Eventually my three car garage went from housing two cars, to one car, and then no cars. It was time I considered a storage unit. I realized the need for a storage unit late last year, but it wasn't until recently during COVID that I had time to go down and visit Derrels and open an account. The process was as easy as it gets. But I will say, we were incredibly lucky that we arrived on a day that a 10x10 became available. This location seems to have several long-time clients and getting an available unit can be tricky. The managers were incredibly friendly and helpful. They showed us the unit and we signed that day. Moved in the next. The facility is exceptionally clean. Every nook and cranny was spotless. The unit has plywood siding so that you can hang racks and what not. The 10x10 has plenty of room for our stuff and I can FINALLY reclaim my garage.

They were in sharp contrast to some of your other employees that I have dealt with in the office, namely Cookie and Audrey. I found them to be extremely rude, condescending, and impatient with the customers. They are not really cut out to be in customer service at all. I have actually discouraged friends from using this storage facility due to the poor treatment that I received from them various times. You never know who may come in to rent storage, and word of mouth carries a lot of weight here in Bakersfield. I will not be returning to this facility. I only gave one star only because of Robert and Ramona, as their kindness was always much appreciated!

They say that SOMETIMES (QUITE OFTEN; Couple/Few Times a Year!) they "Need to 'Adjust' their rates based on the Market/Inflation". But If THAT WERE the case then they'd be LOWERING the price from time to time, ALSO!! THAT NEVER Happens!! But you WILL Notice that the Exact Same Unit is being Offered to NEW CUSTOMERS at a Considerably ($15-$50!!) LOWER Rate!! More Often than Not you'll see that happen, Literally, a MONTH OR TWO AFTER they JUST RAISED YOUR RATES!! Anybody with half a brain should be able to figure that one out! I've, Literally, seen a 10'x20' that was listed FOR NEW CUSTOMERS at a LOWER PRICE than what MY Rent had JUST been (2 Months Prior!) Raised To on my 10'x15'!! My unit has also been broken into (along with 80ish Other Units; over the course of a 1 Month Crime Spree!!) by someone who Apparently has Mastered the Art of Breaking into SecureCare Units. And where Hope Handled things Beautifully, it still leaves a Bad Taste in my mouth when They are So Consistently RAISING their Rents (AFTER They Hook NEW CUSTOMERS with LOWER Rates that WILL BE RAISED IN 3 MONTHS...GUARANTEED!!), But NONE of THAT Money seems to be going to Making SecureCare MORE SECURE!! I Am Definitely going to be moving to another storage facility, but its gonna HAVE TO BE AFTER the Holidays, And When it's a little More Convenient to HAVE TO RENT a Uhaul And Find Some Willing Masochists to HELP ME Move Everything in a 10'x20' that is PACKED from Front to Back; Ceiling to Floor!! Their rates aren't As Low TO START, But they also Don't Raise their rates More Than once a Year...IF THAT!!
