The weirdest place we've ever stayed. We arrived late and immediately noticed the shower and bathroom floor had a good amount of hair, like it hadn't been properly cleaned. Over the next few days we also noticed the following: 1) under the bed there are numerous boxes, two microwaves and a pair of dirty socks. 2) 2 out of 4 of the bathroom light bulbs were not working. 3) the bathroom cabinet has a bunch of random stuff including an empty tp roll. 4) the fireplace was taken apart and the thermostat was hanging off the wall. 5) a candy wrapper under the couch. 6) top of the fridge was disgustingly dirty. 7) cabinets are messy and disorganized. 8) carpets are super dirty. 9) random sleds and rubber glove in parking area. 10) windows are also disgusting. This place doesn't feel like a rental. It feels like someone's house that wasn't expecting guests. Creepy. Also, the "hot tub" is not hot and doesn't have functioning jets. It seems to have been that way for a long time. I reached out to management and they completely brushed off my concerns. They came by to put the fireplace back together and screw in the light bulbs that weren't working, but otherwise nothing. They tried to say it was because it was a same day turn around, but this place is chronically dirty and disorganized. I get that the cabin is old, but for $200/ night I would expect it to be clean. We will never stay here again and we WOULD NOT recommend it to anyone! There are way better places to stay. read more

We stayed at this resort In early September. We found it through Air BnB. Our unit was 40B. To get there you have to wait and set your directions after you get to the fish hatchery or you'll get routed through dirt roads and we were told in the winter are not drivable. The resort is on Lucky Louie Rd do not turn into Wolf Song Road. It'll take you in a long dirt road that does but up to the back of the resort property, but not accessible by vehicle to get to the cabins. Our studio cabin was small but cute. The furniture was made with logs, very rustic. The couch is a log frame with with a futon mattress. The reason we chose the wolf ridge resort is it was dog friendly without breaking the bank. For a three night stay, dog & air bnb fees we paid just little over $400. With that being said, the room had the basic amenities. A coffee pot with some coffee provided. A microwave, fridge. All what you would envision in a hotel room not a house. They did have a small single burner you could plug in and cook. We did not use it so I can't attest it's usability. There was a pot and pan available but no oil or anything like that in the cabin. The bed was comfortable. I must tell you internet is spotty and they only have Netflix available for TV watching. It was ridiculous to even attempt setting it up. We finally lost patience and used our phones and our data to watch shows. Thankfully we brought our iPad. The property itself is relaxing. The pool, while we didn't use it, wasn't hot, thank goodness because I wouldn't have gone in it. The warming house which has a fireplace and ping pong table along with the playground and horse shoe pits at one time were probably really well loved. They remind me of the toy story toys that at one point were well-loved. We did play ping pong and utilized the horse show pits. They were in really rough conditions and hard to play but was fun anyway. What I loved about this place is it's peaceful serenity. They had a river trail to the river. We brought our beach chairs from home and took them down to the river and relaxed which is one of my fav things to do, no one else was down there so we had the place to ourselves and I could let my dog run free. Overall a decent place to stay for the price, I'd say it's worth the money. The resort is about 15 minutes from Twisp and less than 10 minutes from Winthrop. A real pretty drive. Of course the Methow valley is beautiful where you drive. read more

Wolf Ridge is a collection of cabins set on a piece of partly wooded land next to Wolf Creek, a tributary of the Methow River. Our cabin, #40A, was very nice, with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths in a small house built from locally cut logs. Its appliances, etc., worked fine. The managers were very nice and helpful. The resort has an outdoor swimming pool, which was unheated but nice, and a covered hot tub, open 24 hours. We were close to both. We stayed during the week in August, and had very few neighbors. THE PROBLEM: The cabin is infested with mice. A few ran across the living room during the day, but at night they came out in force. They attacked the shelf where our food was, chewed a hole in a bread wrapper and ate a good-sized chunk of the loaf. So if you go, bring your cat! read more

We LOVE Wolfridge Resort. It provides such a low-key and relaxing get-away and we love that it is so dog-friendly. After a very long drive to get to Winthrop, we arrived at 2:30am and couldn't get our cabin combo to work. Gabrielle was responsive to my late night text and saved the day. We were so appreciative! The lodge has great access to ski trails right out the door and the dog-friendly ski trails just a short drive away. We can't wait to return for a summer visit to frolic through the mountains and wildflowers. PS: There are lots of deer up this way, so drive slow! read more

