Update: Check your receipt after staying here. I just noticed we were charged twice for our stay, so I'm having to deal with the credit card company to have one of the charges removed. I'm glad my husband caught it when reviewing our statement, so make sure to check yours too. The room itself was quaint and fit the character of the western town. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view over the creek was beautiful. The only odd design choice was the sink being located in the main part of the room rather than in the separate toilet/shower area, which made brushing teeth and washing up a little awkward. Unfortunately, we were rudely woken up at 9 am by someone aggressively trying to enter our room. I'm fairly certain it was a cleaning person, though check-out wasn't until 11 am, so I have no idea why they'd be trying to clean our room so early. When I looked through the peephole, I saw it was a small man wearing a cap, so I wasn't about to open the door to confront him. He continued trying to open the door for 2-3 minutes before finally giving up. An hour later, when we were ready to depart around 10 am, I went to the office to find out what all the ruckus was all about, but it was locked and completely unattended. We left feeling uneasy, and although the room and setting were nice, the unsettling experience means we probably wouldn't stay here again.

I thought this place was great. Loved our view, clean, staff was super sweet, and you get a microwave mini fridge and coffee pot! Great location and easy check in and check out. I would recommend staying here for an easy over nighter, romantic get away, family fun, or friends sleep over! Can't go wrong here.

We loved our stay here. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. The river view out back is priceless.

So far so great! Smooth check in. Parking up front. Comfortable beds. Coffee in the room. Awesome views with the river outside. Walking distance easily to everything. Bonus is that there is a "free with donation" level 2 electric vehicle charger at a nearby campground! Motel is simple and rustic with all the knotty pine decor. It ain't the Hilton, it's down to earth better

Nice hotel overall. "Close" to trails, don't know why you would want to come over here in the first place. Outside of the hotel looks like a fucking backdrop in a western movie but the inside was clean, keep in mind this was 200 bucks for a bed. Hot tub smelled stank however.

Love this hotel. Is it the fanciest five star hotel...no but has the nicest staff, cleanest rooms, best location and the price is right. They are at the end of town right by the best bakery for breakfast and coffee, The Rocking Horse and you can walk all of town and back to your room. No driving and having to find parking. Right on the river with a balcony off your room to take it all in. I've stayed here twice in a month just because I love Winthrop in the fall.

Nice place, stayed a few weeks ago. First, the good stuff: Great back balcony overlooking the river, great river access. Nice zero grav chairs to watch sunset on the river. Spacious, clean room with good sized fridge & freezer. Large counter around sink. Less than a block to the "town". It's quite overpriced (thus only 3 stars) imho but most small hotels in E WA tourist towns are. I expect that will change in other places like Leavenworth now that real competition has arrived. They need some of that in Winthrop. The pricing also made no sense: we stayed 4 nights, different price each night, with Friday being the cheapest. Also, would have been nice to have a clock on the nightstand like all hotels (except this one) have. Another annoying feature is that they charge 8 bucks a day for premium WiFi. A sign of things to come? Parroting Ticketb__tard? The "free" WiFi was adequate for us, but was awkward to sign on to. Don't forget to greet Healy, the friendly local kitty.

An excellent place to stay while visiting Winthrop. Easily able to walk into town, place to sit in the river, clean rooms and plenty of parking.

The river from our balcony this morning.

Nice little hotel, rooms were decent and the front desk girl was very friendly and competent-no beef with her at all, BUT the pillows stunk! There were no others available so I covered it with a towel. As someone who had my own BnB on Maui for 20 years this was unacceptable - it's where you put your head! and if it smells like sweat and drool - UGH! Wash them and buy new ones when necessary. It's the single most important thing yo can do. I did call the front desk about a group of about 10 people below our balcony the first night drinking, yelling, playing loud music - so much for enjoying the evening on our balcony watching the river under the stars. The front desk girl did go down and ask them to quiet down - but of course they didn't, people that inconsiderate don't care. If I were to go back, I'd take my own pillow.

The hotel is not bad. Nice river in the back..the hot tub was great, it was in the single digits in the night and we went in it was felt great.

A great local hotel located within walking distance of downtown Winthrop. I would happily stay here again if in the area.

We stayed in Cabin #12 and it was very nice. It was clean and neat. It came equipped with a full kitchen. We used the refrigerator but did not cook. There was a stack of napkins on the nook table but no paper towels available. Next time I'll remember a roll. The deck was right above the river and was very scenic. The hot tub was very useful to us and we sat in it stargazing for hours. The setting is private with privacy screens on both sides. We had neighbors on both sides of us who were also outside but all was peaceful. Good nature sounds out there. The check in procedure was flawless. It was all faceless and we never entered the office or saw any staff at all. They had our credit card number and sent us an email the day we arrived with the key box code. I'm assuming Covid prompted that procedure but it was smooth. There were a couple rocking chairs and a couch in the tv area. Under the tv was a DVD player and we watched some old Bogart/Bacall movies. Very cool. We already booked another trip next time Washington Pass is clear.

It was a bit steep for a Monday evening, totaling $211 with taxes. Upon driving in, on the left hand side was an eyesore, reminiscent of the Texas Chainsaw massacre with car parts strewn all over the lawn, a bit eery. Maybe that's where you end up if you don't pay! The manager on duty was very polite, and let us check in a couple hours earlier than their normal check in. The maids were still cleaning the room when we arrived. They only allow one person at a time at the hotel desk so they abide by COVID rules. Every employee we came across wore masks. We stayed in the main building up on the second floor. Enter room. Very clean. On the left is a closet with permanent hangers and a vanity with soaps and lotions (beware the soap does not foam at all, was it really soap?), and then the bathroom. Lots of towels. In the room straight ahead is a loveseat and and A/C unit that works very well. There were two queen beds with that cute "you're on the river" bed posts. Quilted blankets for that homey feel. Pretty sure they aren't cleaning the quilts between guests though, didn't smell fresh. Pillows were comfy. Beds were firm, but I found it quite comfortable. They supply a mini fridge and a microwave and a coffee station. There is a tv, but it's about the size of a laptop monitor, pretty small. Normally they have a place where you can borrow DVD's to watch or board games to play, but during COVID, they are not doing that. The best part of the Inn is that our patio overlooked the River, which is very relaxing. The screen door fell off the tracks multiple times so I decided to just leave it parked at an angle outside the sliding glass door. They provided a citronella candle (nice touch) in case you didn't want to experience mosquito genocide. Not relaxing was the giant tree being escavated within our front view, and was loud, ruining an otherwise perfect view of the water. Before dinner, we laid out in the hammock and got some shut eye. After dinner we came back, as I had reserved an hour (they allow you to sign yourself up on a sheet outside the indoor pool on premises) for the pool and the hot tub. Beware, the hot tub.... it's hot. Burned my keister. :P The wi-fi was somewhat slow and made it somewhat difficult to plan the next days adventures. We still managed to get a decent nights sleep, and check out was quick and easy.
