely pleased with the product! We immediately noticed the reduction of street noise and the reduction of heat from the sun. World of a difference. The windows and the slider patio door operates very smoothly. There is no question why they received an A+ rating from BBB. We will definitely use Desert King Windows (and request David & Donovan) again to replace the other windows in the home in the future. read more

I went to their showroom after speaking with someone on the phone. They were brand new to the space, which was still under construction but looked very inviting. The owner showed me the windows, answered questions and scheduled an in-home consultation with the sales manager. Daniel was friendly, professional and obviously knowledgeable about windows. He gave a quote good for the month and didn't pressure me to sign that day (which I really appreciated). He promptly answered email questions after the visit and I decided to purchase some windows. They arrived sooner than I expected and the installation team ( employees of the business --not contractors) were great! They obviously knew what they were doing and were very respectful of me and my home. They worked carefully, answered questions, protected the inside from dust and completely cleaned up as they worked. There was one problem with the order and Desert King is making it right. The windows are well-made, work perfectly and a huge improvement over what I had. They are too new to see improvements in energy consumption but I'm sure I'll see it over time. Having work done on your home can be stressful and exhausting. Getting bids, waiting for contractors to call you back, show up on time, etc. This is was NOT the case with Desert King Windows. First of all, Dan Gordon showed up on time for the estimate. Pryor to his arrival I went on line and found 101 questions to ask about replacing windows and what to look for in the estimate. Everything was covered. The entire process was top notch. It started with a professional assessment with Dan, who was extremely knowledgeable and explained the whole process/procedures. Dan, even walked us through the paperwork for our HOA approval. His crew which consisted of James and Briar were true professionals. The crew showed up on time, did all the work shown on the estimate, communicated throughout the process and totally cleaned up afterwards. After calling Window World of Phoenix and being EXTREMELY disappointed in their customer relations, we decided to start calling around to other window companies for quotes on windows for our entire house. Desert King Windows was the second company we called and knew right away we didn't have to call anywhere else. They were very easy to schedule having someone come out to our house for a quote. Not only did he spend three hours explaining their products so we understood them, but he also demonstrated how 400+ degrees on the out side of the window feels on the inside, it wasn't even close-it was incredible! We needed windows for our home in Sun City and requested estimates from three companies. We chose Desert King Windows Co. and are very happy with our decision. We are so impressed with the owners, salesperson, installers, and of course, the windows. I was very worried that the tint of the new windows would limit the natural sunlight. (We're from Michigan and the sunny weather is one of the reasons we moved here.) The salesperson (Dan) said I wouldn't notice the difference and the installer (James) said the same thing. Happily...they are absolutely right. Also, we now have the added benefit of people not being able to see "into" the house as easily. My husband is pleased with the help he received from the co-owner (Jayson). The installers (James and Richard) were hardworking, conscientious and efficient. They even thoroughly cleaned up any mess that was caused throughout the process. With the information James provided, we were able to save over $150 because James knew how to rearrange the patio blind to accommodate the new patio door opening from the right rather than the left. 15 windows and a patio door done in 2 days. From the initial visit, through the installation process Desert King has been great!! We were referred to them from our neighbors who had them install windows previously, and were exceptionally pleased with them as well. I was nearly ecstatic when I saw how well they cleaned up after themselves as they were working and after completing the job. Lots of places will tell you they will do that, but they don't always follow through. Overall, the price was very reasonable, it took about 6 weeks for the Windows to be made and another week for the scheduled dates for the install to arrive. I have had 6 other window companies come by and give estimates over the last 18-24 months and Desert King is what worked for us. All vinyl double-paned windows that aren't welded in the corners, and are specifically designed for use in our hot desert climate and have the best overall warranty that I have seen. I just really can't say enough good things about Desert King, and if you need to have Windows replaced, you won't go wrong with them. read more

Who likes spending money to replace windows? Well a 21 year old house with builder grade windows falling apart is proof positive! Had 3 bids, all good companies, went with Desert King(not the cheapest if you're wondering). Dallas was the sales person who came to the house, very good presentation and answered all questions. Jonathan came to do final measurement, very professional! Windows were ready in 7 weeks. Jose and Alonzo came to install 21 windows which was done in 2 full days, return on 3rd day just for an hour to finish the little details! We are really impressed with how well this project went and the kindness of Jose and Alonzo! Only have one small area of stucco to touch up paint and a couple of small areas on the inside of a couple of window frames for paint touch up as well. The window quality is excellent with no cold temp transfer or drafts coming through anymore! Also like the fact we won't have to put up sunscreens anymore during the summer which makes the house very dark! Would highly recommend Desert King Windows! read more
