Bear Bites ice cream was yummy and nice place to relax in the sun.

Great way to end a long section of the Pacific Crest Trail! Staff were all super friendly and food was excellent. Room was comfy and had everything I needed. Easy access to trails even without having a car.

As done several times before, we booked a standard cabin at the 'Manning Park Resort', for our 4-night stay in 'Manning Provincial Park' last week. For us, the cabin was perfect -- with no accommodation surprises, same type and design as we have become accustomed to, and everything in working order. And we sure loved its location - with its more than ample space out front, and in back, to enjoy all the sights and sounds. The standard cabins have two bedrooms - one with a single, double bed, and the other, with two, twin-sized bunks. Plus, a hide-a-bed sofa in the living room. A well-equipped kitchen, with full-size fridege and electric range, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, and long, dining table. Like last year year, the Resort's 'Recreation Centre' was closed. Apparently, staff were working on renovations and such to some of the amenities. A slight disappointment for us, but we had thought it might still be closed due to Covid-19 concerns, so not a huge surprise. Some interesting surprise experiences during our stay though: -- on one day, two large helicopters used the field out front as a base to organize and conduct a search / rescue operation. Several people and dogs were involved, and several flights made to/from the areas being covered. A touch noisy, but sure interesting to watch the activities. -- on the next day, black bears decided to visit - their interests entered on the bbq & garbage container area directly out front from our cabin. We watched (outside from our picnic table) three separate visits over the course of the day, by both adult and younger bears. The colours and sizes of the bears indicated we saw at least three adult bears, and two younger ones. Our very first sighting of any bears there, and we got to watch at least five!! My camera could not do justice to the views, but the sights were rather exciting! 'Manning Park Resort' once again provided a wonderful stay. And the cabin itself, was truly our 'home-away-from -home' for the days spent in the Park. We sure enjoyed the time spent there, and as usual hated to see the time pass by so quickly, and our stay come to an end.

We got here around 9PM and there was nothing to do at night. They have games room for kids and adults. You can rent equipments for pingpong at the front desk to play. Also you can play Foosball, video game(there's only one),pool and stuff. Also there are fitness room and swimming pool as well. Swimming pool opens from 8AM to 10PM everyday. My sister and I enjoyed swimming there it was fun. Locker is available for a $1. There are 2 hot tubs available along with sauna and a steam room. We found steam room too cold though. I thought we got a room for a cabin, but stayed in a room since there was none available. At least they had microwave and a fridge to use. I suggest bring your portable range, frying pan and utencils in case you don't get to stay in cabin. Also bring your own sandwiches since there's only one restaurant next to the souvenir shop. Price isn't cheap.

But the rooms were fairly clean. Some of the hot and cold knobs on the showers on the 2nd floors sure are quite backwards in the way one has to figure out how they work. one can pay for the premium wifi for $3 day which still sucks and is similar to dial up. The kitchen has all the appliances a group could need and kudos for having a dishwasher. one still gets access to the Resorts' Lagoon indoor pool, saunas and hot tubs which is a good bonus. The scenery around the area is truly mountain beauty with plenty of hiking trails. The service from the staff was always friendly and prompt. I hope the ownership takes a look at some of the resort's features and updates them. The games room is looking aged, lonely and shabby.

The details are too long an involved to go into, but suffice it to say in a three night stay, the evening meals two of the three nights were 2 hour almost comical mis-adventures. After the last meal, capped off by the smell of a rotten cleaning rag left on the table behind us (reeking of rotten fish) my wife and I just lost it laughing at the complete absurdity of the whole situation. Oh, and by the way, the food ain't cheap. After the first night, I would have eaten outside the lodge, but that is impractical as the closest restaurants are in Winthrop which is mostly closed in the evening and a pretty tough drive down slick roads and back. To be fair, the new years eve celebratory meal (at $105 PP) was pretty good and not chaotic. (I am told the lodge owners were dining there that evening which may have affected the service) The lodge itself is nice, although our room, a fireplace room in the Gardner lodge was pretty worn and dated. In my mind, this place is nowhere worth what they charge and the difficulty of getting there. The upscale lodges in Leavenworth are for better,

This place doesn't feel like a rental. It feels like someone's house that wasn't expecting guests. Creepy. Also, the "hot tub" is not hot and doesn't have functioning jets. It seems to have been that way for a long time. I reached out to management and they completely brushed off my concerns. They came by to put the fireplace back together and screw in the light bulbs that weren't working, but otherwise nothing. They tried to say it was because it was a same day turn around, but this place is chronically dirty and disorganized. I get that the cabin is old, but for $200/ night I would expect it to be clean.