I have stayed here twice. I love this area first of all. It is a bit far and remote from the Seattle area, but worth the trip, summer or winter. The Methow (pronounced Met-Ow), valley is a gorgeous area in the northeast of the state. I had the good fortune the first time to come here during the Perseid Meteor showers in July. I had never before seen them and I was blown away. Because of the remoteness from major population centers, you can actually see this spectacular sight (when Earth passes through this meteor belt). I happened to look out the window at night to admire the starry sky, and saw shooting stars coming down one after the other. Unbelievable! (Later I found out more about the Perseids. A place like this is a great place to view them.) I stayed in the lodge the first time, and a cabin the second. Both are nice and rustic 'lodge' style with exposed beams and log cabin feeling. Was a little disappointed the second time, there were fire dangers so they wouldn't let us barbeque (even though they provided the gas grill). Oh well. They have a pool and spa. The pool wasn't heated when I was there (summer both times), but I didnt mind. I'm scandinavian and like cold dips. My travel buddy wasn't having it though! Bring a bike in the summer and go cross country skiing in the winter. A great place for a family to go, or have a reunion or gathering of some kind. The nearby town of Winthrop is a charming old west style village. Cute and laid back. Touristy, but not over the top. read more

Winthrop is a magical place close to my family's heart as I grew up coming out to the Methow every year as a child. My grandparents property purchased in the 70's has since been sold, but Wolfridge has provided a great alternative. We have stayed in two of the stand alone cabins as well as the one bedroom units. Our most recent trip we stayed in the sleeping wolf 1 bedroom cabin. We were happy with the unit. The only complaint I have was that there was no coffee pot even though it was listed as an amenity. As a mom of young children, a coffee pot is a necessity. Luckily, we were able to borrow an extra one from another unit additional family was staying in. Also worth mentioning, the pool and the hot tub have had a major turn around. read more

A great place to stay in Winthrop! This "resort" is about 4 miles out of town and is made up of free standing cabins and town homes. We stayed in unit 36 which is attached to 3 other units. Because of the layout of the building it felt like a separate cabin. The interior was really nice. It's a log cabin with log furniture and a beautiful little kitchen. Wifi and a nice tv. There is a wood stove but since it was 100 degrees when we stayed we didn't try it. There is a nice pool, basically hotel sized. The hot tub may be permanently out of order but we didn't care. There is lots of open space for dogs and kids to run around and a volleyball/badminton court. Winthrop is a cute little western themed town with lots of spots for espresso or ice cream. The Wolfridge Resort is not what I'd call a resort but it was a lovely place to relax. read more

Pool, giant hot tub, game cabin. Fire pit, horse-shoes, volley ball, playground... and gorgeous, GORGEOUS cabins. I've tried to come out here at least once a year for probably ten years now and have never yet been disappointed. You have a few choices for lodging: a free standing cabin or part of a larger structure. The cabins are the best, in my opinion, and absolutely worth the slightly higher rate. The lodge type rooms are fine too, though; you can get half a building, so you've got an upstairs and a downstairs, or just one or the other. The large downstairs units have full kitchens but the upstairs ones have amazing views at sunset... There's a river nearby that I personally think is great for playing in - but then, I like cold water! Trails not too far off, you're surrounded by beautiful hills, there are always deer and wild turkey wandering around... oh, and the most important thing? The staff. Lou & Gabrielle are the owners and they are so darn nice, it's ridiculous. It's not fake nice, either; they aren't just smiling and trying to get your money. They care about their resort, they want you to have a good time, and they always seem willing to just hang out and talk about whatever's on your mind... I can't recommend this place enough. read more

The first year we stayed there the hot tub was broken, but everything else was fine. The next year we stayed there the hot tub was still broken and the cabin was dirty. At 2am we were awakened by a BAT flying above our bed! All the windows and doors were closed and we have no idea how the bat got in the cabin. We spent the rest of the night trying to shoo the bat out the door. The next day the owners acted like they didn't believe us and refused to give us any sort of discount. I am NEVER going there again!! read more

