Stayed at the ranch house for 5 nights with a group of 6 (a 21-mo toddler, husband and me, in-laws…read moreand sister). Ranch house was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Food was delicious! Coffee starts around 6a, and we brought our own wine for pre-dinner drinks. No free organized activities, but I really enjoyed the kayaking tour; we also rented an ATV for the day to tour the valley w the whole family (visited orchard, old schoolhouse, etc), I did horseback riding half-day, took the blue bus (free for ranch guests) upvalley to hike the Agnes Gorge trail, and did a lot of reading, hanging out w the toddler, and digital detoxing (although the ranch house did receive the WiFi in the parking lot during our visit!) Husband and in-laws found great fly fishing in the river across the street from the ranch, and enjoyed the easy option to rent a bike from the ranch to head to other fishing spots. Toddler-specific info: she loved walking around the ranch and seeing the pigs and horses, playing on the playground, talking to other kids. We brought our own toys (magnatiles, crayons etc) for inside time which was helpful. Wish I had brought blackout curtain alternatives to keep the downstairs bedroom darker for naptime, although it was fine. Washing machine in the ranch house was out of order (we didn't plan to use). Bus ride to ranch from ferry landing to ranch was 30 min (entertainingly bumpy for toddler). Emailing ranch was very helpful for answering Qs!

We ended up getting two bunk beds in a queen in one room and a queen in another room which worked out great with our kids. The cabins are comfortable except for there's no air conditioning in the cabins or even in the lodge. So keep that in mind if staying in the summer. There was a fan provided but only one for the whole entire room at night. It did cool off so we'd open up the windows to cool off the cabin. There was a strange smell, probably from the previous people's cooking in the cabin which was unpleasant for the first day.

No "how was your stay ?" or anything. Pool and hotbtub looked questionable so didn't use. Room was fine - very basic motel room. Not giving "resort" vibes. Outside to lodge was all torn up and under construction. Pub closed. Restaurant seemed more like a cafeteria with waitresses -zero ambiance or charm. Seafood chowder was good. Beef dip was enjoyed but fries were tasteless and oily and same with the unsalted unseasoned yam fries. Overpriced for mid week off season. . Won't be back

Holes in the door where a lock used to be. No, you can't see through the hole but it is really unsightly. For staying one night, paying not too much and no other perks, this place is okay. Appeared to be home to some long term residents. I would probably look elsewhere should we end up in Oroville again.

It's really beautiful in the back country around there and the people are really friendly! I forgot that locals wave when they pass by in rural parts of the country. The hotel is really a 2 star hotel with the heart of a 5 star hotel. My room was spacious, clean, new fridge and new big TV, good internet, Amazon Fire TV, bedspreads looked new, comfortable mattress and I slept great!! The staff was wonderful, friendly and very helpful! This is an old hotel with a few blemishes, that's why I say it's a 2 star but everything considered it had the heart of a 5 star hotel. Also, it was 100 degrees yesterday so I took a dip in the pool which felt great! I recommend this motel especially if you are on a budget.

We stayed in the eagle room with its own bathroom and we probably could've done with the bathroom down the hall situation. Good fan to run at night. Overall satisfied. As a family of four, each room sleeps two people so we needed to spend $250 per night for two people in order to be here. This is not a $500+ per night place. Yet here we are. There is one bathroom shared between six rooms upstairs and no sign asking people to be polite and limit the time is in the bathroom. 9 o'clock at night someone's in the bathroom for 45 minutes and get ready for bed. That's a long time for everyone else to wait No one is here to check you in and I won't tell you where the keys are stored because I don't want the safety of the poor guests who stay here next. I hit my leg and toes on the foot of the bed three times and I had to move the chair and so I stopped hitting my foot. However it happened again. AC in the common room, but only fans in the bedroom room upstairs. The room is boiling hot. Update/ open windows to cook the room at night. There's no other way. Then spend all night being to hot/ to cold. Better than hot all night like kids who slept worse. We were room 15. The headboard less room of bruised toes and feet There is a secret 2nd unlabeled bathroom upstairs. Seriously how hard it is to put a sign up? There are so many signs about towels. I'm tempted to write it on the door but I don't have a pen.
