Our a/c started blowing warm air yesterday around 5:00 on a 107 degree day. The house quickly reached the mid 80s. I called Desert Diamond Air and they sent Johaan out to fix it. He arrived very quickly and immediately identified the problem and repaired it. He stayed onsite and kept checking and testing the unit to make sure everything was working properly. In the end, our repair only cost about $130 dollars and we were cool and comfortable again. Johaan was so efficient and knowledgeable about HVAC systems. I scheduled an appointment with Desert Diamond Air Cooling for a routine long overdue air conditioning check. I picked this company based on their reviews and I was not disappointed. Ismael called within the scheduled time window and sated he would arrive in 30 minutes. He and his coworker arrived on time and were very professional. They had to figure out which air conditioning unit as mine since I live in a condo complex because the original air conditioning company who installed them did not label each unit with our unit numbers on them. Such a small thing that should have been down, but they figured out which one was mine. Ismael was very knowledgable. He conducted his assessment to determine what parts need to be replaced, updated, cleared out or repaired. He took pictures of each item and explained everything In great detail. He provided quotes for each item and explained their service plan option too. I made my decision on what items I would address and they took care of each items that same day. Daniel was great, service cost was reasonable. My HVAC needed a new capacitor...Desert Diamond charged me $499.00 for the capacitor. The "Made in American" replacement part can be purchased for about $32.00 at Home Depot or Amazon. I had the exact service done on a Rheem system in Grants Pass, Oregon, three weeks ago and was charged $200.00. The capacitor charge was $59.00. In both cases the process took about 15 minutes, as it involved unplugging the bad capacitor and plugging in the new one. Buyer beware of marked up prices if you use Desert Diamond. read more

When I asked him to honor a coupon they had on their website, the tone posture became hostile, I was told to take it or leave it, and unfortunately, nothing was resolved after speaking to their service manager, Joseph. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a plumbing company. Desert Diamond Plumbing came out, charged me for a diagnostic, and then tried to push an outrageously overpriced repair that made no sense. Instead of offering real solutions, they acted like salespeople, trying to scare me into replacing parts that weren't even broken. Their quote was beyond ridiculous -- thousands of dollars more than what other companies charge, and they only gave me one overpriced option. It was clear they cared more about padding their bill than actually fixing the problem. To make things worse, their customer service was dismissive and unhelpful, and they refused to stand behind their work or the so-called "diagnostic" they charged me for. Do yourself a favor and call literally anyone else. This company preys on people who don't know better. Dishonest, overpriced, and unprofessional. When I found out that the coils were rusted out and leaking freon in my old Amana AC unit, I made many calls to many AC companies to get quotes on repairing versus replacing the unit. Craig was one of the only people to call and provide a quote for a new AC unit over the phone. When I called him to come out to finalize the quote, it was spot on from the original quote he provided over the phone. He took the time to ask me my concerns on my current AC set up and provided solutions to those concerns. He thoroughly explained everything they were going to do. He gave me the choice of a 10% discount off the AC unit or a 10 year labor warranty. He was also able to get me 0% interest for 3 years. Called for service on a Sunday. Visiting my mom for Mother's Day who is 88 years old. We live out of state. Called Diamond and on a Sunday a wonderful tech named Phillip arrived less than an hour from placing the service call. When we opened the door he had a nice friendly smile-no evidence of unhappiness being called out on a Sunday. Phillip kept up informed while he was up and down on the roof. My moms unit was manufactured in 1986. She keeps getting it repaired and it hangs on. It's only a matter of time until we will have to purchase a new one. Fortunately this time it was only the thermostat. I can't say enough about Phillips obvious passion for his job and his willingness to answer all my moms questions even repeated ones. My a/c went out in August, and I called around but everyone was busy. Until Desert Diamond. This past summer was beyond brutal, so I needed the a/c fixed right away. The tech came out and diagnosed the issue to be the capacitor, which would cost $700 to replace. As if I had a choice.... It took about 15 minutes, the tech was nice enough I guess. My main gripe is that all these a/c companies gouge you on a/c repairs. It's not like you can go without or call around and get other estimates. You NEED a/c to be working during the summer. all the techs are great. unfortunately these companies assume all people have millions laying around for repairs. And not knowing anything about AC, how do i know what coats are approx or not? The last time they came out they told me I needed to service each unit and it was going be almost $4000 for each. I am a single parent and make good money and that's not reachable for me. We had Desert Diamond install 2, 4 ton Daikin Heat pumps and a Daikin Mini-Split in the garage. Their bid was competitive and included a few items that the competing bids didn't include (extra large water pan in the attic, emergency shut-off switch in the pan for excess water). They arrived on time, were very respectful, personable and cleaned up when they were done. So far the system is quieter, appears to cool better. It's too early to tell yet if it's more efficient. We will have to wait for our first bill. We also have less dust in the house. The mini split in the garage really makes a difference. I had a new 5 ton air conditioning unit put in 4/2019 and bought a 5 year warranty with the unit. Bought a separate maintenance contact with them to check out the unit every 6 months. I had another company do a maintenance check up 4/2025. They found the unit to be not running properly , had restricted coolant flow and was running hot. I went back to look at the last report Desert Diamond issued in March,2024 and they told me all was running Great, the numbers showing it had restricted coolant flow was very similar. Called them to have them come out and do their own check on the unit and repair the problem that was present back when it was in full warranty and they refused. Anyone thinking about buying an air conditioning unit or using them for Maintenance, I would say, think twice. If you have a warranty with them, have another company do a check on the unit before the warranty runs out because they will not tell you about an existing problem until you are out of warranty. AC went out at 1030pm, in August in Arizona. Our house was up to 92 degrees!! So we called Desert Diamond Mechanical at 8am. They sent a tech same day - only a $70 charge and part of that is credited if you fix something. Steve S., an amazing tech shows up in full protection. Mask and show covers. He was very professional and found out the issue within 5-10 minutes. We are renters so he called the landlord and explained it all to her. He then talked to her family member who had more questions. He was nice and really cares that people make the right choices. He gave the option to fix and was realistic of what the could mean or the options for replacement AC. We chose to fix the problem. He said it would be a few hours, but he was done quickly and the air clicked on. Oh what an amazing sound!! Within 10 minutes you could feel that it was on, still hot but improving. One invoice was paid we got a immediate receipt with pictures of the problems, this is part of their inspection. Its been 3 hours -- house is cooling amazingly.