Wolfridge is magical. Right on the ski trail, so you can leave your cabin and ski miles in either direction on gorgeous groomed trails. The whole place is dog friendly, which we love, as our pup loves to run through the common meadows or play in the snow. Also great for kids-- plenty of open space, a small playground, firepit/warming hut and trail to the river. It is secluded enough to feel like a real break, but only 15 minute drive into Winthrop to get supplies. There are a variety of cabins here of different sizes and amenities. We've noticed that some are also for rent through airbnb or methowreservations or other sites. We stayed at the Aspen Hollow cabin which we booked through methowreservations, and it was lovely. Really well-appointed, private, relaxing and cozy. Our friends stayed at Running Wolf, which they booked through the Wolf Ridge website. They loved it too, and their cabin was also really cozy and well-appointed. We can't wait to go back in the summer when hopefully the pool and hot tub will be open (currently closed due to COVID). read more

Me and my husband wanted a break from the busy city life of Seattle and though we decided about going on a trip at the last minute and obviously spent a little more as it was a last minute booking, I am glad that we chose this cabin. We stayed in the Stone wolf large studio on the Labor Day weekend and we loved it. We spent the entire vacation on the property having coffee and reading on the balcony, taking a walk in the big surrounding area and relaxing in the comfortable room. I stayed in Sleeping Wolf Cabin with a group of friends this past summer. The facilities are well maintained and the new management is really friendly. The pool and hot tub were a nice surprise. The resort is surrounded by endless miles of hiking trails. This clean, super cute cabin made for a relaxing place to sleep after swimming and hiking all day. Also, if you are looking to stay in a place where you can cook your own food then I especially recommend this place. The kitchen has all the utensils, pots, pans, dishes etc. that you could need and was really clean. I look forward to staying there again. read more

I spent a wonderful weekend with friends in the Sleeping Wolf cabin at Wolfridge Resort. The cabin accommodated about 10 of us (comfy and cozy), with sleeping options upstairs and downstairs. The cabin has been renovated and the grounds were in excellent condition. Our stay was at the end of the summer, so we took advantage of the pool and hot tub the entire weekend. (But we learned that there is also a warming hut for winter-time activities.) It's a quick drive to the main area of town, with lots of great little shops and places to eat. The management was responsive and made our visit memorable. read more

My family drove 4.5 hours, with small kids 2 and 4, to stay at Wolf Ridge Resort. It boasted of nice cabins, a swimming pool and a playground. When we arrived the pool was closed and the playground was dangerous. Our vacation was based around these options. When we returned home I contacted the Resort and got a call back. They said they were sorry. I asked for a refund of some sort. I could tell immediately they were not going to take responsibility. She said she would talk to the cabin owner for a refund. Why? The cabin was what it was advertised at. She said she would get back to me via email but I knew she wouldn't. I contacted her again and she used the fires as her reason for not giving a refund although she was still updating her facebook account and sending emails. That's insulting. The cabin we stayed in is for sale. I could not imagine getting stuck in a relationship with a management as this. Vacationing with little kids is hard enough but when there is no pool or playground its a long 4.5 hour drive for nothing! read more

I used to come here every year, but it's been about 10-13 years since i've been. I'm not sure if owners have changed or what but it has become a little more 'run down' than I remember. The inside of the cabins are still kept nice, inviting, and clean so that's a plus. Firstly, this was in May and it was already a disappointment that the hot tub was closed (I can understand the pool but not hot tub). My kids and I walked to the pool/hot tub area and down by the river to explore. The pool/hot tub area is a major eye sore. Neither one looks like they've been touched/cleaned/maintained in months (at least); dirty, dusty, pipes and debris everywhere, etc. We peaked into one of the changing rooms (or sauna) & it was actually kind of gross. There was literally garbage and a bunch of crap just piled in there & the door was wide open. Such a disappointment because back when I used to visit, I have wonderful memories of such a clean, welcoming, and manicured pool/hot tub/game room area and it was such a wonderful experience, since then it's gone majorly down hill. Sad. I believe that they should remove the word 'resort' out of the name, as it is not up to resort standards. If it weren't for the cabin (which actually has a for sale sign right on the front of it) still being nice, clean & welcoming and just the overall beauty of the natural surroundings, i'd have given one star, sadly. Even after many, many years of memories here I just may not reserve here anymore. read more
