If you're looking for a place that perfectly captures the spirit of the Old West after the gold…read morerush failed and everyone left town, this is it. The parking lot is a rodeo for compact cars only -- if you drive anything bigger than a Mini Cooper, good luck partner. The riverside 'sitting area' is less 'tranquil escape' and more 'Botanical Exhibit: Weeds of the Northwest.' A $20 Home Depot run could have fixed it, but apparently tumbleweed chic was the design choice. The scenic walkway is cleverly positioned right in front of your windows, so the choice is either: (a) enjoy your 'river view' or (b) star in a reality show called People Watching Me in My Pajamas. The walls are so thin you'll know exactly when your neighbor sneezes, flushes, or thinks deep thoughts about life. The western theme? Let's just say it's like someone googled "cowboy wood" and gave up halfway. The mix of cedar, pine, and random lumber scraps feels less John Wayne and more Home Depot clearance bin. And the bathroom? Oh, half of it is in the bedroom. Because nothing says romance like brushing your teeth while your partner is still in bed watching you. Five stars for location. Zero stars for everything else. Would only recommend if your idea of a Wild West vacation includes thin walls, awkward parking, and bathrooms that refuse to commit to a single room.

The hot tub was very useful to us and we sat in it stargazing for hours. The setting is private with privacy screens on both sides. We had neighbors on both sides of us who were also outside but all was peaceful. Good nature sounds out there. The check in procedure was flawless. It was all faceless and we never entered the office or saw any staff at all. They had our credit card number and sent us an email the day we arrived with the key box code. I'm assuming Covid prompted that procedure but it was smooth. There were a couple rocking chairs and a couch in the tv area. Under the tv was a DVD player and we watched some old Bogart/Bacall movies. Very cool. We already booked another trip next time Washington Pass is clear.

My…read moreexperience was quite pleasant and made for fond memories during my visit and exploration of North Cascades National Park. Upon arriving spontaneously in the charming town of Twisp, Washington...I needed a place to sleep for the evening before embarking on my journey through North Cascades NP. While using the app on my phone called Campendium, I found Riverbend RV Park. A lot of trailer and RV parks don't accommodate tents...but this place did! And that's how I was planning on staying here, setting up my tent and sleeping within the wonderful woods of nature. What was truly great about this Riverbend Park was that although I arrived in late afternoon at the last moment, I was still able to book a tent site using my credit card online through their website...riverbendrv.com. It was $28 plus tax for a campsite located right by the river! How cool! Not only was I setting up camp within the forest...but the surrounding river made for such a soothing and calming ambiance. I absolutely loved it here! Another fantastic aspect about Riverbend included in the $28 were showers and restrooms. Perfect! Now I had the chance to freshen up and get myself organized before camping out the next few days at North Cascades. When I did arrive...the Park Hosts had left for the evening and I luckily found an attendant on the grounds who provided me with a passcode to unlock the doors to the showers and bathrooms. Also, to use the showers...I needed quarters to operate them. But for me that wasn't an issue as I had plenty of change in my car for moments like these. Overall, the showers were clean and had hot running water. I was very satisfied with the conditions. When I had visited during this summer of 2020, there was a posted sign saying due to wildfires within the area...please no charcoal grills for barbecuing. Only electric grills allowed. Well...I had to break this rule. Otherwise I had no way of cooking dinner. So...I did light my small grill. I swear...I contained the flames extremely cautiously, lol. Also at my site was a picnic table...and once again...this was all situated along the banks of the river (how awesome). I simply found the setting here to be absolutely ideal! Here I was...enjoying a couple of hamburgers and hot dogs while sitting down at my picnic table relaxing by the free flowing river...all situated within the heart of bountiful trees and grass! Seriously...I was really happy here, lol. When the sun set, I had a terrific summer night's evening. It wasn't too cool outside and the stars were in full force. Sitting in my lounge chair I was able to take some time to appreciate the night's sky here in Northern Washington. In the moment I realized just how fortunate I felt to be able to travel (during this pandemic) especially coming from South Florida. I was a long ways away from home. Just some final points from my visit...this Riverbend RV Park is situated right off the road along Highway 20. Once I pulled onto the grounds there were instructions and a map on where to find the campsites. When I was here back in August of 2020, the sites were filled with plenty of trailers and RV's. You could sense this was a popular place for visitors and tourists. I had a wonderful night's sleep here. It was quiet and I felt rested the following day. Since the town of Twisp was nearby, when I woke up the next day before heading to North Cascades NP...I stopped at famous Cinnamon Twisp Bakery for some breakfast. It was a fulfilling way to get my day started. Overall, I couldn't ask for anything more than the amenities and accommodations I received here at Riverbend RV Park. I can't recommend this place enough! It's the perfect starter/campground for getting your North Cascades journey going in the right direction when entering the park from the east side and venturing west.

There's lots of exploring to be done, if you go down by the huts, there's a trail to the river and lots of little paths to venture down. We were one of two families staying at first, so WIFI in cabin 6 worked just fine. When we left (on a Wednesday) lots of people were arriving. Each cabin had a porta-potty, but the bathroom was close enough that we just used that. The bathrooms were spotless and cleaned daily. My one complaint is that the pizza place opened at 2 and closed at 8 (so no coffee/espresso) and it was only a couple days a week. But that's a great way to explore Mazama and Winthop. And, if there was an emergency, no one was onsite. Pretty sure there was a bear on the premises one night, as the "bear-proof" trash area and dumpsters got ransacked, so come prepared, especially if you're camping. Will we come again? YES. This place doesn't feel like a rental. It feels like someone's house that wasn't expecting guests. Creepy. Also, the "hot tub" is not hot and doesn't have functioning jets. The resort is on Lucky Louie Rd do not turn into Wolf Song Road. The furniture was made with logs, very rustic. The couch is a log frame with with a futon mattress. The reason we chose the wolf ridge resort is it was dog friendly without breaking the bank. For a three night stay, dog & air bnb fees we paid just little over $400. With that being said, the room had the basic amenities. A coffee pot with some coffee provided. A microwave, fridge. All what you would envision in a hotel room not a house. They did have a small single burner you could plug in and cook. We did not use it so I can't attest it's usability. There was a pot and pan available but no oil or anything like that in the cabin. The bed was comfortable. I must tell you internet is spotty and they only have Netflix available for TV watching. It was ridiculous to even attempt setting it up. We finally lost patience and used our phones and our data to watch shows. Thankfully we brought our iPad. The property itself is relaxing. The pool, while we didn't use it, wasn't hot, thank goodness because I wouldn't have gone in it. The warming house which has a fireplace and ping pong table along with the playground and horse shoe pits at one time were probably really well loved. They remind me of the toy story toys that at one point were well-loved. We did play ping pong and utilized the horse show pits. They were in really rough conditions and hard to play but was fun anyway. What I loved about this place is it's peaceful serenity. They had a river trail to the river. We brought our beach chairs from home and took them down to the river and relaxed which is one of my fav things to do, no one else was down there so we had the place to ourselves and I could let my dog run free. Overall a decent place to stay for the price, I'd say it's worth the money. The resort is about 15 minutes from Twisp and less than 10 minutes from Winthrop. A real pretty drive. Of course the Methow valley is beautiful where you drive.
