I thought this place was great. Loved our view, clean, staff was super sweet, and you get a microwave mini fridge and coffee pot! Great location and easy check in and check out. I would recommend staying here for an easy over nighter, romantic get away, family fun, or friends sleep over! Can't go wrong here.

We loved our stay here. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. The river view out back is priceless.

So far so great! Smooth check in. Parking up front. Comfortable beds. Coffee in the room. Awesome views with the river outside. Walking distance easily to everything. Bonus is that there is a "free with donation" level 2 electric vehicle charger at a nearby campground! Motel is simple and rustic with all the knotty pine decor. It ain't the Hilton, it's down to earth better

Love this hotel. Is it the fanciest five star hotel...no but has the nicest staff, cleanest rooms, best location and the price is right. They are at the end of town right by the best bakery for breakfast and coffee, The Rocking Horse and you can walk all of town and back to your room. No driving and having to find parking. Right on the river with a balcony off your room to take it all in. I've stayed here twice in a month just because I love Winthrop in the fall.

Nice hotel overall. "Close" to trails, don't know why you would want to come over here in the first place. Outside of the hotel looks like a fucking backdrop in a western movie but the inside was clean, keep in mind this was 200 bucks for a bed. Hot tub smelled stank however.

Nice place, stayed a few weeks ago. First, the good stuff: Great back balcony overlooking the river, great river access. Nice zero grav chairs to watch sunset on the river. Spacious, clean room with good sized fridge & freezer. Large counter around sink. Less than a block to the "town". It's quite overpriced (thus only 3 stars) imho but most small hotels in E WA tourist towns are. I expect that will change in other places like Leavenworth now that real competition has arrived. They need some of that in Winthrop. The pricing also made no sense: we stayed 4 nights, different price each night, with Friday being the cheapest. Also, would have been nice to have a clock on the nightstand like all hotels (except this one) have. Another annoying feature is that they charge 8 bucks a day for premium WiFi. A sign of things to come? Parroting Ticketb__tard? The "free" WiFi was adequate for us, but was awkward to sign on to. Don't forget to greet Healy, the friendly local kitty.

An excellent place to stay while visiting Winthrop. Easily able to walk into town, place to sit in the river, clean rooms and plenty of parking.

The river from our balcony this morning.

Nice little hotel, rooms were decent and the front desk girl was very friendly and competent-no beef with her at all, BUT the pillows stunk! There were no others available so I covered it with a towel. As someone who had my own BnB on Maui for 20 years this was unacceptable - it's where you put your head! and if it smells like sweat and drool - UGH! Wash them and buy new ones when necessary. It's the single most important thing yo can do. I did call the front desk about a group of about 10 people below our balcony the first night drinking, yelling, playing loud music - so much for enjoying the evening on our balcony watching the river under the stars. The front desk girl did go down and ask them to quiet down - but of course they didn't, people that inconsiderate don't care. If I were to go back, I'd take my own pillow.

The hotel is not bad. Nice river in the back..the hot tub was great, it was in the single digits in the night and we went in it was felt great.

Spontaneous stop on way home from Spokane. Love Winthrop but never been to this hotel. Right on the river, great clean room. Peaceful rushing water, only river and trees and mts to look at. Wish we could stay longer. Added plus, you can walk just one block into this fun town. **bring bug spray! you are right on the river' B and K Neufeld, Tacoma WA

Fall view from room 28. Perhaps the last balloon flight of the season.

A great local hotel located within walking distance of downtown Winthrop. I would happily stay here again if in the area.

Where do I begin? My bride made an anniversary trip for us before the North Cascades Highway closes…read morefor the winter. She chose the River's Edge for our accommodations. We stayed in Cabin #12 and it was very nice. It was clean and neat. It came equipped with a full kitchen. We used the refrigerator but did not cook. There was a stack of napkins on the nook table but no paper towels available. Next time I'll remember a roll. The deck was right above the river and was very scenic. The hot tub was very useful to us and we sat in it stargazing for hours. The setting is private with privacy screens on both sides. We had neighbors on both sides of us who were also outside but all was peaceful. Good nature sounds out there. The check in procedure was flawless. It was all faceless and we never entered the office or saw any staff at all. They had our credit card number and sent us an email the day we arrived with the key box code. I'm assuming Covid prompted that procedure but it was smooth. There were a couple rocking chairs and a couch in the tv area. Under the tv was a DVD player and we watched some old Bogart/Bacall movies. Very cool. We already booked another trip next time Washington Pass is clear.

A miracle occurred and I managed to get the cabin for the night. It was more than awesome. I particularly loved the staff - they made me feel more than welcome and I'm forever grateful for their hospitality. What timing to walk up and get a cabin in a place that's already extremely difficult to reserve. Miraculous - and great scenic spot - super Fall colors as well. Loved it and will return often! Thank you staff for a memorable quick visit to Winthrop!

What an absolute dumpster. This "inn" is a cheap motel with…read moretorn towels, moldy showers, crappy rooms and (for some reason) new-ish flooring. Whoever is running a scam of charging premium price point of $200+ a night for this shed is only doing it because there isn't enough business in town to rent it out by the hour. The "breakfast" is represented by an unclean coffee machine and a basket of Costco snacks by the front desk, in a permanently-locked room, where the clerk (a local teen) is never present. She emerges sporadically, every now and then, mostly in the afternoon when new tenants are expected - but is nowhere to be seen in the morning or during posted "breakfast hours". The place has some sort of shed int he back, cracked pavement parking lot, and pretty much nothing else around. We packed our things and fled after one night, not prepared to stay in this hole for the full duration we paid for. Ew.

We stayed here and did not pay $200. as it was off season. The room initially looked okay, floors…read morewere newish, decor okay. But the biggest red flag was that my dog refused to walk on the floor! She jumped on the bed, and would not come down even for food or water. I think something on the floor was hurting her paws, or she smelled something, not sure? Also the bed was very uncomfortable, and then the door to the bathroom was dirty and had spots on it. I guess there used to be a hot tub, but it wasn't working. We came to play in a hockey tournament and booked last minute and it was the only reasonable price- we should have checked reviews.
