The park has a playground, 2 tennis courts, 2 basketball hoops, seasonal public restrooms, benches, picnic tables, barbecue pits, pavilion, baseball field, and a stage against the backdrop of the jagged hills to the north. The Kettle Falls Information Center is also located across the street. It was a great place for our kids to spend an hour happily getting some wiggles out. We'll definitely plan to stop again if we're in the area!

Sicamous which was the biggest passenger boat built by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Beside the S.S Sicamous, there is another boat named the S.S. Naramata which is the only remaining steamboat in the Interior of B.C. There are activities which are perfect for the kids such as mini golf and bumper cars too. There is a large parking lot with free parking.

Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park is a neat place to visit. When they had the huge fires in…read moreKelowna it ripped through this park. It has now been long enough that regrowth is in full swing. There are multiple lakes to check out along the trails here that are a nice break if you are hiking in the heat of the summer! There are lots of official trails and goat trails that you can explore and spend days here. Care has to be taken on the trails though when the wind picks up as there are a lot of unstable dead trees from the fires that could topple over and hurt you. There is a ton of wildlife here to experience as well. There are Mule and white tailed deer, mountain goats, black bears, chipmunks and rattle snakes to name a few. Always take care to watch your step in the heat of summer as a bite from a rattle snake can in rare cases lead to death but can really hurt and make it difficult to make it out of the bush. The park is pretty big with an area of 11,038 hectares protected. Hunting is allowed in the boarders of this park during hunting season so I would wear bright coloured clothing during that season for sure!

We went just passed the 2km mark from the Myra parking lot which is after the first tunnel. All in it was 5km round trip for us. At the parking lot you can rent bikes and there is also washrooms. The paths and trestles are wide enough for hikers and bikes. We definitely will come here again - maybe go a bit farther.

We were able to drive up with our rental Toyota Corolla, but we did take it quite slowly as there were many potholes. The road was wide enough for 2 cars to pass along most of the route. Just before the parking lot, there were bike rentals/reservations recommended -- but we were planning to walk. Parking lot is quite large, but was close to full when we arrived around 11 am. The trail is well-maintained, wide, and is used by walkers and bikers. On our day there, the bikers included young children, couples on mountain bikes, adults on eBikes, and bikers participating in a bike race. Sharing the trail with the latter was unfortunate because they zoomed past us at high rates of speed and didn't observe the guidance that they needed to yield to walkers on the trestles (bridges). We walked a few hundred meters past the 4 km marker, at which point we turned back upon reaching a sizable puddle (and recognizing that we had to walk back!). Our total walk was 8 km plus (or exactly 6 miles). We walked over 11 trestles, numbered 18 to 8, and through two tunnels. Views of the canyon, and of Okanagan Lake in the distance, were beautiful. There were regular benches to stop to enjoy the views. There was a shelter, with a long bench at the 2.9 km mark. Pit toilets are at the parking lot and at the 4.0 km mark. There are also 3 picnic tables, with aggressive chipmunks, near 4.0.

Bring a book and relax in the shades, or bring your fishing pole and try your luck. For me, I bring Daisy to enjoy the grounds, and she also likes to have a dip in the cool lake water. Also, a great place for an impromptu picnic with friends and family. Remember to respect the nature, take away whatever you bring, and don't leave any garbage that spoils the park for all to enjoy!!

Whenever I am in Kelowna (which admittedly has become less and less over the recent years) I have…read moreto come to City Park. Located right downtown it is a huge green space right along the lake. In summer it is bustling with people who have come to go to the beach, relax in the park or go for a nice walk, run or bike ride. It is a great place to run because the path is right along the lake so you're treated to nice views and due to its size you can cover a decent distance for your workout. They still have the Ogopogo (the mythical creature who lives in the lake statue and the fountain with the dolphins. Let me tell you that these have been there a LONG time (at least since I was a child). They add a nice little touch to the park. Also since my most recent visit was in December the city has set up an outdoor skating rink which looked like a lot of fun. You could rent skates if you didn't have them and it just looked like a good way to
